Oded Fehr, oh yeah he would be a good choice also. I imagined Oberyn to be a slighter person to be a good contrast with his duel with "The Mountain", Oded Is 6.2.

On a related note, who else misses Conan Stevens Mountain? He was PERFECT, I hope they get him back.

My interpretation of the people of Dorne was always a bit Middle Eastern, Marocco'ish.

In that case my pick would be:

Alexander Siddig

I mean, LOOK at the guy! Perfect!

alexander_siddig_1.jpg

Who would your picks be?

I like the guy from the Mummy.  Omar, or Oman, or something like that.  Someone google him for me please.

I like Cas! But I dunno he seems young to me, I think he might be a decent Daario, or maybe he might be to old for that. Hahah this casting thing is hard!

A woman first thought of Cas Anvar for Daario, but think that he could do the Red Viper as well. He's in that in-between age group.

Amr Waked[1].jpg

In my mind it has been Oded Fehr from first read. I have thought of a few others, but Fehr still stands out to me as the perfect Re Viper. Although, Amr Waked has the eyes of a viper and is a brilliant actor too.

I've loved Siddig since I first saw him in DS9. If they go with the expected Martell look, then he'd be ideal!

Oded Fehr! All the way! Loved Alexander Siddig but Primeval kind off ruined him for me. Oded was badass in the mummy and hilarious in Deuce Bigalow.
And YEEEEEESSSSS I mis Conan Stevens as the Mountain. Ian Whyte never had that same presence. Finally a place where I can say this without the moderators wanting to kill me.

Why would the mods want to kill you? It is known!

Ian Whyte is great, he is just not the mountain. Conan was so good he was the mountain for the rest of the books I read after season 1. His appearance in season 2 was so short they should've just written him out and then bring Conan back for his duel with the Red Viper ( cant wait for that one ).

But I suppose if Ian Whyte is the Mountain the contrast between Oded and Ian will not be big enough.

Mem Ferda (castmate of Ed Skrein (Daario) in Ill Manors) would IMO make a pretty good Oberyn:

Doran, not the Red Viper.  His older brother (Quentyn's father)

I wanted to envision this but no, prince Doran is larger in statue with painful Gout and/or Diabetes. Shaloub is

too petite. You never know though with prosthetics and makeup.

Looking at all this, I think Siddig would do for Doran Martell. He's actually old enough now.

Or perhaps Tony Shalhoub?

Actually, apparently Doran Martell is over 50. Siddig is only a year older than I. I have some time before 50. So no. Tony Shalhoub, yes.

Ditto on Tony Shalhoub - he doesn't get enough romantic/heroic parts.

Shaloub has tried being a baddy but never rises to that and he knows that it's not is strong suit. He does

portray " serious as f**k very well though. There was a movie he did with George Clooney and Annette

Benning several years ago about a Lebbanese terroist sleeper cell, he was brilliant as an analyst. He does

comedy and intelligent support brilliantly. One of my favorite actors, I nearly had a cameo on Monk 1

day smile in SanFrancisco.

Don't think so , but I could be wrong. It's more of an employment thing than acting...I think. Like in America ... is it green card?

You're both right but also include the actor's willingness to be separated from family or personal committments This

wasn't so much an issue before but impacts production these days.

I think all of them have been good choices, I will wait anxiously for him to appear, his appearance in the book was short but sweet.

the brazilian guy I nominated wasn´t for real, I was jk, introducing our southamerican beauties (and really the guy is not bad actor). I thought about Daffer (?) L´Abiddine one time but it´s a serious guy. Can´t find a guy I like for this role.

Oded Fehr is my favorite for the role. He was the actor who popped into my mind when I first came across Oberyn.

I like Alexander Siddig but wouldn't his Da Vinci duties keep him busy from the role ?
