One wonders what her mentality is after her "walk of shame". Her uncle noted that she seemed more "subdued", we will see. Maybe she will start to repent her sins ( doubtful), or she will totally go off the deep end ( woo!)
Sending her to the wall, maybe, something interesting could happen there. Or the prophecy that she would be killed by one of her younger brothers could come true.....who knows.

This is another spinoff thread, that I thought deserved its own topic.
We love her, we hate her, we love to hate her. What will become of such a central character to the series?
My fantasy: Everything gets found out about her and given her standing, she has the option of execution or becoming the first woman ever sent to the Wall. To survive and see everything undone (and finally have to admit the existence of White Walkers)
Far-fetched, I know.

I for one hopes she goes bat**** crazy! And that the people led by Tyrion rise up to kill her. There's no way they'll send a woman to the wall. Maybe an exile beyond the wall, that would be cool!

Oh no ... I'm holding out for the mad frog woman. Jamie has to do it! It's The only ending for her I will be happy with. It may be in public or private ... but it HAS to happen. With his gold hand wrapped around her neck. The fact she has been convinced it was Tyrion since day one makes it all the better. Seven hells! It just has to I tell ya!

Heh, I would not mind it at all, so Shakespearean!

Never occured to me that Jamie might be the one to kill her. Wow, great theory YvyB. Since you mentioned it, the line where they made it quite clear Cersei was the older of the two twins came back into my mind.
That would be a damn fine ending. I originally just wanted her out of power, but having Jamie kill her would be all sorts of great.
By the way Omar, the reply feature wasn't working for me a second ago. I don't know what was wrong with it, but consider the bug report submitted. :P
Cersei is chastenened by her walk of shame and has a revelation about her shortcomings as a ruler. She educates herself about politics, economics (especially about the stupidity of crossing the Iron Bank), and military tactics in a very short learning curve and heeds wise advisors-none of whom are sexy idiots. She successfully defends the realm from the Others by forging an alliance with Dany and her dragons, Aegon, and Jaimie having convinced him to give her the benefit of the doubt during the crisis. They all rush to the Wall in time to see it fall with the blowing of the horn found by Jon Snow with the cache of obsidian blades. In the ensuing battle, Dany, Aegon, Jaime, and Jon all die herocally. Cersei is left to rule until Tommen comes of age. She binds the wounds of the Seven Kingdoms with her good works so well that she is universally loved and called "Good Queen Cersesi." She sets in place reforms which rein in the church and eventually lead to a constitutional monarchy. When Tommen and his wife Arya assume power, she becomes a silent sister and ends her days on the Quiet Isle.
With the murder of ser Kevan, Cersei will live for a few more months with all her power moves in place. Whether Varys aids her or helps the current regime ruin, we will undoubtedly suffer with Cersei as queen regent. With the probable assassination of the bishop and maybe a few nuns for torture, she'll appear at ease. A big question of will she be able to rein in the Templar priests/ Army. Lancel of course is soon dead. How long though? Littlefinger had the right of it, she's digging her own grave/self destruction. How will LF aid this though? Will he remain the " teflon man " for long? Cersei will die but not soon enough. Is wrong to send her to the Eyrie and make her FLY?
Donal, thank you. Like most of one's posts, one's tongue was firmly in one's cheek.
One failed to mention that Cersei's good works included establishing an educational system for the smallfolk which results in univeral literacy. This literacy demands the creation of an efficient postal sysem which does not depend on those nasty ravens. (People, you cannot housebreak a bird!) In time the maesters of the Citidel set up e-mail service using the glass candles thus creating the Westerosi internet.
I'm with YvyB on this. There is no way in seven hells she dies by anybody's hand but Jaime's. She's too much of a Shakespearian character, as Omar already mentioned, and GRRM makes a point of showing us their falling out of love, if you can even call it love on Cersei's part. As for the prophecy, I'm convinced it's true, though I'm beginning to wonder just how much of that will be self-fulfilling prophecy. Her scene with Tommen in Blackwater seemed poignant, could be a bit of foreshadowing there. Seeing how Tommen and Jaime's relationship seemed to develop in AFfC, I'm thinking the final click for him will be something related to his son.
Oh and Cersei subdued? Never. GRRM would not play the redemption card on both twins.
Speaking of prophecy, I find it really funny that many times the action that people take to stop horrible prophecy from happening is many times the catalyst that brings the prophecy about.

What about the weirnet? Sure, the signal was weak and the load time was slower, but these days Westerosi kids are being given everything on a silver platter and the next thing you know they're up there shouting FIIIIIIIIIRST on every damn comment thread. :P
Jaime shoots his sister with a crossbow while she's in the privey and marries Brienne of Tarth, making her the first Lady of Casterly Rock.

Since everybody expects Cersei to die horribly at Jaime's hands, a woman must take the contrarian view and expects her to live out her days with her son and daughter-in-law at Casterly Rock, a doting grandmother teaching needlework and storytelling to her grandchildren. And mumbling about her DIL's taste in everything no doubt. Not every premonition is fulfilled.
I think that she's going to return to her former self, bringing the realm into furthur ruin. That was the whole reason that Varys got rid of Kevan. To let Cersei be Cersei. Also, after Tommen and Myrcella will die and then so will Cersei. (Maggy the Frog's prophecy) However, I believe that even though she thinks that it's going to be Tyrion get kills her, it could be Jamie. If Valonqar is High Valyrian for little brother, Jamie is technically younger than her because she came out first. I loved that walk of shame though. Just like what Tywin did to his father's whore hahaha. Cersei is one of my favorite characters. In my opinion, she is the evil queen by which all evil queens should be judged.
Just read one of her chapters in ADwD last night. I agree, Cersei may look more subdued, but she isn't. Sure, it was traumatic for her, but she doesn't seem to be able to keep her wish for revenge at bay. Will be interesting to see how quickly her relation with the Tyrells will deteriorate in TWoW. And yes, there is no doubt in my mind that Jaime is the valonqar in her prophecy, it's just too good not to be true, and everything points to him not only abandoning her, but turning against her as well.

My only doubt that Jamie will be the one to kill her is that I fear that Brienne is leading him to a trap. We all know that the only TBWB and Lady Stoneheart would have let her go is if she agreed to kill Jamie. And when she finds Jamie, she lies about the hound having Sansa captive. What's that all about? Sooooo many questions...
@Maegor I couldn't believe it when I first read that chapter. That was such a powerful cliffhanger at the end of AFFC and bam! GRRM doubles it in ADWD. However, I don't think Brienne has the heart to let Jaime die. He lied to him, yes, but we don't know anything beyond their dialogue. They left together but maybe she told him on the way. Or maybe she'll intervene once he faces Catelyn. His dream with him and Brienne fighting the shadows that are judging him (even though that was in Casterly Rock) has to mean something. You fear that he won't be the valonqar because of Brienne, but am I am convinced he'll stay alive just enough to finish Cersei precisely because Brienne is there. GRRM spent two books building up their relationship (which ended up being based on admiration and trust), it seems unlikely that she'll lead him to his death.
@Macha I agree with you, and I don't think that GRRM would have Jamie go through all that just to die. A lot can happen between the time Brienne finds him and him having to face Catelyn. But what about Jon Snow? He's the one who's fate I'm most curious about. With so much speculation about his characters importance, I refuse to believe that he's dead. GRRM loooooves to fuck with us. People say that Jon made a bunch of stupid decisions but that couldn't be farther from the truth. I think that he's one of the best Lord Commanders in the history of the Night's Watch. He created a truce with the wildlings for fuck sake. He now realizes who the real enemy is and acts accordingly.
Actually, that would be an interesting topic on itself, and we don't have one for Jon yet. So I have just one request (as this is a topic speculating on Cersei's demise). You can start a topic discussing Jon (in the character analysis of the forum) or we can speculate on anything and anyone in the General book discussion topic. Just trying to keep things organized. Glad to have you here, and drop by the live chat if you like (it's at the bottom of each page, if you scroll down enough).
I actually don't want Cersei to die, as much as she should, if only as a mercy to release her from the fear and hate that has consumed her life. I think Tyrion will come close to killing her, but something/someone will stop him.

I think Jamie is her Valonquar. The situation with Aerys in the rebellion might repeat itself. I am busy with a reread on AffC and the scene where Cercei burns the tower of the Hand come to mind. Jamie is described watching her facial expression as she watches the fire. There will be a final war at KL and Cersei will threaten to burn down the city. Jamie will kill her to stop her.

That's what I also thought. But Jamie killing her would be so ironic though. When he burnt that letter, that's the feeling I got. He finally turned his back on her.

I probably could have entertained the idea before. I certainly read at some point that Jaime will be the one to kill her. But since the show has apparently completely done away with the idea of a real break between Jaime and Cersei at the end of this season (which is where the big split should have started) I cannot see it happenig. In fact at this point it looks like they are more united than ever.
Who are you talking to Ry?! Moi? According to you, you don't even remember who's of the night!
I think this prophecy with the Volonqar will come true though. They are bringing in Maggy the Frog for crying out loud. They're going full ASoIaF on this one. Unless they bring Maggy only to foreshadow the Margery/Cersei showdown as one younger queen is trying to replace her...
Umm, Ry you need to stop typing 'cause you are making me think of this stuff all over again!
