The stone age combat engine really put me off the game. With swordfighting games like assasins creed out there just simply having a "I hit you, you hit me" engine just doesn't cut it for me. And the gact that the original game doesn't allow fighting on horseback is just terrible. To me the game xomes down to something that could have been majestic but ultimately fell short of its promise. Assasins Creed 3 will show us what open world game are supposed to play like, I have no doubt!

Ok not currently playing this, but because BaS and I are Dragon age fans, imma drop this here. They released some concept art for Dragon Age 3. While this is not their best art, I really like the second and third setting because they remind me of the Brecilian Forest level (oh that eerie music..) and the snowy Warden's Keep, which I loved. I just hope they'll take their time with this, unlike the second installment, that could have used a bit more work.

Have you ever played Dead Island alone at night in a dark room? I can't do that for more than an hour, not cause I get scared, I just get so friggen tensed up it feels like my heart is gonna explode!
My Jon Snow does Dead Island, Left 4 Dead I and II, Killing Floor, Team Fortress II, World at War, and some other stuff.

Left 4 Dead with friends is quite an experience. Many a molotov have been "accidentally" thrown at an ally, in my experience. Though the accidental part may actually be true, considering the game tended to be accompanied by a lot of alcohol. But still, good times.
Ok Andrew so the lesson here is, when the Zombie apocalypse happens for real, don't go looking for your friends, you might just get singed by accident, alcohol or no.

Just saw Silent Hill with Sean Bean and Kit Harrington. Pass on it. Not really scary, Kit is a high school kid which is too hard to believe. Sean is a great dad in it and yeah, he does NOT die for once!

Started the GoT RPG. Ugh...The combat system is weird, took me ten mintes to figure out how to use the inventory to equip certain items, that dog is fugly and the voice ating is horrible, just horrible. Apart from Mormont and Varys so far. It will take a huge amount of will to finish this. BUT they get bonus points for that strenghts-weaknesses idea, don't think I've seen it before.
Macha the combat system actually gets very interesting and fun once your powers and abilities have branched out a little. I actually enjoyed the combat for most of the game.

Another weak point: camera control. Why can't it simply be controlled with the cursor, instead of having to click and hold the mouse button down? I'll get used to it, I guess, but for now it's a bit annoying. Aaw, I so hoped that the blacksmith that sells you things at Castle Black would be Donal Noye. Sadly, he has one arm too many. I also looked everywhere for Edd. The game probably couldn't handle his awesomeness. Just his luck. So which of the book characters are shown in the game?
Cersei, Varys, Lord Commander, Quorin and Maester Martin. I think they are the only ones. But Macha the story really is something quite special and really well written.
I'm having such withdrawal symptoms with Assasins Creed. I need my number 3 fix. What kind of sadist releases the pc version a month after the PS3 and XBOX verson?

Started playing Assassins Creed III yesterday, will write a full review as per Rygar's request when I am a bit further into the game. So far however I am impressed.
Got Walking Dead episode 5 today. I'm torn on which one to play! Damn you game makers! Luckily I have been unable to get my hands on a copy of Black Ops 2, cause having all three of them together would be a disaster. I would never leave the room, I'd end up something like this.

Finally finished the Walking Dead. I am absolutely gutted by the ending, how could I have expected anything less? Yet the acts of the saw had me hoping for something better. Yet I hoped in vain. I am so sad right now, never before have I connected with a character be it in a book, on screen, or in a game. Me sad now.

Gave up on the GoT RPG. I'm sorry, but the voice acting was *so* terrible, it completely ruined any strong points the game might have had....eventually.
- I took Clem with me to the school. - I let Ben die ( he was annoying the shit out of me and he seemed to want to die ) - When I got bit I freaked out and hid my bite - Only Kenny came with me to look for Clem.
What were your choices Aegon?

Episode was fine, it was not big on gameplay but I like how the story played out. I have been playing games for 20 years and this the first game to really effect me , I didn't cry but came pretty close.
My choices:
Spoiler
( I went back and made two other choices to see how they would play out: I saved Ben and did show my bite ).
Those two changes had a big effect as everyone came along to save Clem.
- I did not cut off my arm, I figured unless I cut it off on the spot, it was too late at that point. - Ben, did not even redeem himself in the end, that kid was a fuck up all the way to the end...lol - Poor Kenny, he died fighting tho....hmm...in hindsight I assumed he died, didnt see it happen tho. - I asked Omid and Christa to find Clem and save her. - I choked the creepy kidnapper and shot him in the head too. - I asked Clem to leave me to die, I could not make that poor kid shoot me after all she had been through.
How about you Aegon?
I liked the game, certianly in my top 10 of 2012.

Give me a good PC RPG to play pweeeease. I'm all out of ideas. I don't care much about graphics, but I do care about the story *and* the voice acting. These have to be good. That's why I stuck by Bioware's products since the days of KoTOR. And yes, I know Assassin's Creed is hailed by everyone as being great, but despite its many great features (oh that scenery!) I'm not sure I want to go back to it, because the character creation is extremely limited. Any new stuff in 2013 that I should look forward to? I'm dreading diving into Gamespot or IGN reviews, because I just know I'll be there all day. Thanksies.
PS: No horror stuff, I have enough trouble sleeping as it is.
Well Walking Dead would be a good place to start, although it's not a role playing game. Macha I cannot stress how much different Assassins Creed 3 is from the original. The original has become unplayable since Brotherhood came out. Otherwise Far Cry 3 is also a lot of fun when it comes to open games. Alan Wake is also a great game but might be perceived as scary by some. But for the true smash your pc in frustration at the difficulty RPG try Dark Soul. That's what I got on my front, not too many rpgs atm.

I initially thought Dark Soul is only for xbox and ps3. It appears there's a PC port, but there's talk of the controls making the combat feel clunky as hell if you don't use a controller.
Was just too short, was waiting so long for the finale and then it just was too short to be satisfactory. That being said very much looking forward to season 2. And when I originally came on here people nearly mocked me for being so affected by the game's ending.
Spoiler
-Cut my arm off. Not sure if I died from infection or bloodloss. Hey it's what I would've done in real life.
-Kenny dissapeared after helping Christa out of a hole.
-Was seperated from Crista and Omid and told them to come find me in a certain part of the city (bastards never did)
-Clem shot the kidnapper while I was wrestling with him (figured out who he was beforehand as the infamous car was parked outside)
-Asked Clem to leave me to die.
Did you watch the post credits scene?
Who do you think we will be playing as come season 2?

I just finished Alan Wake the other day and WOW was I impressed. The atmosphere, writing, acting and sound effects are some of the best I've ever encountered in a game. Such an underrated game I strongly urge anyone who's not played it to seek it out.
@Macha, why doesn't that surprise me? Just jump in there and start whooping ass. Who needs subtlety?
@Don, I love to play, but video games, especially good one, end up siphoning off way too much time once I start playing them. Something else would have to go. Like the dogs. Or showering. So no, that's not gonna work.
