That scene with Hank and Walter in the garage was intense, I can wait to see those two going head to head this season.

AMC’s Breaking Bad returned last night with the first of its eight final episodes, delivering 5.9 million viewers, the most in series history and up 102% over the show’s season five premiere last summer.

Lets pull that out. The show doubled its audience from last summer, which is really pretty remarkable, and a strong indication that a great number of people have caught up on the Breaking Bad in the past year. The ratings increase serves as a great example of the power of word of mouth on a series such as this one, as many caught up with Breaking Bad via Netflix, DVD and Blu-ray.

With 3.6 million viewers among adults 18-49, Breaking Bad is second only to AMC’s The Walking Dead in delivery to this key demographic, across all cable networks. With the success of these two shows, AMC is now home to cable’s top two dramas among adults 18-49

This show sure masters the "slow burn", that garage scene was amazing!

Dean Norris impressed me, he his character has come a long way from the jokey, obnoxious Hank from S1.

Good stuff! Only how many episodes left?!

Its amazing how much mileage the show can get from simple two person conversation scenes. But if they are so intense and well acted I am all for it.

Jesse snap out of his haze soon tho, its starting to get annoying.

Jesse's attitude really has become stale now, we've seen this before and it's slightly lazy to revert back to him looking sullen and making stupid decisions again. I thought when Gus and Mike took Jesse under their wing it was going to lead to him growing as a person and becoming a smarter criminal but nope seems like I was wrong.

One small issue I do have is with how quickly Hank and Marie have turned on Walt and Skylar, after years of knowing each other it's suddenly become black and white with a click of the fingers, sure things will get heated but when it comes to family you don't just hate them instantly. I can sympathize with Hank more because it could have huge ramifications for his career.

Jesse has been a non-factor in season 5, which is a pity because he pretty much stole the show in the first 4 seasons. Looks like an awesome scene is coming up though, Hank and Jesse together is always fireworks.

I don't have an issue with Hank&Marie turning on Walt&Skyler at all. Marie just flipped out knowing Skyler knew about all the shit when her husband was shot, she's choosing closest family first now.

Uff Skyler was soooo good this episode (hated her pretty much the rest of the show), she saved this episode imo, together with the Huell-scene. All the other scenes were pretty much lame, especially the opening, meth-lab shootout and Walt not getting the Belize reference, it's like he is a mastermind in one episode and the biggest derp in the other one.

Personally I've never been a huge fan of Jesse, he's always irritated me.

Am I the only person who doesn't find Walter a monster? All of the media who review the episodes keep referring to him as a monster and I just don't see it. To me he's always been a man who's went to extreme measures to care for his family.

I loved the moment when Walt turned the tables on Hank, that was genius.

Ugh for a moment there I thought finally Jesse was going to be out of the show, but then they just had to take Jessie's dope off him, damn you Saul.

Argh, so good!

Jesse grew a brain and some balls.
Yes I loved the reverse-confession scene, that was riveting and oh so well done.
This season is nailing the cliffhangers, I keep forgetting the show is 45 mins and not an hour!

I still have a feeling Walt doesn't have it in his heart to kill Jessie, he loves him like a son. You're right though with Walt calling Todd and asking for his crazy supremacists relatives things will get ugly. Something tells me either Marie or Skylar won't make it till the last episode.

Wow what an episode!

Couple things slightly bugged me

1. With the firepower Todd's relatives and their crew were packing I find it hard to believe that not one single bullet clipped Gomez or Hank, perhaps they're leaving it till the next episode but still it made me think of that scene from Pulp Ficition " we should be fucking dead."

2. Did Hank really have enough evidence to arrest Walt? I take it Hank recorded the call between Walt and Jessie and that was enough?

Now I have to wait another week
