Ever had that gut feeling that Rhaegar is alive and disguised as Stannis, but never mentioned it out of fear of being ridiculed? Then this is the place for you.
Rhaegar and Stannis?oh that's so twisted Macha... I´m sure you have your theory, do tell.

And that sword shall be Lightbringer, the Red Sword of Heroes, and he who clasps it shall be Azor Ahai come again, and the darkness shall flee before him."
Ergo, Dolorous Edd Tollet is Azor Ahai. You know it's true.

Rhaegar=Darkstar? Yeah I've read that but isn't Darkstar slightly younger? And wouldn't people in Dorne KNOW him?! Or did you mean that Darkstar is Azor Ahai?

lol that is a sentence that I can hear coming from Edd´s mouth. You might want to replace some of those words for turnip.

In this dread hour a warrior shall draw from the fire a burning turnip. And that turnip shall be Lunchbringer, the Red Turnip of Heroes, and he who clasps it shall be Azor Ahai come again, and the hunger shall flee before him.

Lovin' it.

So I have a theory that will make Macha point at me and shout blasphemer! So let's go on Mellisandre's word that there are only two gods, R'hllor and the Great Other who cannot be named. Based on what I've seen of R'hllor and his power "sacrificing children and people to the flames, shadow baby etc etc." I'm thinkin the great Other might not be evil. The Others might not be evil! Let's face it the humans in Westeros are quite fucked up and more often than not they are freakin evil! Those who are good are so in the minority and usually so without power that they cannot make a change. Therefore like with the flood of Noah the Great Other in his infinite wisdom has decided to wipe away the filth by sending his pure and good servants the White Walkers to convert all humanity to the eternal and neutral state of blisful dead. Come on nothing in the text suggests that the wights are unhappy.

that was quick!

This is great and I agree with you the Others might not be the great evil but more than anything I agree with this...

But this...

is just evil.

That's not entirely crackpot. I have yet to be convinced that the Others are any more evil than anybody else.

When is garb is described, I think rubies appear nine out of ten cases. Preeeeetty sure the glamour would have to be worn on the skin (Mel has a necklace, Mance has some sort of bracelet) in order to work but hey, this is crackpot land! Everything works here!
I think Oathkeeper also has rubies? Or just a lion's head? Ok this is crackpot, but serious crackpot: Azor Ahai will bring destruction, and not salvation. I remember reading a theory once that made a connection between Azor Ahai and Lucifer, because the latter has also been named "Bringer of Light", among other things. Now this somehow goes against my other crackpot theory that Jon will come back and actually lead the Others, but who knows, maybe there's a way around it. Azor Ahai bringing destruction only works for me if Jon is Azor Ahai, or Bran, because I see them both veering towards the "dark side". Jon fits a bit better, because in ADwD Bran is more and more associated with darkness, instead of light.
Ok crackpot theory, but a serious one. What if the "younger queen" from Cersei's prophecy isn't a queen at all? ... "I will be queen, though?" asked the younger her. "Aye." Malice gleamed in Maggys yellow eyes. "Queen you shall be . . . until there comes another, younger and more beautiful, to cast you down and take all that you hold dear."
I know most of us think of Margaery, Sansa or Dany but...what if it's Taena Merryweather? She's described as being very beautiful, even Cersei mentions it, she's younger aaand I've always found her sudden interest in Cersei rather suspicious. Also, Cersei seems to trust her, so that would only increase the surprise. Pam pam!

but of course, Taena is Talisa. I've proven that uncontestably.

This belongs in the Patchface thread but I will say that my theory is that Patchy is the by product of Ned and Ashara's romance. I will explain in that thread.

I was watching a history of the world programme today and they mention some ancient conqueror type that died of dysentery or some such, it got me to thinking how funny it would be if that is what GRRM has in mind for Dany! I seem to remember her having the runs out in the wilderness.....
Well he's definitely setting the stage for a greyscale epidemic in Westeros, I think. At least my baby Shireen will be safe. The flux was imminent in Mereen, you can't have a siege without it. With Dany, it's difficult to tell because of those damn berries. Was it the flux or was it the berries? I'm leaning towards the latter, simply because the flux might have come with fever (?) and she had no signs of that. She only started cramping after she ate those green berries, but that looks like it won't hold any weight in the future, she seemed to feel better by the end. Hey but maybe Daario could die...of dysentery! Or anything else, for that matter.

That conqueror should be Hernán Cortés? not ancient though. After AdWd I don´t think so Yvy, too much unresolved but... you never know.

There are hints that Jeyne (Robb's Westerling bride) was pregnant. The Direwolf flag was flying at Riverrun, after Robb's death. When Riverrun was surrendered to Jaime and company, the Direwolf flag was not flying, Jeyne's little sister and the Blackfish were missing. Hmm, It sure seems that Lady Westerling would have a motive to cover for her daughter disappearing with the Blackfish. She could substitute her younger daughter, saying that she would not willingly give up her the crown (which disappears, strangely enough) to account for the wound that is inflicted to ensure that she does the stand-in job without question. That Jeyne's little sister is standing in for Jeyne is also given away by one reference to her as Lord Westerling's little girl, which should have been worded as Robb's wife, and which Jaime abruptly interrupts. Jaime may actually be aware of what is going on, but does not want it in the open.
The problem with that theory, from my point of view, is: why would Jeyne's mother, the one who gave her moon tea to begin with, help her escape when they already have secured a pardon for their family? And another thing, I remember Jaime's scene with 'Jeyne' and her mother, and the really seemed dstraught and angry with her family. She even started crying. Was that just an act, played by someone else? Hmmm. I think this could be a case of fans wanting to cling to the significance of a character because they're still attached to Robb and the whole heir of Winterfell business. To me, Jeyne was written as a bland character and has already fulfilled her part in the series. I'd love for the theory to be real, to be sure, but I think this may be just wishful thinking. My theory, based on nothing is that she will probably end up killing herself. But the Blackfish, now that's an interesting one. Some think he's the hooded man in Winterfell but I don't think he could have made it that far in such a short time. I'm guessing he's still in the Riverlands somewhere.
