Our local castle ... Continuously occupied for over nine centuries it was originally the home of the Umfravilles but was eventually taken over by the famous Percy family( who were the most powerful noble family in Northern England for much of the Middle Ages) who restored it. Surviving two sieges during the 1170s , it was the only Northumberland castle to resist the Scots.
Henry Percy, the sixth Earl of Northumberland, loved Anne Bolyn, and was her accepted suitor before Henry VIII unfortunately discovered the lady's charm.
This is at the end of my street !

Damnit Yvy I am green with envy! If I'd grown up near that I'd visit everyday!
I have certainly been a lot over the years , more so when the kids were little ... the views are taking from the far side ... it's absolutely a biult up area everywhere else. Factories where the mote would have been ! It is so funny , we do take it for granted. It 's visable all over and we must pass it at least 4 times a day if not more! They do events over the summer and I 've never been to one ! Ever!

Go once for me please! I would love to have a castle in my background! Probably the thing I hate most about SA is no medieval history!

I see some Daniel Radcliffe in Equus there. These are great, Mags, I love the "pheasants" one! Those look like guinea fowls? Those colours work really good on wood.

I love the hens (or are they pheasants?) in the wood!

She is quite special, we were friends for years before I had the guts to officially tell her how I felt, thankfully it worked out cuz she was my best friend and I would've been quite sad if I ruined things.

Hahaha nah for our family he's small, he's bout nine months now! When I was born I was the length of a pillow! My brother wasn't much smaller. Andrea that's why I took the photos while everybody were still behaving themselves. Can you believe my cousin used to be a pro body builder, and now he looks like that! Coca Cola is an unforgiving bitch!

Braaivleis. BAS we call that huge slab of meat a Texan Steak, so I guess we borrowed from you guys on that one. But Afrikaners Braai's are certainly something special. Oh and South African sausage is called Boerewors and it's not that bad. Simply minced beef in a intestine, nothing nasty bout it. My brother and I look so much alike that when looking at baby photos we have to look at the environment to determine who the baby is. We look eerily similar.

Always nice to see new photos! Aegon - wow, that's a big family. Those reunions must be something. And that barbecue (what was the word for it in afrikaans?) looks great.... *wipes drool from the keyboard* Also, you and your brother could be twins!
Aegon, whatever that slab of meat is, I want some. (No, not the sausages. I know how sausage is made.) What kind of meat is that, and what is used to season it? My stomach is growling just looking at it. Plus, I haven't had lunch yet.
DNA that's basically what it looks like every Saturday there's a big Rugby game on. This Saturday is the Currie Cup semi fizinals so there will be another one.

I'm thinking for the GOT premier we do it SA style, Chop and Dop beforehand. A good kuier and then we all shut up and watch what those Walkers will do the Night's watch.

So this guy joined us for lunch. And toward the end of lunch, without knowing my interest, pointed to the logo on his bag.

That sounds perfect.
Here's Linkin Park this weekend, Soccer City Stadium, Johannesburg. It was EPIC.

This is my cabin. It's at very high altitude and very remote. It takes me three hours to drive there, but every time I do, I'm glad I did. It's a great little getaway.
