I think one of the outlaws, or Lady Stoneheart herself tells her something along the lines of "what is your choice? The sword, or the noose?" The sword meaning service, in this case. Not for Jaime, but for Catelyn.
I think Podric escaped (Brienne was doing this for him, after all), but I'm not sure about Ser Hyle.

The word that Brienne shouts out at the end of AFFC is "sword!" according to GRRM. Why does this save her? I know where the sword comes from. I just don't understand why this would motivate Lady Stoneheart to cut her down.
Also, does this save Podrick Payne and Ser Hyle Hunt as well?
The sword says to me "Ice". It's made from Ned's sword. I'm hoping Lady Stoneheart saw this and is reaffirming with Brienne her vow. Her vow to Lady S and to Jaime. As if to say she's giving Brianne one more chance to fulfill her vow. After all, she vowed to Cat to find the girls and keep them safe. Not Robb or anyone else, to Cat. My .

Der... how did I miss that little question? I'm so glad Podrick is free. He's a good fellow.

I can't think of anything constructive to say other than I love this character ! And the actress is spot on ! I love the banter between her and Jamie and the developing respect... can't wait to see where that is heading ... or is it now doomed ....

I sure hope Lady S.... gets the message. I have been secretly holding onto this very thought Lady Lyanna and Aegon
the Conqueror. Pulleeezzzeeeee don''t let GRRM mess this up.
She is such a great character, I love the book version slightly better as we know what she goes through, her doubts of performing in battle and her first kill was a significant victory for her psychologically.
Tv Brienne is a badass that just cuts people down left and right, and I hope they explore her inner struggle a bit more next season.

I too, don't think we get the book internal POV, regarding her being raised as able to learn to wield a sword, combat, and serving a Lord as a Knight. That her father had no surviving sons but allowed her to be put in a "son's role" yet still treated her like his daughter, even proud of her. We don't have the time on HBO, which is too bad, to show it.

If Brienne actually takes Jaime all the way to meet Lady Stoneheart I am going to be devastated.
I cannot wait to see how that scene will play out. You know it's coming Al!!! Better prepare yourself for it. That is if Martin finally bestirs himself to publish those books.
The resolution of that scene is what eats me up the most of all the lose bits at the end of ADWD. I know it's gonna shatter my heart in pieces one way or the other!

I can live with that, but only if she decides to fight for him or secure his release some other way. If either of them dies, THEN I'll be devastated. Really. Don't go there, GRRM, or I will find you and *insert random Psycho Hobbit torturing technique here*.

I have a feeling is gonna cull a lot of characters to start streamlining the story.
Brienne seems to have finished her usefullness and I see her dying for Jaime in the next book.
Oooh, imagine her offing Stoneheart!

How would one off the UnDead Cat? I never fully understood the Dondarrion deaths and revivals. Are they undead as in alive or are they undead as in Zombie. Beric seemed to go zombie or at least partially. All very mysterious.
But yes, if Brienne offs Cat and then dies for Jamie, that would certainly be something to read!
Rhaegar, despite wounding Robert, was struck down with a massive blow from Robert's warhammer, which scattered the rubies encrusted in Rhaegar's armor under the water. Rhaegar died with Lyanna Stark's name on his lips.
Beric: "Was it a hanging or a dagger in the eye?" Thoros: "Both. Fuckers couldn't decide."
I suppose the dagger in the eye was a bit of a Lannister trademark overkill
I cannot remember if this is a book question. Arya's that is. I was not such a fan of the show, but the book you'd think I'd remember. So if Brienne parts head from body, Thoros has no way of reviving UnCat again, and she'll stay dead.
