I really liked first season, except the last episode but season 2 is pretty amazing for now. Acting and directing are wonderful yes.

Don, hurry up!!! Episode 3 is amazing! Very good tv. It´s a drama lesson that teaches you to make a great scene, full of tension, just changing a car wheel. Damien Lewis acting chops are incredible. All of them. I hate Morena Vacarin´s character with passion, but she was very good too. And Claire Daines... well, hurry up Don!!!

Oh I saw it, most Tv shows I catch up on on Mondays....this is a very smart Tv show...but I have no idea what will happen next since it seems the cat is out of the bag.

I loved this episode, it was a lot of fun and the ending!!!!!!!!! Claire Danes always makes me feel every single thing her character is feeling. She's so amazing.
That said, I found the whole car wheel change subplot more fit for a dark comedy sequence than this show. It was funny, but ridiculous imo. I mean, he's probably their most valuable asset atm. THE most valuable person they have in the entire country at least. They would never risk exposing him or worse just to get a very minor player out of harms way. If they couldn't send anyone else to help him escape, they would have sent someone to kill him. They would have never risked him. And then, come on... Would he do what he did while talking to his wife. Wouldn't he have hung up and called her later? How stupid is he supposed to be?

Agreed, 100%. While it might seem like a dumb move by Abu Nazir...why did the instruction come from the woman? Maybe she wanted Brody to be exposed for some reason. We'll see, the show tends to play things smarter than most other ones.

hmmm... that's interesting. I didn't think she could be playing him.

Like when Saul got stopped by customs and his memory card confiscated, I went "ugh, stupid show, that's how he loses the evidence and they are back to square one!"
But no, Saul was smart enough to copy the video file and hide it carefully. So I'll give the show the benefit if the doubt for now.

Ah, but that´s the beauty of it, the mess of the unexpected (though probable) and there is nothing that will produce more tension than the untidiness, the possibility of an error. Life is messy, also war and terrorism. Why heed the call of the wife? because you have no choice, you have to keep lying. He doesn´t want to be what the others wants for him. Nicholas isn´t James Bond ni Abu Nazir es M. And Carrie? Do you want more messy than that? They´re on the edge… of everything And yes, Roya, is quite suspicious but I think Don is right, with this show you must wait. We´re talking about very secretive and dangerous people and we know…. What exactly about them? Nothing. That´s the beauty of it all. This is what I like about this story, I can´t speculate (not that I do that with any other show) but most of all… it´s a show that dares to get closer to dangerous areas for drama, where making mistakes is very easy. You have to have big balls as a writer to mix drama, danger and every day life conflicts in a single scene.

I only watched up to episode 8, acting was good, but the story seemed to move at a murderously slow pace and bored me to tears. I forgot it was on one night, realised it a week or two later and just felt the story did not impact me deeply enough to actually finish the series. Maybe it's cause I'm not American, I dunno.

Aegon, watch the final two episodes. That is ( for me at least) where the show went from good to great. Yes the show moves slow, but I don't mind, sometimes slow is good ( am I right ladies?)

Andrea I'm just saying the reasons why it won most of the Emmy's is exactly the same reason why I don't completely get it. The rerun is on M-net Series atm, maybe I'll catch the last episodes.

Gotta say Homeland pulls stuff in their first 4 episodes what most shows use as season finales. Just when I think they will just settle down and spin their wheels it just goes straight for the kill, I like it, I like when a show is not predictable and I honestly have NO idea what they will do next.

That´s what I meant. You have to have balls for write this way. It´s almost scary. I love it.

How about episode 5 Don? a bit predictable or there was no other way to go? Am I crazy or this episode was practically a single scene?

While I did think that him becoming a double agent was the logical step. It was really amazing acting. And yes I think more than half the episode was the interrogation scene.
The acting in the show is amazing.

I read they had renewed homeland for a fourth season just before watching last episode so I knew what was going to happen, given that it was really the ONLY way to go. But hell what a scene that interrogation one was. Yes, it was practically the whole episode but man, was it worthy. That part when we're all longing for him to say yes, and the pain of the wait is almost physical... Loved it.

What if Abu Nazir finds out he turned his back on him? I have a feeling things are gonna get very bad.
he will find out.

ok, I´m not crazy. That´s Abu Nazir right? oh, I like this series. You would think Brody wants to be with her just to avoid having tolieall day long ... but no, it´s just a moment. They can´t stop lying, they can´t trust. What a nightmare. Just one thing I don´t like, the plot with Brody´s daughter. I like the acting but not the plot. I´ll wait, you never know.

Yeah the daughter is good, though I am wondering where they were going with that storyline.
The last ep was not going much anywhere till the last 10 minutes, is it just me or did all Tv shows start loving killing mayor characters!?!?
I hope there are survivors to that shoot out.
There wasn´t mayor characters Don, and the douche will survive.

Am I the only one quite disappointed with the last episode?
I'll spoiler tag it just in case someone didn't see it yet. idk.
Spoiler
I mean... They don't trust Brody, but they give him the address of their hideout and they tell him (highly inexperienced at the "spy arts") to just come over, not even worried that anyone might follow! That's like rule 101 of spying!
And then... The other guys were sitting on highly compromising material they needed to move for two weeks, when they already knew the place would be found and search or so they said in the car tyre episode? And then they remove it comando style??
There was more, but i forget...

Yep, Tir, maybe you´re alone with this. I don´t give a damn about certain details.
Last episode: Really like it. Have to think what exactly I like about this show... notyetdissect it the thing. The Dana plot makes sense now… it is a bit obvious but I can wait... tho I´m like Mrs. Brody right now: “I can´t take another lie”. C´mon.
One time, ONE TIME Nick says the truth (to Rex, the rich guy) no one believes him. Sorry luv. It appears the world don´t work that way.
“Two minutes with you and I feel good” yay!, 1 second later... “How you pulled that off?” Ugh. Nice scene.
Finally Mrs Brody show some ovaries!!! Tell the truth woman, be a parent!
“I don´t give a fuck! She´s my daughter!”...Oh wait you can´t…. Carrie, sucks to be you, really.
That shot in the pool… I don´t know why I was hoping to hear some Massive Attack right there.
Aw, Saul stop crying big man, this is not a job for you. I told you already: he´s Abu Nazir. Get a grip!
WUT? Cheap wine from San Juan, Argentina??? DA FUCK? It´s my favourite! You know shit about wine CIA!

I liked it, but it was a filler episode. They still resolved some loose threads like the girl terrorist and the hit and run. I think it was well written.
I have NO idea where the relationship of Carrie and Brody is going, these two are so self destructive yet drawn to each other, it can only end in disaster.

Well, Mr. Tir thinks the same so that makes us two
Seriously now, for me those aren't "details". Details are 30 years passing and people only showing one silver hair, sound in space, wrong period weapon, buenos aires looking like bulgaria... But when people's actions defy logic to me its like someone pulled a curtain and all of a sudden i can see the microphone bobbing up and down, it takes me right out of the story, and for something as good as Homeland I expect better cause I know they can do better.

Sorry Tir, I know what you mean but still there´s things that really don´t bother me at all. Too many movies in my head maybe.

Yep, Dana, your world is shit, I´m sorry cause you´re very young.
But I´m PISSED. US young people have conscience and shit but we don´t???? DA FUCK? Why the latin girl HAS to be that way?... We, people of the thirdworld with stereotyped spanish names, also have moraland conscience you know...
I should make a list with spanish names and send it to the CIA and Hollywood. We have many and very beautiful names. Not all of us are María, Juan, Pepe or Dolores.

Ok...I dunno...the last episode was just silly, all the smarts and goodwill was just chucked out the door. The whole cat-and-mouse game in the tunnels was just stupid....*sigh*....the rest was pretty good though. Now that
Spoiler
Abu Nazir is dead...shame I thought he was interesting
...what is next?

I don´t really understand now Don, to be honest. Yes, last episode was silly. I´m just still stunned. Some acting problems too. Meh, we´ll see. I´m enjoying Secret State.

Saw the last episode Don? For a moment I thought, oh no, same plot, please don´t but now... I still need to know the screenwriters. They´re crazy people. The douche turned out not to be a douche, not that I don´t like a rebel but it´s a bit out of place now. This is not a comic. What do you think?

I absolutely loved the finale. All the first half hour I was going "meh"... it felt like a nice but bloated coda... And then BOOM! they litteraly blow me appart, open themselves a path for a great new season, fix up a lot of issues... Wasn't expecting that at all and loved every second of it. Plust the acting. As usual! Fantastic.

Jesus I give this trailer a chance and I was pulling my hairs out after 10 seconds again, ugh. I'll keep monitoring this thread if the show can redeem itself after an ADWD of a second half of a season they pulled off last year.
Yeah my love for Homeland evaporated during season 2, it started with Brody confessing and then completely went during that ridiculous sex scene with Carrie.
Still I must admit that was a really strong trailer. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't going to watch season 3.
