Wow. Just, wow. 1968 is destined to be a memorable year. Love how they started in Hawaii. It made me think of all those TV shows at the time that had a special Hawaii episode. And Elvis' Blue Hawaii.

I'm glad to see that Don is still with Megan, because the Season 5 closing seemed to indicate they were already moving apart. Which may still happen.
I loved how Betty's Mother in law was trying to get her out of the ticket. That women is frightening!
And Sally is getting so big!

Pete doing this whole "I want to be Don" act is so good, Don is being Don, and Peggy has this great chemistry with the bearded guy on the phone, I'm just loving that. Also loving that nice nurse from ER (the show).
I may sound like a dick but somehow every episode without Betty is better than with her in it.

Just caught up on Season 7. Jesus fucking christ, what the hell was that last episode about? That was even crazier than "The Crash". How long has Ginsberg been insane for?

Anyway!!! Just saw Sunday's Mad Men. I have been waiting for a scene like Bertram Cooper's dance number ever since I saw Robert Morse in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
Also, it looks like they were actually just trolling us and didn't really kill off Megan in a Manson-like style. :)

I'm really upset about Betty, having fast-acting lung cancer, but with all the smoking on the show, it was bound to happen sooner or later. Let's hope that Don is around to take custody and responsibility for his life before it's over with.
And I'm so into Pete and Trudy getting back together. That scene gave me all the feelz.

The end was perfection. PERFECTION. NIRVANA even. I'm stoked.
I'm thrilled that Mad Men ends at just about the time that my earliest life memories come about, at the age of 4 years old. Watching Sesame Street and remembering that Coca Cola advertisement when it was new.

I didn't like the last few episodes that much, felt a bit rushed and then it went out with a sizzle. The Peggy, Joan and Betty storylines all felt very shoehorned in. Then again, I can't think of anything that would have made it much better, this show never was meant to go out with a bang but instead would show us how time would catch up with a lot of characters. Still, a bit too much cheese to my liking.
I agree with Cary, perfect ending to a fantastic series. I shall miss Mad Men greatly.
Poor Sally though, everyone seemed to find some sort of peace and happiness except for her, she's going to have to watch her mother succumb to cancer and raise her two little brothers
I am late to this, but I finally watched the entire series this year. It was so well put together and the consistency of the story lines and the way they wove together to the conclusion was magnificent.
As much as I heard about the series, I made it to the finale with no idea how it was going to end and I am so glad that I didn't know because it took me by surprise. It was darn near perfect (with yeah, the exception of Betty's kids and Glen).
Nightmares. Damn I was not expecting that, especially from Mad Men. It's the lawnmower incident all over again
Why aren't we talking about this! Great season so far, is he gonna jump?
