lazy ass you say? I don´t even know why I posted in the other thread, maybe because I forgot so many things about the books that I feel like a non reader sometimes. So I´ll copy paste what I wrote in the other thread until I found some questions to ask to you people with memory. I guess my questions will be about Stannis and Mel and that scene I can´t swallow.
Tir! need you here for a few laughs! For a moment I thought Hot Pie´s wolf-bread was a.... CREMONA!!! you want WUT? mister, you want nothing from no one. Show them your big :blueballs: NOW!
TROLOLOLOL thread is not letting me being a lazy ass... the only thing I can copy from the other thread was the sentence about the Cremona... WTF?

Love the scene with Pod! Tyrion and Bronn wanting juicy details, lol. Musical chairs around the small counsel table. Sooo sad to leave with the wolf bread. Like the , poor Edmure, jeez. Can't win for losing. Miss Cat being with Hoster when he died, things they talked about. Thought Robb's speech was great. Glad they had Jaime talk about the sapphires. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the Ironborn kill Ramsey? Thought so, but not beyond a shadow of a doubt.

What? were they watching the same thing ? Ok so I had had a bottle of wine it was VERY late ... but I was overcome with emotions .
Big hands up to the Mereenese knot , guess that's the contortionist they signed up a few months back Brienne a and Jaime were Fab ! Everything I wanted from that sceen , apart from the lisp... Sapphires didn't sound the same ...
I cried with Cat ... laughed out loud with the chair scene and Pod the stud .... who knew ?
My on gripe is... why take away from Little finger ,his scheming... Tywin telling him to marry Lysa? That's not right is it?
Anyways, overall , I loved it ! (oh and I still want Dany to reveal she understands what the Slaver is saying... maybe she will in the END.
Oh and the Deliverance scene , I was going to vomit if they went thro' with that! Good ol' Boy saves the day

This might just be my fave episode this season, even when I knew things were coming...the big moment...Jaimes hand. It was still super intense and crazy....will be back for a full writeup later.

I'm just gonna do a standing ovation for the Mereenese Knot. So the Lannister boys are gonna get killed by Lord Karstark, right? Oh yeah, remembered the only thing I disliked about the episode. Could Dany be any more obvious in her intentions? Zero surprise when it happens now.
Reading so many posts at WIC saying the episode was "boring" or the "worst ever" makes me want to sever all ties with that place. Opinions are one thing, but idiocy is another.

You know what's really weird? Compared to this one, I thought the first two episodes were kind of meh, and (with the exception of that infamous Cat-Talisa scene) the majority of people there seemed to love those. So I've made my peace with it. This was one of the few episodes that I wanted to rewatch just as soon as it ended, and I don't get that often, not even with GoT.
PS: Forgot to say that the council scene was also a clever way to throw in some exposition, they should use of it more often.

yes, this. I read the comments on Wic, just a bit, and I thought the same and the first two episodes were less than meh for me but my first reaction with this one was "wow, that was gooooood", I felt hooked for the first time and today I still remember some faces: you my dear, the Blackfish, Jaime, Tyrion, Tywin and Cersei at the Council (that was fun), Punk Joe-Locke, Arya smiling, Stannis... greed?, Cat talking about how she waited for her father, Edmure... shame? hmmm was that really shame? the hug between Tormund and Mance, Ciaran Hinds voice. All little shots, details, close ups, some endearing little things, humor!... and yes last episode I said Got was impossible for me to re-watch but I did re-watch this one.
PUNK is GLORIOUS people, is the right music to troll and I´d love if GoT get increasingly punk with each episode (I didn´t even like the song btw).
Oh yes, forgot that it was LF who planned the whole let´s trap cray cray Lisa. I guess this must have a point but book LF is still better for me.

Cat talking about how she waited for her father, Edmure... shame? hmmm was that really shame? the hug between Tormund and Mance (...)
At first when Michelle started crying I thought for a second "oh not again, please...", but when she ended up talking about Bran and Rickon waiting for her it felt like a punch in the gut. Great, great scene. And I think Tobias Menzies is doing wonders with Edmure, I do hope they'll give him a few extra scenes along the way.
Mance and Tormund have good chemistry together, it really feels like they go back a long way. It's too bad Hinds doesn't seem to be doing much this season, but he'll get his chance later on, I'm not worried.

I don't read there anymore but I kind of agree. I only watched it once but this episode, as with the other two were ok. Imo It has highs and lows with more highs than lows but the writing is still sub par. I have many non book reader friends who are enjoying it, but they just wish it wasnt so slow....the show needs more consistant action and better scripts to fully utilize the tremendous talent it has with its actors.

In an interview they hinted that it was still coming, just moved later. They established the dragon glass stash last season, and it's use is very specific, so methinks we still will get our Slayer.

Okay so I really miss Vargo Hoat. I wanted to see how Sapphires was going to translate to screen . But the changes are very well considered. Bring on left handed Jaime!

Tir this is from the other thread, here are my thoughts on Stannis:
Lady Black, we are really seeing Stannis at his lowest point here. His fleet and army scattered, he is holed up in Dragonstone.
He is a man that is addicted, addicted to what he thinks is owed to him, chasing slights real ( Joffrey ) or imagined ( Robb ), addicted to the sex and power she gave to him.
And seeing her leave is almost like an addict being jerked away from his drug cold turkey, and in a way it will be good, without her whispering in his ear, he will have Davos to speak some sense into him, and he might find his emotional center when he has more time with his wife and daughter.
I am looking forward to the next Stannis scenes.

so what u stannis fans think of the mel scene at the beach? I enjoyed it, but I see a lot of people upset about it?

I really don't understand what all the fuss is about re: the beach scene. Is it the fact that he's needy? Is it the fact that he doesn't show remorse over Renly? Is it the fact that he shows lust? Andi mentioned something, maybe she has a better perspective, but as far as I'm concerned his character is not that changed from the books. He spends practically all his time with her, he's not a machine ffs. And yes, they probably screw even without creating shadow babies, don't ask me how that works though. Pull-out method? Otherwise that line in ADwD about Mel not using her bed would make no sense whatsoever. As for his neediness and desperation, I agree with Don 100%. Also, that scene was fffgreat. Van Houten could have been better, but maybe she couldn't concentrate. I would've had that problem.
yes, Stannis beach scene. I wasn´t upset of course but I thought it was... hmmm sloppy... nop, not the word, weak...no, grrrr , clumsy? maybe, I just need to find the word in spanish.
I think what Don said was kind of purrrrfect, all of it but this "addicted to what he thinks is owed to him" is truetruetrue. He is now at his worst, no doubt about it. But he´s still Stannis. I don´t really care for the changes btw. What I found "clumsy" was Mel. She was... "ugly", I can´t quite explain it. The stupid faces... We know this woman has resources and knows where to tickle Stannis but that scene was yes, ugly and not very clever, the writing was terrible imo and that hurt the acting... and ffs I´d love a director really helping the actors. Yes, they are great but c´mon, do your job. This character (Mel) can´t be so blatant, she should know what kind of man he is and not treat him like a derp, so that makes me think they are making a mistake with Stannis. But you know, I´m always wrong so. Plus he will spend some time with Davos now. We need you beardo.
Yes Macha is right, I would have problems to concentrate because he was effin hot in that scene.

i love your "addicted" take on it, Don. Very well put, and I agree. I liked that scene, but I saw so much written about it that I was dieing to know what the resident Stannisists thought.

So here's a theory I came up with this morning: we will see Sam the Slayer when Craster has put the baby in the bushes. Sam will want to save it and has to kill the White Walker.

I like that theory.

I like it too, but..hmmm but what about the mutiny at Craster's? If he leaves the baby out before he gets killed, wouldn't that mean that Sam won't be there for Mormont's death - if he's too busy saving the little one? I personally think the "slayer" scene will happen after ep. 4. If Mormont's death is in the next episode (and it should be, judging by the title), I think that's enough for one episode, and that the attention shouldn't shift on Sam.
