I just hope Lex Luther is still a part of the movie, Man of Steel set it up so perfectly for Lex to come into the sequel and ramp up humanity's fears about this alien with incredibly dangerous powers.
The problem with DC's movie universe is that they have provided NO continuity with each other.
Marvel has done an incredibly good job in linking their characters, to the culmination resulting in the Avengers movie.
So Cavill will be superman, but I thought Bale was done with Batman. So are we getting a new batman for this film?
Not off to a good start I am afraid.

I agree Warner Bros haven't done a great job building up the DC universe but it seems they are finally willing to try. I forgot to say WB are also planning a Flash movie for 2016 and a Justice League movie for 2017.
Snyder has already said that Nolan/Bale's Batman trilogy isn't in the same universe as the Man of Steel one. I'd love to see Bale return as Batman but unless he's dedicated to helping build towards a Justice League movie I doubt he'll be asked.
Also given the choice between rebooting Batman with another origin story or having him appear alongside Superman I'll choose the latter. Wayne/Batman is like Bond we really should just be able to jump into his movies right off the bat now.
Yeah, but thats like saying you would introduce the new Bond in a Jason Bourne flick. A new Batman deserves his ownn movie. Otherwise its like, "who the fuck are you, man"

Eh not really, that's a horrible analogy Rygar lol.
It's also a smarter idea to hold off on a stand alone Batman movie considering by the time Man of Steel 2 arrives it will only have been three years since The Dark Knight Rises.
It was always going to be a new actor, Bale has said multiple times he's finished playing the character.
I have no problem with Affleck playing Batman, he's got the looks, physique and chin for the role. Ben has grown a lot since the days of Daredevil and Gigili, he worked his ass off to get back on his feet. Check out Ben's performance in Hollywoodland, that's the moment people began to take him seriously as an actor again.
Frankly we should all be grateful WB choose to continue going with a mature Batman when most studios would have rebooted the series with a young pup.
I love the fact we're going to see a grizzled, veteran Batman clash with Superman. I expect them to have Batman play mind games more than actually have him physically fighting with Kent.
I don't believe for a moment that Ben Affleck has the same range as Heath Ledger, but I'll wait to see footage before making a decision one way or the other.
But Lady Black, it's the internetz! We GOTTA jump to conclusions!!
The silly backlash is pretty hilarious on its own.

Personally I would've liked to see him direct, because he never blew me away as an actor.
I'm reserving judgment. I would have expected Heath Ledger to be a terrible Joker, but he redefined the character in the most brilliant way possible. I don't believe for a moment that Ben Affleck has the same range as Heath Ledger, but I'll wait to see footage before making a decision one way or the other.
The good news about Ben accepting the role is it probably will lead to him directing Justice League or another Batman outing, plus now that he's made Warner Bros happy he's going to be given even more freedom to direct his own pet projects. I mean Gone Baby Gone, The Town and Argo are all oustanding IMO and I really enjoyed them.
Also interestingly Ben is suppose to be the biggest actor to play the role, physically that is. He's what 6'3 and roughly about 220-230lbs? he's going to look badass in the outfit and won't look out of place standing next to Henry Cavill.
Driver was just a rumor, even if he was up for MOS 2 seems like it was a scheduling clash. I love Monaghan but nothing about her screams Amazonian warrior.
