It was fantastic. Great writing, directing and acting. Some of what happened was pretty well telegraphed beforehand, but there were some surprises. Obviously Nucky was going to get off the hook. The marriage was predictable, but Jimmy's role in taking care of witnesses wasn't. Jimmy's poor decision-making and his lack of willingness to take advice from those who know better reminded me of Robb Stark. I didn't expect him to die this way, and I'm sad to see him go. Mostly because Richard is losing his only friend. I hope he lands on his feet.
Margaret is an idiot! But it's funny, so it's okay. Lol. Or at least, the situation she's created is funny. I'm really getting to dislike her. And Gillian too. I can't wait to see Nucky's reaction to the loss of his fortune. And I wonder if Gillian will be part of the upcoming seasons or if she fades away after her son's death.
What the heck is Van Alden doing? I'm guessing he'll be involved in something next season, but I can't imagine what. I guess I'll know soon enough.
Gyp is so glitchy! He's so hypersensitive, which is funny and yet problematic. How does someone so mercurial and unpredictable end up with much power? You can't trust someone like that, and I don't know why anyone would do business with him. But he's definitely an entertaining character.
I'm seriously hoping that the Margaret philanthropy story arc is short-lived. I'm three episodes in, and I could not be less interested in her personal soap opera. I'm not fond of the season so far, but the series' focus seems to be shifting to New York, and I like the NY characters. So there's still hope for it to be a great season.
I've watched the first few episodes of season 4. The only thing I dislike so far is Gillian's addiction. I like Narcisse. I like Eddie's evolution. I liked the machete in FL dude's head. And I adore Richard with his sister, unable to kill their dog. Nelson is funnier than ever. He never actually does anything. Things just happen to him, and he reacts. It's hysterical. And no Margaret! The best thing so far is probably Eddie and Ralph Capone's night out. So yeah, season 4 is really good.
I watched that last night. She's not so bad at all. After season two she just became so frumpy and bitchy, she really got on my nerves. But her new job is hilarious.
And I love Gillian and Capt. Nixon. So cute.
Roy and Cersei have the best eyebrows ever! I don't think Daughter is hot, but I guess that's just me. And the thing with her and Dr. Narcisse is creepy. Lol. I'm lukewarm on Sally. I like that Nucky feels like he can be honest with her, but I don't really care for her character. Oh, and how is Mickey Doyle still alive? It defies all reason. I'm liking the Chicago plots. Al Capone is fantastic so far this season. And poor Nelson. I just want to give that guy a hug. He always looks so dour.

Nelson was so funny trying to "get out the vote." That was a fun scene. I can't wait to see the scene you're talking about. He's probably my favorite character. So they'd better not kill him.
I can't wait! Willie is decent. The best new character is probably Agent Knox. The acting is so subtly brilliant. But I like Narcisse and Will too. I guess Willie isn't really new, but I still think of him as a S4 character. Daughter is meh. Roy is hot, but it's not a particularly exciting part, so he's kind of boring.
OMG, the Van Alden episode is brilliant! I love the change in him. It's been a long time coming. I can't wait to see what comes next. I don't understand who killed O'Banion or why. So I hope it's going to make sense at some point. THere are only three episodes left in season 4, so they'd better explain it soon.
Richard's married! I don't care for Julia, but that doesn't matter. Roy's quite the con man, and I hope Gillian whoops his sneaky ass.
When Rothstein met up with Nucky and was so desperate, I was worried he was going to spill the beans about Margaret. I really don't want her and Nucky getting back together. Rothstein has become a much more interesting character this season. He was pretty two dimensional in previous seasons, but they've gone a long way towards developing him.
I don't care for Sally Wheet, but watching her going to bed with her shotgun is endearing. Nucky has definitely met his match in her. The question of whether Agent Knox will succeed in turning Eli on Nucky is interesting now that there's finally some trust in that relationship again. And Will is finally figuring things out. I can't wait to see whether the rug gets pulled out from under them. I get the feeling it won't. I feel like something will stymie Agent Knox. Maybe the heroin aspect will pull Knox into a different direction, and he'll end up busting Narcisse. It seems like the kind of thing that happens every season to extricate Nucky from pending doom. We'll see.
I'm having trouble caring about the whole Chalky/Narcisse/Daughter/Dunn/heroin/wedding/nutty religious plot lines. I guess I'm really not interested in Chalky's personal issues, and Narcisse has lost his novelty. The fight between Chalky and Purnsley was very well done though. I'm going to miss that contemptuous smirk. I'm thinking the wrong man died in that fight.
Three more episodes! Then I'll be as miserable as the rest of you.
Fight choreography is so often really bad. I was impressed with how they choreographed and filmed that fight. I'll try to watch the last three episodes in the next couple of days. I'm looking forward to seeing how they wrap things up. There are so many things coming to a head, and so many things just getting going.
When the kid asked after his friend. I thought it was weird. Then she starts confessing. I knew something was up w ray. Then the shadiness on the phone.

Hmmm. It didn't occur to me in the diner. At that point, I just wondered how she would ever keep her past a secret from him. I assumed the incident was a device to show how difficult it would be, and that it would be the first piece of a puzzle that Roy would put together. And I guess it was. Just not the same puzzle as I expected. I think Roy did fall in love with Gillian, and that makes it all the more tragic.
The season four finale was fantastic! I'm surprised at a lot of what happened. I knew some characters would be dying this episode, but I didn't expect Richard to die and both Chalky and Narcisse to live. I guess there wasn't much more to do with Richard's storyline, so they ended it at a good point. Especially after his mistake at the Onyx, which is so tragic. Another great fight. Not as good as the fight between Chalky and Purnsley, but still entertaining. I couldn't predict who was going to win, which makes it so much fun to watch. I'm not sure how I feel about Knox getting killed. I guess having two disgraced agents is a bit much. In any case, he provided a great introduction to J. Edgar Hoover's character, who I think will have a larger role in season 5.
Moving Eli to Chicago for next season is a fun change, especially now that Al Capone is in charge. The look between Eli and Nelson was priceless, and I hope it's a foreshadowing of their interactions next season. And I liked how Agent Knox's death was used as a plot device to keep Nucky in Atlantic City, presumably for quite some time. Season 5 should be incredible.
Great great great season yet again. Though I really felt they spent too much time with Gillian the last few episodes, they could have ended that storyline earlier in the season because I got quite bored of it, despite the awesome revelation. Cried a bit for Harrow, goddamnit I hated it. But he died with a smile on his face, finally got rid of his demons.
Van fucking Alden baby, whoah I love the character, I love love the actor. What an awesome moment that was. But like BaS, I was confused why other guys shot O'Bannion and he got the credit.
Out of all the shit that could happen with the "black" storyline I did not expect this, it seems they want to play out Chalky and Narcisse a bit more next season. I don't know how I will feel about that.
I am also confused why they kept wuts-her-irish-face in, not interesting at all but at least Rothstein got some extra screentime and I can't object to that.
The Capones really shined this season, curious how that will play out next season now Torrio is out of the way (how the fuck you survive that hit by the way) and Eli will join them.
Also, was Hoover a dumb fucking asshole in real life too?
Last I read they were doing casting calls for burlesque dancers, chain gang members and the like at the end of April. Not sure they can put together anything until the end of GoT plus is way to early. I would expect a True Blood teaser at the end of GoT rather than a BE one.
So apparently they've cast Eliot Ness. It's the guy who played Pryzbylewski on the Wire, Jim True-Frost. It was confirmed by his sister on her twitter.
Maybe they'll skip forward to show some of Capone's downfall? Though I suppose it's equally likely they'll just have him in the show before he rose to historical prominence, like Bugsy Siegel. Though given that they've only got 8 episodes, they probably won't have much time to spend on the Chicago storyline.
