I really wanted Jamie Alexander but I can't complain about Gadot, she's tall (well at least to my short ass) and exotically attractive. Acting wise she seems ok nothing special but, were we ever expecting an actress who'd go on to win Oscars? Physique wise she's a tad bit skinny however that's not going to be a problem because Snyder will hook her up with the guy who trained the 300/MOS cast, and he did a tremendous job with Cavill, Butler and Antje Traue. I am going to remain cautiously optimistic, for all we knew this could just be a brief Diana appearence to set up JLA or a solo outing. The good news is at least Warner Bros is trying to flesh out their DC universe, even if it does feel like they're rushing it a little. Now that this is out of the way can we please get a Lex Luther announcement!
I agree with others about the physical attributes of this recently cast Wonder Woman. No, no, no! I wonder if she can bench 50 lbs or run a 15s 100m or do a Samurai Sudoku? You'll need more than what I see in the pics to compete with Devastation, Queen Clea or the Duke of Deception! You should be more than just a pretty face with a perfect manicure, girl!
Clearly, she is as miscast as Loras is.
(jk...I'm not a hater!)

I don't know if the complaints about her physique are based on how she's described/drawn in comic books, or not. I have no knowledge of those. I think she looks just fine, but everyone has different tastes.

Nym, I just think that a warrior woman should look athletic. Not necessarily as well-muscled as Dolan's suggestion, but at least athletic enough to be believable using weapons or in hand-to-hand combat. The actress they chose doesn't fit the bill. She needs to hang out at a distance from the fray with a rifle, just like me.

I do get what you're saying ... can see your perspective ... especially as this is a super hero movie. We just seem to have different definitions, or at least different parameters, in terms of what's athletic-appearing and what's believable in terms of using weapons or hand-to-hand. I think of some of the people with whom I train, and while no one would necessarily look at them on the street and say, wow, I bet they could kick ass, they're formidable as hell. That said, I can see how someone maybe between Gadot's physique and the picture of the woman Dolan posted would have been more instantly believable as kick-ass.

I had my doubts going in, but the film had more heart and humor than most Marvel films ( I know! )
WW was my hero as a kid, and it really really makes me happy they did her justice!
