I haven't seen all of these movies, and usually my picks for the Golden Globes/ Oscars never win anything, but these would be my choices:
Best Actress in a motion picture, drama - Emma Thompson, Saving Mr. Banks (loved her in this, but I haven't seen Cate Blanchett in Blue Jasmine)
Best Actor in a motion picture, drama - really torn between Chiwetel Ejiofor and Idris Elba. I think I'd like it more for Chiwetel to win, because the man needs some recognition. Again, haven't seen Redford in All is Lost.
Can't predict best motion picture, because I can't decide between 12 Years and Rush. IMO, Gravity should only win an award for cinematography or something like that, but I don't think the Golden Globes have that category.
Haven't seen any of the movies nominated for musical or comedy, so can't pick anything there.
Best supporting Actress - only saw Lupita Nyong'o in 12 Years and loved her.
Best supporting Actor in a motion picture - Daniel Brühl in Rush, no question.
Best Director - Cuarón will probably win, but IMO he's highly overrated. I'd go for Steve McQueen every day.
Best Foreign Language Film - The Hunt, no question.
Best Original Score - Zimmer for 12 Years or Heffes for Mandela.
Best TV series, drama - Downton Abbey. LOL, jk. House of Cards.
Best TV movie or mini-series - Top of the Lake (trololol, that's a really disturbing series, andi can verify).
And I'm too lazy to do the rest, but House of Cards for everything, basically.
KK, Jen Lawrence, don't wear a gown you have to pull up on national t.v. so your don't pop out, jeez. So glad Kate "Galadriel" Blanchett won a globe, that was the toughest catagory, IMO. And I hate, really HATE to say this but, Seven Hells, Leonardo DiCapprio, just slay me now and get it over with, you hot man.

The only real surprise for me from last night was Jon Voight winning best supporting TV actor over Aaron Paul, he was good in Ray Donovan but not that great.
At this stage I think it's safe to say Cate Blanchett and Jared Leto are going to win Oscars, they've got those categories locked down. Best Actor is a tough one but I am still convinced Mathew will be awarded.
When McConaughey started off his speech with "Alright alright alright" in his awesome accent I marked out a little.
BTW overall the show was a bit meh, I love Tina and Amy but they didn't really try that hard this year.
I never understood why Top of the Lake got all the buzz from the Sundance Channel and the far superior Rectify is pretty much ignored.
wut? blasphemy! top of the lake is too cool for words!

No she's not, if I remember correctly as a proper revenge she took a guest-appearance at the Simpsons .
ugh, just watched Fruitvale Station. Loved it to bits and haven't balled my eyes out like this since Toy Story 3! Very simple straightforward movie, but I love it when a movie just zooms in on a character and lets us hop along for a 90-minute ride.

Surprised to see the Academy snub Tam Honks and Emma Thompson. Sad that Daniel Bruhl and Paul Greengrass were snubbed too, Bruhl should of been nominated ahead of Bradley Cooper.
Allright, allright, allright here come the 2014 Oscars: http://oscar.go.com/nominees

Not even gonna rant anymore. Only category I'm interested is the foreign movie, and even here they'll choose La Grande Belleza over Jagten. "The New Fellini", ugh.
Tom Hanks Best Actor Paul Greengrass Best Director The Coen Brothers Best Director/Screenplay Emma Thomson Best Actress Daniel Bruhl Best Supporting Actor Inside Lewlyn Davis Best Film Saving Mr Banks Best Film Monsters University Best Animated Film
Natalie Dormer (here with Pedro Pascal) in particular turned heads with a striking new hairstyle that is likely for her role as Cressida in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay films.
And Emilia Clarke found a new fan in Best Supporting Actor winner Jared Leto:

I saw Jagten, Bellezza and I fell asleep during Broken Circle Breakdown. If that Italian bullshit wins I'm going to choke a bitch, I watched it last night and after a day of overthinking it I decided to start hating this movie with a passion.
BAFTA's were tonight and 12 Years A Slave and Gravity walked away the big winners. Due to The Dallas Buyers Club's absence we did see Barkhad Abdi pull an upset and win the Best Supporting Actor BAFTA for Captain Phillips, that brought a smile to my face I was so happy for him.

Methinks Cumberbatch had too much vino before the show
