Tonight, a very special Easter episode of Game of Thrones. The King lies dead. But on the third day, he rises again!

That would sure have half the ASoIaF fandom in uproar. Because it could definitely mean he's a viable candidate for Azor Ahai Reborn! teehee

Wow, Little Finger!! That surprised me. His involvement never occurred to me. Tywin seems more and more like a suspect too. Things couldn't be working out better for him...bringing Dorne into the fold, getting rid of the man who wants Casterly Rock and having total control over the king. Wow. Oh, and I hated Dany's speech. Godawful. Launching the collars was a great idea, but I don't care for her strategy. And it was a dumb place to end the episode.

I am a bookwalker and I still did not get the breaking of that one crystal?! Anyone can explain why Petyr did that?

Now Jon Snow is impressing me. He's finally growing up and gaining some wisdom. Interesting idea of going back to Craster's.

Oh, could be. I thought it might mean something else. He did threw it in the boat so technically if they do find Ser Dontos then the Lannisters would know how Sansa got away, because of the neckless. Smart move by Petyr.

oh, didn´t see that. But in the previous of next ep. LF is telling Sansa the Lannisters thinks it was her so you probably right. Two reasons for breaking the neckless then

A really great episode. Loved almost every scene. Almost is a lie. Really well done. Loved Tywin and Tommen. Loved Tywin and Oberyn (would you like to sit...) Pod and Tyrion was THE highlight of the series. And I really enjoyed Danys last scene. Finally some quality acting with her scenes. Pretty bad ass and a perfect ending.

OMG, yes. The Podrick scene was wonderful. I was struck by how grown up he looks. And now Tyrion has sent him away. It was heartbreaking.

I so wanted to see if Sansas carpet matches the drapes when Dontos was looking up her dress.

And I so wanted Gendry to be rowing into KL just as Dontos and Sansa were leaving. "Excuse me old woman?". "Man". "Oh Sorry but in this fog you looked like a woman". "Well you could say Dontos.". "I didn't know you were called Dontos". "Well you didn't bother to find out, did you?"

Okay, so I don't like that Tywin is in on this "get Sansa" and "get Tyrion" thing. He's not that stupid. That just makes me think even more that he is involved. In Tommen he finally has the child he always hoped Jaime would be. This can't go well for Tommen. Unless someone kills Tywin soon! (Pretty please?) Tommen is like a Ned Stark. He needs guidance to survive, but Tywin's guidance? Please no.

The Little Finger scene is great. The ghost ships in the harbor are so well done. I wonder if Sansa catches on that if LF knows that Joffrey is dead, that means he was involved. It's hard to say just how savvy she is. She's certainly more cunning than she used to be, but it's hard to say whether she has changed that much. I guess this explains why we didn't see LF at the Aerie yet. And the prospect of Arya and Sansa both heading for the Aerie is wonderful. I guess a reunion is too much to hope for.

Margaery's conversation with her grandmother convinces me she wasn't involved. She gains nothing by Joffrey's death. And it reinforces Olenna's motive. She doesn't care about Margaery being the queen, and she understands completely how twisted Joffrey was and what a foolish union it was. No other Tyrells have a motive, but Olenna certainly does...the well-being of those she loves.

The scene between Cersei and Jaime is fascinating. Our son...the acknowledgement. Cersei is as deluded and manupulative as ever, but seems to be legitimately grieving. Jaime seemed so sensible. Until his libido took over and he raped his sister next to their son's corpse. When he says she's a hateful woman, it's like he finally sees what she is. It's almost as though he decided he doesn't respect her anymore and so it's okay to take what he wants. It's a disappointing ending to the scene. But I guess we wouldn't want total redemption for Jaime, would we?

I wonder if the wall in the Hound/Arya scene is the actual wall. That would be a cool tip of the hat. The Hound can't act. He can't be anything but what he is. He has none of Arya's capability for deception.

Olenna is quite the man hater. Truly. Does she have any use for anyone male? It was amusing at first, but now it's starting to grate.

Sam and Gilly...boring mostly. Gilly doesn't belong at Castle Black, but is there a more demoralizing place anywhere than Mole's Town? Truly awful. Sam leaving Gilly there is unforgivable.

Stannis is getting on my nerves. What exactly is it he expects from Davos? Magic leeches? The veiled threats and the attitude make me wonder why anyone would follow Stannis. But the idea he has about the Iron Bank is interesting. Olenna and Tyrion have both discussed the dangers of the kingdom's debt to the Iron Bank. My guess is that Davos is going to ask the Iron Bank to pay for mercenaries to help Stannis take the Iron Throne in return for payment of the kingdom's debts. Where the money to pay the debts would come from is an interesting question, but I guess it's the business of politicians to make promises they can't keep. And that's what Davos is now.

The scene with Tywin and Oberyn is fascinating. First of all, I don't believe for a second that Tywin didn't consent to the Mountain killing Oberyn's sister. But he lies and is willing to hand over the Mountain in order to make peace. I'm curious whether Oberyn will actually agree to Tywin's proposal. This could go so many ways! And I hope it ends with Oberyn killing Tywin. And I wonder whether Tywin's offer is sincere. Is it some sort of trap? I guess he's too pragmatic for that. Making peace with the Dornish is a good move.

Interesting that Oberyn is a "poisoner." My impression was that he was someone who would rather kill someone while looking into their eyes...in battle. He also struck me as a fair man. If he does sit on the judge's panel for Tyrion, it'll be a good thing. He won't be swayed by Tywin.

Podrick...I never cared much for him. But the scene between him and Tyrion was touching. I hope his head doesn't end up on a pike. If he refuses to testify, he may well end up implicated too.

I guess the wildlings are trying to lure out the Knight's Watch. Random killing and plundering doesn't make that much sense otherwise. Jon Snow has found wisdom. And he knows what Ygritte is doing. I hope their paths cross again. Now how do less than 100 men take Craster's keep? It'll be interesting to see.

I love the harpy statues at Myreen's gates. What a wonderful bit of set design. I don't know why Danaerys agreed to play their game with the champions fighting.  And Myreen's champion with his lance struck me as out of place...more Westerosi than I would have expected.  But the pissing match was funny.  I don't think I've ever seen an actual pissing contest before today.  And I liked that Jorah finally got some love from Dany. Daario: "Why would I want a horse?" An impertinent question to ask a dothraki queen, isn't it? He does have swagger.  Even if he looks like an unwashed Westerosi extra.

Dany's speech was lame. And her delivery was lacking. But the collars over the walls were ingenious. It was a weird place to end the episode though. And I sincerely hope she intends to have her Unsullied attack the city, rather than letting slaves get killed trying to overthrow their masters unaided. Her Unsullied need a chance to do something other than march around, dammit!

Really enjoyed it all again .. I'm loving Snow now he's allowed to not act like a stroppy teen ..he's getting more like the image of book Jon. Was there not a reason why it's called MOLE's town ? Just saying ... They're rushing Dany's bit too much I feel.. they were camped outside of Meereen for ages ... sieges take time . I did like the collars but the angle those trebuchets were going it would of hit the doors. Minor gripes ... Loved the same as above , Tyrion and Pod , Tywin and Viper, Hound and Arya..just fantastic. Could of done without the writhing naked bodies , but hey, that's just me.
Some great lines as always (added two to my sig.)

Finally , I thought I'd seen Grimer Worm tongue on the walls but on second look it wasn't, ha ha! Oh yeah and I love that piece of music at the end.

yippie Now everything I said about Alex Graves last episode has come to bite me in the ass, because he did a great job with this episode. Really, really good. I loved how long the scenes were, and nothing felt out of place.

So happy to see Grenn and Edd again! freakout The NW scenes were awesome and I'm loving Jon more and more. Sa and Gilly broke my heart, these two are fantastic together. I have a feeling Sam's decision will have bad repercussions before long. It was a departure from the books, so I'm in the dark, but it doesn't feel right. I HATE NOT KNOWING.

Also, the little boy watching Ygritte kill his dad and others, that felt ominous. I'm loving this stuff.

The scene in the Sept was soooo good! I liked that little touch with Jaime asking Tommen if he's alright, you could see he cares for this one in a way he never did with Joffrey. Loved his scene with Cersei. Lena was fantastic, you could actually see/hear the moment where her crying turned from genuine to manipulative when she asked Jaime to avenge their son. Great stuff.

Littlefinger's voice cracks me up every single time. It's so over the top but I love it with a passion.

Although the scene with Arya and the Hound was well made, I didn't get the point of it. It felt repetitive.

Davos and Shireen need their own spin-off, they're a perfect match! Their acting is so natural, it's unbelievable. Did I mention how much I love Davos in the show? I was laughing so much at his old-married-couple scene with Stannis.

'What are *you* doing for this family?'

'Well look I washed the clothes and mowed the lawn and I made dinner the other night...'

'Don't call that a dinner, it was frozen pizza! And now it's raining all over this shit hole, better practice my pouting for 7 more episodes because we're never leaving this dump!'

What else? Dany's scene was tolerable this time. Valyrian isn't helping her scenes at all and the "pick me! pick me!" part felt a bit weak, but all in all it was a cool scene. Come on, Daario is fun to watch. Like REALLY fun.

The thing is BaS, Tommen is technically a Baratheon. So I am not sure why Tywin would think that Tommen having a child with someone outside of the Lannister family would preserve his family name. If Tommen is revealed as a child of Jaime and Cersei's incest, and therefore a Lannister through and through,  then Stannis would be seen as the rightful king.  As much as I loved The scene with Tywin and Tommen, it didn't sit right with me as Tywin has nothing to gain but having a puppet ruler.  Yet focusing on Tommen getting his new queen pregnant seemed to be number one on Tywins list.  It seems to be his only concern.  Preserve the family line.   I would think that he would rather clear Tyrions name and find him another noble female to marry to get with child.   That is where his line will continue.

I felt the Hound scene was not repetitive.  You could see that Arya really wanted the Hound to make a life change and redeem himself by helping the farmer and his child.  I think it was important to show that the Hound still has a lot of animosity and is also a realist, not a hero.  Maybe Arya needs that lesson considering tdark path she is heading down.

A bit of a setup episode, putting the pieces in place of whats to come.

By far my favorite scene in this one was when Tywin was talking with Tommen, grooming him to be king right in front of Cersei before Joffreys body was cold. Hahaha wonderful.

I am doing a rewatch and adding a more detailed review in a bit.

Gee Dany. good thing your theatricality of flinging giant vats of chains didn't kill some random kid walking in Meereen! facepalm

Mole Town was awful and demoralizing. I was stunned. The rest of the north looks so lovely, and then there's this ratty shithole where Sam takes Gilly. Is there really nowhere else? I'm so disgusted by that.

He´s right! i thought the same, you are killing slaves and kids and slave kids, you moron! But all Dany is pure boredom to me except, and I can´t believe I`m saying it because I hated that stupid ass in the books and spent almost all seasons of Tremé yelling asshole at him but...Daariodaario2!!! the effortless swagger of the dutchy! Liked him a lot, fun.  This way I can understand ... shhh the spoilaaaars . The other 3 stooges and the rest of the scene wasno.

Yes, thought the same as Don when watched the first time: that it was a setup episode so, ok. But then I realized that when I don´t like something in this show I just can´t stop being a crackers for the rest of it all. So, first watch I felt nothing for the most part, just here and there because the Sam-Gilly scene felt so loooong and boring, they said the same thing like 10 times and then the retarded takes the girl to a brothel. There´s a line there tho, but for the other thread. And then (or after?) the Hound-Arya scene. Again, long and pointless. First sycho Arya, not so sycho Arya now and the Hound always the same. GRaves abused Arya-hound dynamic people likes so much.

But I always love Shireen-Davos scenes, they are so natural and perfect together. And Davos face when he comes up with the idea..."he will like me more than that red bitch now ey?". Those two. The way Stannis bitch is very funny.

I don´t want to label the sept scene, the direction was ambiguous to make people talk.  Too much going on in that scene and between them to label it rapey.  Don`t think it was. It´s clear that jaime saw her for the first time as she really  is and he´s no saint either, so.

I thought most scenes were too long to say little (but to setup a lot). Like the attack of the wildlings, that´s ok, we see ferocious but then inside Castle black they can´t stop talking about the ferocity of the wildlings. Man, we know already, you are talking about it since last season. Some nice shots in the attack tho and I agree with Macha... wait, that´s the other thread.

The Oberyn-Tiwyn scene only enjoyed the line: "wanna sit?"wink The rest is ok but felt like I saw it so many times in this show. Love the actors tho, fosho.

Tiwyn-Cersei-Tommen-dead joff was good, liked how the historic blahdiblah was used to shut Cersei´s hole, blame her, treat her like the nutt case she is and steal her son with such elegance she really couldn´t say a word.

I just can´t understand what the hell happens with Aiden Gillen, the voice, the new accent, the way he moves !... it´s so hilariously creepy. I´ll have fun with his scenes in the future.

I think I just miss the emotion of the first season too much.

What's adorable about Liam is that he talks just like that in interviews too.

AccessHollywood.com: How’s Davos feeling these days?
Liam Cunningham: Not good. The boss is not happy. Progress has been slow. … Something has to be done and because we don’t have any sort of money, any sort of credibility, it’s all gone downhill. And not only that, my credibility is shot. As Melisandre has said, it’s all gone horribly wrong since Blackwater, so something’s gotta click. I’m looking for a good idea here to try and save the day, to try and get us back in the game.

The boss is not happy bit cracks me up.

Mole Town was awful and demoralizing. I was stunned. The rest of the north looks so lovely, and then there's this ratty shithole where Sam takes Gilly. Is there really nowhere else? I'm so disgusted by that.

I thought it was the worst place so far north of King's Landing besides Carster's.

Had a long day, but some more thoughts.

I think this episode worked better on a scene by scene level than last weeks. Last week had the awesome purple wedding and kinda stumbled with the others.

I was really touched by the "Goodbye Pod" scene. All the feels!

Favorite was Tywin, lots of history and exposition explained as a lesson to Prince Tommen ( I also like the "new" actor ).

They are really painting the Wildlings as straight up villians, you would think the Thenns would be the ones being ruthless, but Ygritte and Tormund were being just as bad...well...at least I assume they didn't partake in the post raid meal.

Nice checking in with Stannis, and I like the scene with Shireen and Davos, those two have a nice chemistry.

Dany's scene worked better than the last one, Meereen looks amazing and huge. Dany can sure deliver large speeches in a fictional language, only thing I was like...barrels with chains? Collateral damage dude!
