I LOVED The Original Carl Sagan show when I was young. I caught the new show, while it is a bit too flashy in some parts, it is very much in the spirit of the original.

The concept of measuring the existence of the Universe on a scale of a year on earth is simply brilliant and I never heard of this before (38 million years per day). Imagining the Big Bang happened on January 1st 00:00:00 AM, our sun only formed on August 31st, Earth on september 16, the dinosaurs getting extinct on December 30 06:24, our written history just starting 14 seconds ago and Columbus arriving in America just 2 seconds ago: it puts everything much better in perspective than the billions and billions and billions of years usually applied and it blew my fucking mind.

The last episode was mesmerizing, the production value of the show is impressive because most of the footage is CGI.
I am amazed to lean some things that I never knew, like the tardigade...whut the hell? This tiny animal is tougher than the HR Giger Alien!

Ok, now seriously, this show is brilliant. What they did with Giordano Bruno was so good. Who writes this btw? "He had the vision that sealed his fate. In this dream he awakened to a world enclosed inside a confining bowl of stars. This was the cosmos of Bruno´s time. He experienced a sickening moment of fear, as if the bottom of everything was falling away beneath his feet." Lordy lord, that almost made me cry. That´s exactly what universe talking makes me feel. Melts my mind.

 It was! Just amazing. And how interesting is that Chef, here and there, was talking directly to religious fanatics who deny evolution. I think he even said something like Evolution is an spiritual event and later "Is not a shame that science still can´t answer how was the beginning of life but that´s not a shame. Patterson´s story reminded me of this movie... with Pacino and Maximus, about the tobacco companies, too lazy to find the tittle.

It´s all very interesting because there´s right and wrong, good and bad and all simple like that, but a bit too long. Buuuuut, while you`re checking my starry vest I´ll tell you the earth is 4500 million years old (Patterson did it), talking about old women here.

And this I always love, when he talks evolution and the bible. I didn´t know that Christmas was inspired in the  really the old roman and very pagan Saturnalia (also called the Slave´s parties or something).

Still waiting for Chef to burst in sexy song

Yuuuuuuuuuussssssssssssssssss he did it! he sang a sexy song for the ladies!!! Chef is quiet the feminist (surely more than me).

He said women are stars, sisters of the sun. And that we are as beautiful as the Pléyades... well maybe that´s not entirely true but noone is watching so I´m lying.

Episode 8 you slackers. Loved it. Amazing how this show is still making me feel vertigo and sometimes even fear and I love it.

forgot to say that, of course,  we were the ones to put some fucking order in the heaven ladies, say thanks to Annie Cannon and her stellar spectrum and also Henrietta Leavitt and Cecilia Payne who was the one that gave sense to that order (the spectrum meant the temperature of the stars and then the age).

And fuck yeahhhhhhh!

Our past is another planet ( and the future will be another planet, probably dead). He talked about the great catastrophes, one of those name is The great dying. Sometimes is really scary how possible is that again.

Oh and apparently we owe our lives to a wee little mammal from... New Jersey. Lol?

And yes, we live in the crust of an apple. It´s a good title for kid´s books. You think Chef is kidding. He´s not! the crust of the Earth is as thin as the skin of an apple... comparing of course.

Last two episodes about Faraday , magnetic shield badass and suddenly, last episode... Uruk and Gilgamesh!!! Uhm The inmortals, but really about the power of writing against death. And then how life started? from where? to where?
