Lucasfilm/Disney have wasted no time in organizing their scheduled plans for the Star Wars universe.
We have Gareth Edwards and Josh Trank directing spin offs and now they've announced that Rian Johnson (Brick, Looper, also BB's Ozymandis) will be writing and directing Star Wars Episode VIII.
Little surprised, I was expecting J.J to end up directing the whole trilogy, but he's bitched and moaned a little about the shooting schedule and having to leave America.
I must be the only one who loved Prometheus, haha. Really curious about this one too.
I didn't hate Prometheus I just found it disappointing. The trailers and promos got my super hyped for it but the movie itself was underwhelming. Visually it was stunning, the story on the other hand was found lacking in several areas.

I think it worked for me because I was never a fan of the whole Alien saga, so I went in with no expectations, and I was happy to find something that was less action and more philosophical - I know that sound pretentious, it's not my intention, usually I hate philosophical bullshit in movies, but Prometheus worked for me because it had most the themes I love in the Sci-Fi genre, and because I could talk about it and question it for hours after I watched it. But yeah, I can definitely understand why it didn't work for some/ most of the viewers, especially given the hype it generated. I for one, liked it a lot.
Ok I've trawled the threads and this is where I'm gonna put this ...
Maleficent !!!! I bloody loved this movie ! I thought I would like it , even be quite fond ... but I freaking loved it!
That is all ...
I have to see it! Everyone I know loved it. Lyanna was on the fence about it if I recall correctly but she said if I keep and open mind and accept it is a different story, I might like it.
Just saw "Jack Ryan - Shadow Recruit", it was pretty good. Also saw "Lone Survivor" which is the best movie I have seen in a long time. Highly recommend it.

I've been meaning to watch Lone Survivor, now that you've recommended it I'll have to order it. Thanks Ly
I will see Exodus, Al, because it's Ridley Scott and I love his stuff. We'll see how it fares.

If you like the current comic book trend that's been dominating the movie industry lately then you'll be pleased to know that Marvel has their schedule up until 2019 already booked. 2017 is going to have three Marvel movies
I know someone mentioned The Imitation Game but I couldn't find the thread. I saw it last night. Good movie & Benedict Cumberbatch. Also, I hope whoever put Alan Turing or any another gay person on hormonal treatment to cure him of his sexual orientation got himself a good dose of it. Idiots. That's about it for my rant.
I really want to see what the fuss is about Fast & Furious 7 now!!! I heard Jason Statham is in it. I kept away from everything about this series since Paul passed away . But I just peaked at Rotten Tomatoes today and they gave it 82%

It's great fun, just don't go in expecting anything other than a loud & dumb action movie that defies the laws of logic and gravity.
They handled the Paul Walker situation with such care and dignity, I was impressed with what Wan and Universal did, they took the classy road that felt so organic for the story and franchise.
I hope it is good, Man of Steel was decent. But seems DC is hanging a lot on this film to build their new cinematic universe and I hope it's not gonna affect the final product.

Ok maybe it's just my brain slowly dieing but I really, really loved The Nice Guys. There's so many people being randomly shot in absurd ways, I know it sounds terrible but it's really hilarious. *shame shame shame*
Just watched Rogue one and it was great. It had all those winks and nudges but done in a way that made sense, since it happens right before movie IV. Everything clicked and there were some really memorable scenes throughout.

I loved, loved the Bourne trilogy, but this last thing is one hot piece of garbage. Pisses me off. It's really bad. Damnit.
The concept of Deep Dream was interesting and very connected to what's going on today, but everyone's doing it nowdays. I didn't understand half of the things the evil new lady said. She mumbled a lot. Some too long sequences with cars that could have been shorter. Felt like watching the Hobbit at times, minus the slow mo. I can't remember much else, but the ending was cool. How Bourne left that vid for her in the car I suppose in the end my review would say: It wasn't all bad.
