Jent, I loved Quentyn! He's such a normal person. Sure, he's born into Dornish royalty but he's literally the next door guy with the array of regular problems ("oh, I should have kissed those girls", "I miss home but dad will be disappointed if I screw this up", "I'm scared shitless, but what the hell do I do now?!", "she won't like me, what is there to like about me?", "fuck, I can do this! I'm a Prince of Dorne" etc). And I liked his self contained story and the fact he was given a character and was as much fleshed out as possible considering this short run in Dance. I like all secondary characters that are not just sketches.
Quentyn was okay as a character, but his plot was a complete disappointment. So pointless to follow him as a POV... The only Quentyn chapter we needed was the last one. The rest were pretty much filler, or could have been told throuh other POVs.
That's close to my opinion. I liked Quentyn...right up until he became bbq. At that point, I wondered why we spent the time we did getting to know him.

Quentyn was alright as a character, but his story line was pointless. Also, his PoVs have some of the worst ideas in Dance. Seriously, the first two are almost entirely flashbacks to interesting stuff happening that we missed. "We got attacked by pirates and my childhood friend was killed". Gee George, maybe you should have put that in? That actually sounds, you know, fun.
In other news, that Entertainment Weekly story has convinced me that Barristan is going to die this season. I've liked him in the show, he's had some good scenes, but I'm pretty alright with that. Dany needs some serious losses this season I feel.

I'm gonna seriously lose it. First Tormund, now Barry but on the plus side, looks like HBO smelled money. I'm going to laugh my ass off if they go over 7 seasons!
I just read the thing again. It said an actor, not an actress. It's got to be Ser Grandpa or Tormund if you ask me. Brienne has a while to go, so cool your troll heels Cosca
I would agree that if Barristan does die that it's like him versus 30 Sons of the Harpy and he kills most of them before he gets taken out...something grandiose. The show has put his fighting skills on a pedestal so it needs to prove that to viewers.
The actor was surprised upon learning of the character’s death and limited screen time, as he/she has read the books and was expecting to have more material than usual to film this year.

Ian said at a convention recently that he has a great fight scene this year. Him going out in a blaze of glory like you described sounds likely to me.

Well, lets see how it plays out, it is just speculation at this point.
I've seen it in the fires and it's horrible. On a par with Yara's breakout attempt, Dany's Mother Teresa moment and Brienne going Superman on The Hound.
Thing is...you will have nothing to compare it to. For all you know in season 6 they are transcribing unpublished manuscripts perfectly...what basis will you have then to see what will come to pass or not?
I would either, just stop watching and wait for the books...or let it go....before your anger turns you to the dark side.

Well, I haven't seen the third film, yet, but that's because the 2nd one kinda pissed me off, or parts of it did, and I loved what he did with the LoTR trilogy. However, based upon the two I have seen, well, I wouldn't mind some of what you're smokin', Al.

Why do some people seem so upset by the prospect of the opening credits just listing "Dorne," as opposed to a specific location within Dorne? I get that previous seasons have had specific locations, but when a few different locations within Dorne will be used for settings this year, what's the problem?

It's a bit lazy. I am not raging over it but they could of created a Sunspear one. My guess is because Jaime and Bronn will be all over Dorne this season.
because is called Sunspear?
if they're going to use different locations that might make sense, but that could make show-only fans think that's what the city is called.
Can´t find TW post about Dorne. I liked Dorne too but I think I only loved the idea of Dorne, the equality, the bastards having rights and all that a bit similar to the wildlings. Still found the characters shallow but many others are too in the last books.

I'm being cautiously optimistic. We aren't all going to agree on this, nor would I like a site where everyone has to agree. We are all entitled to our opinions. I like Lyanna/Rhaegar, but some think he's gay, some think he's a traitor, some think he is an adulterer, some think he is a rapist, etc.. I'm not going dislike those people who don't agree with me, and I hope they will have the same respect for me

@Cary: I though exactly the same! They could all be Pedro and Indira's daughters! Reading a lot of complaints it looks like many believe the show will keep them half sisters. But that's clearly not the case. So some posters do expect for them to not resemble Pedro & Indira. I swear sometimes I get confused simply because the complaints are completely the opposite.

I thought the only one we knew for sure who had been changed to Ellaria and Oberyn's daughter was Tyene. I don't think they changed Obara and Nymeria into Ellaria's daughters, too.
