Al's Oscar Thread 2015

I haven't seen a single nominated movie and can only name a few of them because the local sports guy is a bit of a movie nut. So. Here's a thread. I guess.

I liked Birdman mostly because Michael Keaton I think. Script is very pretentious. No wonder, two argentinians worked on it. It´s a good movie. To me that´s the thing with the Oscars the last years. Movies are just good, Imo.

Boyhood is good too but not crazy about it at all. Not dumb though, Donnie.

Force Majeure (Turist), the swedish movie, is very interesting. Not my kind of movie at all but well done, neat and all that. Was a candidate for foreign film or not? Forgot.

I saw absolutely nothing in that list... And saw absolutely nothing in our french cinema's list. I'm getting old.

I don't think Turist/Force Majeure was nominated, but great movie nonetheless. Birdman was ok, but winning the oscar was just Hollywood brownnosing themselves. Boyhood deserved it way more, and will probably be remembered as a classic in 25 years while Birdman won't be.

That "Budapest Hotel" cleaned up a lot. I saw it, it was alright. There is some good acting in it, but dragged to much for me. Really want to see the Cumberbatch one.

The Grand Budapest Hotel and Boyhood were wonderful.

The real story of the night was Travolta's new level of creepy

Um, yeah, that was totally awkward with Travolta there, ugh.
