So the standalone HBO app has a name and might be out quite soon.

it seems like it will offer all of HBO's programming for $14 a month, if true it will be a no brainer for me.

Who else here will get it? We can finally do live viewings with chat!

If it's $15 it will be a no brainer, watching the HBO shows as they air..without cable! So awesome.

HBO Now seems like it will launch on Apple products first...at the beginning of April, first month is free!

Seems at launch it will be on Apple devices and PC. The apps on other devices seem to be coming later.

The only devices it will be on are Apple devices (tablets, smartphones, etc.). It will still be available via web for everyone.

Yeah seems like it is a limited time exclusivity ( 6 months ), and then the app will open up to other devices and consoles.
But you can watch it on any ol' PC.

Had 10 peeps at my house, first GOT viewing party! I was so worried the app would crash. It performed perfectly, and we watched it in HD on a projector. Never going back!

We were watching Oz a couple hours before the show and it was terribly lagging. The Episode 1 at 6 (PDT) was lagging as well... but I'm rewatching it no with no problem.

Heck I went through a VPN and it was perfect. Lets see if it holds up! The finale usually gets the most traffic.

Cary was here for the ep, and he was a solid 2 minutes behind us. That made it kind of hard to discuss. But it was still great that he wasn't waiting around for the episode after everyone else had seen it.

So I had almost as bad problems watching S5E2 yesterday afternoon as I did the first episode on the night of. We decided to watch it with captioning, because it kept stopping in the middle of words. I am not happy about this.

I don't know if HBO NOW is in the same manner as HBOGo, but lately every time I'm watching The Wire, it's stopping every 5 min "loading". I need to resort to Amazon Instant in order to watch this series I mean it's ok I suppose since I have that but still...

TW, I have the same issue with HBO Go. I don't have it with Amazon Prime, so it's definitely something about how HBO Go is set up. I hope HBO Now is better, since people will be paying for the privilege of watching.

It would totally suck Basi, for people who pay $19.99 for HBONOW to have this kind of hassle! I'm reassured that at least my net speed is ok and it is not my RCN provider's fault teehee
