OMG! I haven't even heard of this one! But YESSSS TO ALL THE hard breathing I don't know but it reminds me of a Western Robert Redford movie. It's on the tip of my fingers, but won't come out. Probably will remember it later... Looks good and I haven't seen Leo in a long while at the cinema.
Because Ry made me google for the new trailer Strongly suggest not watching if you don't want to have any idea of what the dynamic of the story is. Unlike the teaser Ry posted it upthread, the official trailer has some clues about the story.
Oh my. Why bother watching any other movie for the rest of this year? Sure it is a revenge story, but damn, this looks stunning. The realisim alone, the authentic weaponry....and Leo. Muthafucking Leo.

Did I say part of this movie was filmed here in my country? Exactly at the end of the planet, island called "Tierra del Fuego" (Land of the fire, although is actually a very cold place).
So someone watched already?

Saw it, amazing, AMAZING cinematography and directing. There are sequences in this film that are so raw and real, it is amazing what can be done in cinema, we have truly reached the age where anything is possible. The scene was just
That being said, lots of boring stuff happens between the amazing stuff, Tom Hardy mumbles his way through another film, and poor Leo, while his character gets punished more than Jesus in "Passion of the Christ", his character was not that engaging.
Still, there is no film quite like this, ya'll should deff check it out!

The landscape is beautiful although deadly, Leo is great. He doesn't have a whole lot of speaking in this. Someone explain this to me:
Spoiler
what is the zombie reference? That he actually dies (which he doesn't) or sees death/after life experiences? Zombie people are all over this movie
Not my kind of movie. Prefer Sicario to this one. Not a Tom Hardy fan, either. He doesn't do a thing for me. Too cold there, Andrea

The landscape was amazing! As Don already said, the cinematography and directing were truly great. I recall the way the camera followed each character at the beginning, when the camp gets attacked. Loved those shots.
Leo was really good, and so was Hardy. This guy has grown on me so fast. I'd also say his part was actually harder to play.

I didn't get the zombie reference the flashbacks were more like fever induced, no? I don't know.
I liked Sicario . Benicio del Torro kind of rocks those roles. Terrified me to be honest.
Huh, I completely forgot to comment on this one. I actually liked the movie but seriously. Don was right. Hugh Glass should have died many times.
Spoiler
If hypothermia didn't kill him after falling in those frozen rivers, then infections from untreated wounds should have done the job. Never mind the bear mauling OR the fall from the cliff. I mean... The guide had like 12 lives.
Amazing direction IMO, and the landscapes, the wilderness together with the sound were half heartbeat of the movie. Acting was excellent: Leo owned it and Hardy wasn't bad either. I saw him in several movies and while he's only got one "serious" role so far, he did not disappoint me.
Overall was a good one. Oscar nom deserved IMO.

must have cut the scene or I've missed it completely Ry! I remember the Pawanee saying his body is rotten when he was poking at his wounds and then later on putting him in a makeshift tent with some kind of grass on his wounds. Or Glass cauterizing his neck bear mauling wound with gun powder next to a river, but that's about it. Now I wonder what kind of grass that is. (Penicillin grass!)
