I haven't seen it but I heard good things about it actually. Now I'm curious. Didn't know Pedro is in it. Maybe I'll give it a shot when I am done with Outlander's 1st season.
Watched last year, completely forgot to post about it It was the best show i watched last year, hands down. Brazilian actor Wagner Moura plays Pablo and there were some complaints about his Spanish accent by native speakers - he didn't speak Spanish at all when they picked him for the role - but other than that he nailed the character. Pedro and the american dude have great chemistry on the screen, loved it!
Opening credits with theme song by Rodrigo Amarante is amazing:

Started to watch last night. I like many things but I distrust many others too. Director and writer were pretty smart to quote magic realism at the very beginning, here we´d say "buena atajada" (good save or something like that), this way noone can accuse them of lying. I´m checking some stories because I truly never knew much about this but I`m sure many didn´t really happen.
The acting is very good, most of all Pedro Pascal and his partner. Wagner Moura is great but yes, his spanish accent is not very good, not that I mind really, never distracted me from his acting. Another thing that surprised me, is that colombians sound a bit like us, argentinians, I knew they use the "vos" too (instead of "tú") but there´s a lot more than that. You change the caribbean accent for the italian and it´s pretty similar to us, I think.
I also enjoy the spanish cursing A LOT. Few curses I never knew but I approve.
Ok, will keep watching, I just hope to find a lot more of "the yanks better take care of their own problems" too, tbh. I like when you are the bad guys too .

Also noticed something else in the use of our language that´s very sad, thought it was just an argentinian thing but I guess is not . We seem not to like our own countries, when talking about them we say: "this country" not "our country" or "my country". I guess it has to do with immigration, at least here in "la pampa gringa". It´s always very sad for me to listen and many of the characters in this show are saying that all the time (except Escobar, go figure) : "we need to leave this fucking country" and blah blah.

Yeah, same here in Brazil, a lot of them say "this country can't be fix" or that this is a land of corrupt people, they forget that what makes the country is the people that live in it, and that includes them.
The thing i didn't like about the way the facts are told is that makes it seem like if it wasn't for American intervention Escobar would never have been caught and to me that kinda takes it away from the efforts of the Colombian government and their armed forces which the ones ultimately responsible for Escobar's demise.
Jesus Christ! I completely forgot about this thread. I even posted about Pedro. Shame on me. It took me forever to actually get to it and now everyone moved on.

you liked it Andy!!!
I didn't realize Wagner Moura is Brazilian but I could tell something was different. Frankly I thought he was a German (Wagner did it LOL) and that's why I automatically assumed his Spanish had a different sound.
Season 2 is out. Reviews too, but don't have many positives (like this one: http://www.vox.com/2016/9/4/12774246/narcos-review-season-2-netflix) Not that I particularly go by reviews but was curious to see.

Finished season 1 started second! Escobar eluding justice to that degree. Walking out of the Cathedral with such impunity. Sometimes life is weirder than fiction.

Aha, well they might be right TW but season 1 also had problems and I still liked it. Watched season 2 and it does has problems but sometimes there´s just one scene or character that does it for me. And there was plenty of scenes I liked in this one. Of course, I can´t remember which ones now Imma try to find. Finished watching more than 15 days ago. I think it was a scene with a new character I really liked, a secondary one, called Limón. Maybe the scene was with him and the girl, the friend with the kid. I like that part of the story very much tho they kind of lost it later.
There was a time when I watched and came here to comment. Should start doing that again. It´s the only way I can´t post about the things I watch and make sense. Can´t trust my silly memory. You finished?
