I'm seriously considering if there are HBO folks or peeps going. Only issue I have is an 8-hr. drive, which is not a problem but I would have to bunk somewhere, so, need to look further into that.

This event is now called a "Con of Thrones" http://conofthrones.com/ but I have not received any more details on it besides it is from June 30-July 2 in Nashville.

I'm planning to go. Not sure I care about the speakers. It would be worth it to hang with some of mah peeps! Rooms are pretty expensive at the main hotel, but I booked one anyway. I can always cancel if something comes up. I was going to get a suite or parlor for hanging out with any fleas who show up, but they're all booked already. So rude!!  As if GRRM needs a suite.

After discussing disappearing hotel vacancies in the Con area with peeps in chat, I decided to book a few rooms before there are none left.  I don't really care whether you want to use them or not, but this way there is at least one option for everyone who wants to come. I can cancel any of the rooms until next June, so there is lots of time for everyone who is attending to make their plans.

The rooms are at the Holiday Inn Express, which is a decent mid-range hotel with free breakfast and wifi.  It's very close to the Con, and there is a free shuttle to take people to the Con if they don't want to walk.  I reserved the rooms from Wednesday, June 28 through Sunday, July 2. There are two suites that have two beds plus a sofa bed ($271), one king suite ($210), and two suites with two beds ($220) - prices include tax. Yeah, I know, suites seem pricey, but suites were only $9 more than regular rooms (except for the ones with the sofa bed).

So no rush to make arrangements.  We can figure out who (if anyone) wants what hotel room for what nights next year.

The following constitutes what a Valyrian pass entails (according to the web site)
1. Preferred seating to all large events (this rocks);
2. Special registration line;
3. Exclusive goodie bag;
4. Special Edition CoT t-shirt;
5. Dedicated Maester for all your ravens (no idea what the Sam Tarly that means), and;
6. Valyrian Hand of the Con pin.

I had a VIP at ComicCon before and it is great. I sat in the front row of every panel I saw, including drogo . I didn't have to wait in line little cattle to get pictures, autographs, etc., you go right to the front. I have bad feet and we are probably going to be walking a lot anyway at this deal so anytime I don't have to wait in line is more time I have to drink, er, socialize

We now have reservations for four rooms at the con hotel for the con weekend only. The con rate was a reduction of $80 per night from their regular rates, so I reserved them. If you want to come into town a day or two early for Flea Fiesta, I have rooms at an adjacent hotel for those nights for a comparable rate (see earlier post).
