Started watching this yesterday and fell in love immediately. Great show, very charming, fun and unique. Kind of a mash of ET, Super 8 and a horror movie. Great actors and cinematography too. Highly recommend it!
Only saw the first episode but found it quite underwhelming. The acting by the adults in this show is really (really) bad, the kids are quite good though and seem to have a lot of fun. The writing is shady and it seems they are merely satisfied with making it look like an 80's movie by throwing it hard in our face. Will watch a few more to see if it gets better.
Watched episode 2 and 3 but had to stop after that. The writing is bloody terrible, all the characters are yelling, panicking or bickering to create some lazy tension instead of speaking some normal dialogue. The mystery also hasn't particularly glued me to the screen. Too much relying on 80's nostalgia instead of trying to create a good show, could have been a really fun one though.
Gave it a shot and saw the the first episode. Not sure what to think and I don't want to be a Negative Nancy with only one ep in. Looks like everyone but Japie liked it
You can do it TW, it's a good show to nancy about.
I'm watching Sense8 now, it has some cool elements but the endless love-whining is fucking terrible (ooooooooh I love you, smoochysmoochsmooch, no I don't want to marry HIM! boodiefuckinghoo). Why do people keep making tv-seasons of more than 8 episodes, it makes it a fucking brutal slog to get through.
Japie, I didn't watch this anymore. It just didn't hook me and if it really is not improving it's not worth nancy-ing about Life's short. I actually moved to Narcos. But it is for a different thread.
I thought it was great! I think that the second half of the episodes were better than the first few. That's when things really started picking up. And it already set itself up for its conflict next year as it slid down the drain.
Season 2 was really fun to watch, i read some complains about the pace but to me it was done just right. Don't know where they're going forward though.
