Small lightbulb moment, I'm sure some of you might be well ahead of me on this one, but I just realized Talisa's last name - Maegyr - is a reference to Jeyne's great grandmother Maggy the Frog (Maggy coming from Maegi). Heh, never thought of it while watching the show, only made the connection on my current AFfC re-read.

I'm haven't given up hope she will still end up being Jeyne somehow, and will betray Robb.

I didn't dislike him, but I didn't like him as much as the book version, which I think it's funnier. Well, a lot of it might have to do with me having a very hard time trying to understand him.

I agree with Tir, Margeary is also one of the different but better character.
In the books I always wondered how Margaery managed to come out on top despite everything going awry around her, making her a woman that is very calculating and cunning in the Tv show was great and very insightful to her character.
I am already looking forward to the Cersei Vs Margaery scenes!
I've just gotten through Season 1 of the Tudors and started watching Season 2. I can't help anticipating mid season Margaery Tyrell about to get her head cut off by Henry VIII (Or wait, that's actually Steerpike from Gormenghast.)
Love, love, loved the Tudors ... basically she's playing the same part tho'

I like the HBO Varys better than the book Varys. I don't know that there is too much added, perhaps it's simply seeing him on the tv as opposed to my own mind. Also agree that Syrio is somehow not dead, it was never shown, no birds flying, etc.. I always thought that word got back to Braavos somehow and that maybe Jaqen was sent to work with Arya since Syrio was gone.

Varys is beyond perfect, I do wonder what he has in store for the realm tho.
I wonder that myself. Also what Targaryan roots he has or allegiance from.

I am also with Tir on Telisa/Jeyne. I can't fuss about her enough.

, I want her to
antagonize the s**t out of Cersei.
I think Margaery should start raising her husband now without her hands being tied.

"War of estrogen proportions" love that, that's brilliant. Love Tudors, too.

Margaery has to get past Cersei for now. But yeah, I wonder if hair will be torn out or tolerated
at the moment.
I am sure there will be a lot of fake courtesy and simmering tensions, Oh I can't wait!
I fear that Cercei will escape justice somehow thought besides her
Spoiler
walk of shame
. She always manages to come out smelling like a rose, but not a blue one!

Better than in the book : Arya, Bran, Jaqen, Yoren, Ser Jorah, Sansa, Theon. These actors knocked me out.
Worse than in the book: Pyat Pree (thought he went over the top, hated his vocal delivery), Littlefinger (sometimes don't like his accent or something), Lord Bolton (still trying to decide if I like his portrayal).
Equal to the book in a different way: Yara, Shae, King Robb. These actors won me over in a different way than I expected from the books.
Everybody else lived up to my expectations as described in the book.
I actually think that TV Shae is worse than book Shae. I know they are building up her character for a bigger shock when the shit hits the fan, but still. She offers me nothing.

I have my moments. I do think that Show Varys is better than Book Varys. Show Yoren is better than Book Yoren. Show Ned is better than Book Ned. Show Robert is better than Book Robert. Show Jaime is better than book Jaime. Ducksauce is better in the book.
