LOL, the die-hard fans over at westeros.org are STILL working on that timeline, apparently there are some things that still don't fit when it comes to the earlier ages and events.
Now I really can't stop trying to come up with a motto for your house. i really like the coat of arms though, it's very cool! I particularly like the orange/red over black, cause from afar it looks like two naked flames in the dark/night. Melisandre would approve.

When you spend an entire rainy morning playing on a dress-up doll game site just because it allows you to create GOT characters and costumes. I'm so embarrased...

Tir - Yes, I can't stop playing that song. Took me a while to warm up to it, but I love the second part where Antony comes in. Have you seen Antony's video for "Cut the World"? Eeeeesh! (we should probably take this to the music section).
You know your a GOT geek when you run bare ass from the bathroom to the tv because you heard the GOT theme song playing.
Hopefully your pizza delivery person is a woman, your grace!

As long as you remembered to wipe and flush, we're okay with that.
That would make him a Greyjoy, "We do not soap"

How come no one went for the obvious? You know you're a GoT geek when you visit a GoT forum on a daily basis. You know you're an uber-GoT geek when you make your own goddamn forum.
When I'm engrossed in reading I never look up information and especially spoilers. I stay away from that but keep a journal with a synopsis of everything read. I outline questions and my POV. Only after completion of that book do I search for answers. Westeros site came up frequently but I just could not figure out the way the site worked, very frustrating. The SVB blog I belonged to was so dispersed with members ( in large numbers) there was rarely follow through with the discussion group. So I did the unthinkable and searched the web and Wikipedia. Then stumbled onto WiC. From there I realized that I had been accessing Wiki- ASOIAF which was actually Westeros. I had to give them props and occasionally visit the site for detailed and smart references. Still, I hate to spoiled and seclude myself if necessary. Anyone one the internet that willingly enter into a forum is making a conscious decision to do so. It pains me when these folk get upset simply because they realize that they had no business being there in the first place. It's okay to peek, just own up to it .
Wiki of ASOIAF has been a good source for me of late as I've finished all 5 books thus far. I need to re-read but many for the quick pace that I accomplished it and sketchy notes towards the end. Aegon and others are so far ahead of me with factoids but I'll get there.
Umm....Warden Noye, did I understand that the king presented enough gold dragons to award each of us regulars a House Sigil Poster of our own ?

And then become Lord Paramount tehehehehe just realised one fifth of the comments on this forum are mine. SOmething tells me I talk too much.
No such thing your grace. At WIC and I fear Westros, it's almost like "I dare you to comment, I double dare you". It's like people are waiting to pick a fight on those threads. Here, we can post in peace, thank the Godswood, Don and Macha.

If you keep away from the show section of the site, westeros.org is not such a bad place. I actually visit regularly to read on some of the book threads, some are fascinating and some are funny as hell. I don't participate, but I've seen some really friendly people there and great discussions. It's unfortunate that some of its ambassadors have only managed to give the place a rather bad reputation.

And I find awoiaf.westeros.org an invaluable resource. I don't know how much of it is tied in to what goes on at the forum, but I certainly appreciate it. I don't care to be involved in the forum, however.

oh yes AWOIAF have been visited more times than I count when reading the books .
Oh yes, been there. Yes, many times. I just for some reason did not consider it part of Westros.org.

Westeros' wiki is great, even sections of their reviews are very detailed. Though the bitter book purists ruined it for me. There is a very bitter section to the GOT fandom and sadly many of them own computers. :-/

The sad thing is I spoiled the death of Khal Drogo for myself, hafl way through the book I just had to find out what GRRM had in store for my favourite barbarian. Needless to say I was very angry at myself, I spoil things for myself quite often.

You come to the realisation and undoubtable fact that you're a Nerdist because of the company you keep, all speaking in singular voice. No more faking it, just Geek/Nerdist accountability. It's rather blissful really. Now to quit thinking about tragic characters of ASOIAF while attempting another unrelated book !

I noticed that , thought I was seeing double. Wiki Pedia and Wiki-ASOIAF ( westeros ) have shown discrepancies.
