I also think Autumn Storms is prior to the RW. Speaking of which, I'm dying (sorry, bad pun) to know the name for that episode. Can't remember, do we know who's directing ep.9?
LF will take Dontos' role as hinted at in the finale.
I feared as much. Don't think I'm gonna like that. Still holding a candle of hope that they can somehow keep the big reveal moment, it's so well done! One of those precious WTF scenes in the book that I never saw coming. And how it plays with Sansa's expectations, to be dashed at the end like that... I really really hope some element of that can be kept.

I know this is not the majority opinion, but having just read Sansa's escape from King's Landing, I'm more than ever convinced that the "Purple Wedding" (and it should be black wedding, those were black amethysts in Sansa's hairnet, and Joffrey turned black when he choked) is going to take place as the Season finale.
Episode 7: "Winter Storms" All the lead-up to the Red Wedding, along with some various other POVs besides. Probably comprised of Davos, Arya, Bran, Dany, Jon, Catelyn chapters. Episode 8: The Red Wedding: Almost entirely Arya and Catelyn chapters, maybe ending with Bran Episode 9: A variety of episodes, especially catchup. Some Dany, Lots of King Landing and Wall. Episode 10: Sansa, Tyrion and Dany, major cliffhangers, Joffrey's dead, Tyrion arrested, Sansa spirited off, Dany discovers the truth about Jorah and Barristan and orders them into the sewers.
Bearing in mind that this is how I would adapt it. Without certain characters around to muck things up (Ser Dontos...The Red Viper) some of the events will happen much more quickly than in the books.

Rhaegar, despite wounding Robert, was struck down with a massive blow from Robert's warhammer, which scattered the rubies encrusted in Rhaegar's armor under the water. Rhaegar died with Lyanna Stark's name on his lips.
From a Joe Dempsie interview, he mistakes books 3 & 4 for books 4&5 but look:
“The third and fourth books are essentially the same time period split into two separate narratives, so [showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss] are incorporating both books – weaving the strands together – but making them into two series."

Actually there is a possibility: if the rumors are true and the Eyrie is featured in this season, they could move the marriage earlier in the timeline, it doesn't really affect anything else. I have a feeling we won't get to see The Fingers anyway, so that might give LF something to do this season.
Cary, having the PW this season implies that Tyrion will only have his trial and escape in S4. It just doesn't seem enough in my opinion. If Oberyn vs. The Mountain is in ep 9, and his escape in ep 10, then you'd still have 8 episodes to fill with just his trial. The trial can fit in ONE episode, for the love of R'hllor.

Not at all. You're going under the assumption that Season 4 won't go past the end of ASoS. I disagree, the way GRRM has writtten his chapters, there are numerous mini cliffhangers and lots of major cliffhangers throughout the novels. Season 4 will go about 1/3 into AFFC and at least 1/4 into ADWD. Season 4's Tyrion will most likely end with him falling off of a boat on the way to Slaver's Bay and apparently drowning. as happens in ADWD.

Ummm, I'd say no to that as well. My assumption that S4 ends (for Tyrion at elast) where ASoS ends is because him leaving Westeros is an obvious season cliffhanger. You get to wonder where will he go or what will happen to him for a whole year. There's no moment better than that, him falling into the water is not nearly as dramatic. If the ratings stay high, I'm willing to bet anything on the assumption that AFFC + ADWD = 2 seasons as well, althougt they will be treated as a whole (chronologically). I know they said this is an adaptation of the series, but there is simply no way they would want two seasons for ASoS and come out and say "yay, ASoS gets two seasons, we're so happy we can take our time with it", only to have three quarters of the book in S3, and cram a third of AFFC/ADwD into S4. It just contradicts the relief everyone felt (because they said it!) when finding out S3 and S4 will not be as rushed as S2 was.
Ugh, I can't find the interviews but they *did* say something along the lines of "we wanted to take our time with the story, and that's why you get two seasons covering one book". ASoS has great cliffhangers for all the characters, why would they diminish that impact?
I can't find the interview, but a long while back when we were all speculating about a season 3&4 renewal, I seem to remember they mentioned season 4 would be the part ASOS and part AFFC+ADWD. That would seem to suggest the PW is on this season. Oh, I wish I could find the frigging interview! I'll keep searching.

I remember that interview too, which is why I'm speculating what part of AFFC & ADWD will leave people hanging at the end of S4

Ok so how do you think they'll handle Osha and Rickon's story? If the Reeds are in, would the group stay intact for a longer time than in the books or will they have Osha depart with Rickon all the same? And if so, and assuming Osha and Rickon will still feature from time to time in future seasons, wouldn't that spoil readers just a bit? Yes, we know they ended up on Skaagos, but apart from that we don't know much about their fate.

I think they'll part. How much of a spoiler is it letting us know ahead of time they're on Skaagos?

They'll be on Skaagos for at least 2-3 seasons though, if all goes well. The only "glimpse" we had of Skaagos was Shaggy fighting with that goat-unicorn thingy. We have no clue what Davos will find there, and it was set up in the books as quite a dreary, dangerous place, so GRRM definitely wanted to build up suspense with those descriptions. Not saying they shouldn't show it, just really curious what, and how much they will show.
They can always invent some, can't they? Somewhere near Riverrun? Dunno. I wanna hold on to my dreams!!
And I don't think you'd need four days for filming one or two shots of camped soldiers.

According to Two Feathers (and we know he's a source we can fully trust) "a battle scene is to be shot in about three weeks time over four nights". What battle do you think it is? Something having to do with Robb's campaign? My first though was Styr's attack on the wall, but so far it seems the season might end with Jon's arrival at the Wall. Also, the actor playing Pyp already finished his scenes for this season, so that sort of rules out the attack on the Wall. Hmmm, I wonder who will direct this episode.
I'm of the idea they'll give Robb ONE big battle win before the doom. He deserves that and it would amplify his death's resonance.

That would be more of a slaughter than a battle, really. Four nights of shooting does seems a bit long for that. In three weeks time, hmmm...gotta keep an eye on twitter. By that time they'll be shooting in Morocco as well, won't they?

The way they're moving things around, I have a feeling that this could be Styr's attack on the wall and the season will end with the sudden arrival of the Wildling horde at the north side of the Wall.

A woman thinks there will be at least one Robb battle this season before the other events take over, he has to have a little more build-up through the season to show his arc better than in the books (where it's largely told 3rd hand).
I cannot think of anything else for that scene than something connected to Davos' rescue. Since the actor is said to be finished, probably some kind of background shoot, Sallador's ship or something like that.

Oh I wouldn't have come by this information if WiC hadn't posted it on twitter. I didn't think we would see Davos' rescue, so this is a bit surprising, but I'd be a fool to complain.

I feel certain PW is S3. More than ever now. Just don't know about filming regarding Dorne and Viper not being cast/announced yet. Huge relief to me. I really want Red in S4, not ready to go there in S3 yet. Fingers crossed.

Those are my thoughts, hopes as well. Yeah. Glad I'm not the only one!

According to The Rabbit (WiC) filming at Trsteno Arboretum included a scene with Sansa, Tyrion and Shae. So it seems that sets stands for KL, not Dorne or Highgarden, and not necessarily for the PW.

Your move, Cary.
I'm sorry, I did not realize this was a competition. Well, where could Sansa, Tyrion and Shae all be that has an abundance of flowers? And isn't their wedding, because we know it's been filmed, so it must be someone else's wedding. But who? I know... the PW!
