It's annoying to have that cliffhanger hanging all clifflike for the next few months. It needs to be one of the original Atlanta survivors and there aren't that many left to choose from: Rick, Carl, Darryl and Glenn. The death of Maggie or Michonne would count as a major death as well. However, the death of a B-Lister like Aaron, Rosita, Eugene, Abraham or Sasha wouldn't be as impactful and would be a serious cop-out by the show.
Rick and Carl are safe. The deaths of Maggie or Michonne would present some really challenging writing issues for Glenn or Rick's character; to the point where I think it would be unworkable UNLESS Negan immediately kills Glenn when pizza boy strikes out in blind anger. So they live (probably).
Glenn is the front-runner, but it could just as easily be Darryl, a show-only character. Which would suck because most of the best episodes rely a lot on him. I think a Maggie/Glenn twofer would be awesome and shocking, but it's a little far-fetched.

I don't even care who died. Maybe Negan will do us a favor and kill all of them. I keep hoping they'll salvage this show, but it's an incredibly slow, inconsistent, unintelligent slog through lame story arcs every single season. Enough already. Will someone else please make a zombie series worth watching?
Ugh Negan... that guy must be handsome and all but boy, he sucks.
Did I say I know who dies?

I know who dies in the comic book, but they might not go that direction. Since I don't think there is much more they can do with that character, I'm hoping it swings that way. Get it!?!?! SWINGS THAT WAY!
I have watched a season and change of Z Nation. It is bad. Can be enjoyable though. Sometimes.

It's definitely down to Glenn or Daryl. I'm hoping more than one character ends up dying in that sequence, though. Nothing else would truly justify the delay.
Oh, I saw a video floating around with a perfect count on Naegan and who dies according to his eeny, meeny, miny, moe ! It was hilarious. Wish I had bookmarked it. I know who dies too!
The season 7 premiere was the equivalent of a non-tranquilzed root canal. Its been nice TWD but I'm done, but you jumped the catch you on Netflix maybe.

That felt like watching a Peter Greenaway´s movie and I kinda knew what was going to happen. Lordy, not easy to watch even when I love to see Rick suffering.

Glenn and Abe are two of the most useless ones, honestly. But it was still hard to watch. Especially when he gets to Carl and the axe. Kinda feel like that axe will end up chopping a slice of Negan.
I´m no quitter ! Not till we have a final scene like that one in Downton Abbey, ´member? The three stooges hugging and laughing?

Hello!
I would like to amend my previous post. Once Abe got whacked, I came here to voice my displeasure -- I thought they copped out. After viewing the whole thing, I didn't hate the episode. They dragged the whole thing out and the weird mini-flashbacks were pretty dumb. And the ending didn't leave me wanting more: there was no bridge into the next episode. Here's what I would've done if I WERE IN CHARGE: end last season with Abe getting killed then open the new season with Glenn's death and maybe give us a minute or two of Carol and Morgan to finish the episode.
It's almost as if they are writing and editing the show for people who marathon series.

you'll never be in charge Atreyu! It's a small consolation too! So it was Glenn. I totally knew it. This Negan guy is a bitch. I really like the actor even in crappy movies I still like him. Some actors have a certain "je ne se quoi". I watched some of his TWD scenes
Honestly Atat this whole episode should have happened last season. And the only reason it was as gruesome and horrible as it was was because they felt compelled to deal a triple-punch because anything less would be considered holding back (after half-a-year's "waiting" for the season premiere). They shouldn't have faked Glenn's death last season, and his death should have bookended it. As is, it feels like they only brought him back to kill him a couple of episodes later so he gets to play floppy skin and bulging eye. Lame lame lame.
Honestly, this episode achieved everything it hoped to achieve- which is to be horrible through and through, hard to watch and entirely grim and irredeemable. Some reviewer likened it to if the last 10 minutes of the Red Wedding were spread over a whole episode. But do we honestly want that? Is this blatant shock value gore factor monstrosity really worth watching?
I'd say no. A show that needs to go this far to make us feel something is in a really poor situation. Can it get better? Will it? I'm sure it will. And then it'll return to being bad again. And then it'll be just okay. And then the season finale will be a bullshit cliffhanger. Because this show has always been inconsistent in quality and struggling with half finished arcs spread over far too many episodes (ever since season 2 it's been like this).
Now, this show isn't ending any time soon (that's clear to pretty much everyone) and there really is no end-of-the-horizon type of goal (post-Negan, that is, since he's supposedly a big thing) for an endgame. The comic writer was actually quoted saying it's a post apocalyptic zombie story that "goes on forever". So, honestly, it's not a question of IF we'll stop watching but rather WHEN we stop watching. When the time comes and we've had our fill of this aimless, inconsistent and pointless gorefest of a show (and that time WILL come for every one of us, for some it has already) we'll just give up and quit. And, most likely, we'll regret spending tens of hours of our lives on it in the first place.
Not sure if I'll keep watching. If Carol makes it interesting in episode 2 with the new characters it's possible. I should probably be quitting though. Which is what I've been telling myself for years.
For all it's flaws (and I know I am sounding like a broken record) it's still the best post-apocalyptic series that ever was. Added bonus: fucking zombies! TV history is littered with post-apocalyptic shows and I have watched most of them. I couldn't name a good one. Jericho? Revolution? The 100?
The complaints posted here and everywhere are valid. I can't argue against them and y'all know I like to argue.
For me, The Walking Dead is extremely my shit.

might be mine too, apparently. I don´t remember being so faithfull with any other show (when they suck).

Grrr ... last week was a Carol/Morgan episode (good enough, though) and this week is Saviors. I understand why they are doing this, but I really want to know what is happening with Rick and The Gang. I'd rather they split locations during an episode than devote an episode to one place. I am not going to bitch too much because they'll have a Hilltop episode next week just to piss me off.

For an introduction to the Saviors and the Sanctuary, the third episode this season was a letdown. Maybe it's because I'm not a Daryl fan, or the repetitions were too many, but I couldn't finish the episode and I don't care if I ever do.
Tonight's episode is back to the ASZ but the thought of watching it live isn't appealing anymore. I'd rather watch the Sesame Street parody:
This Negan interpretation has to stop now because is more annoying and ridiculous than scary. Has to stop now. OR ELSE.

I am liking how things are turning out. I wonder if Coral told anyone he was taking off. Maybe he left a note or had a discussion with Michonne offscreen.

I thought the same thing! There's no idea how long Enid will keep the secret (especially since she told Maggie she arrived alone) and Rick not knowing is definitely a no-no.
Enid putting the balloons in the wrong spot was adorable, and I liked the parallel of Maggie hitting Gregory the same way Glenn did to Nicholas.

I approve too. I liked, those weird times when TWD seem to have a point.

Well, the best thing on tv keeps chugging along. Negan finally got legitimately funny when he cracked on Olivia "Fish Biscuit" de Alexandria for her weight. I imagine Darryl is going to escape for real this time, likely hook up with Michonne and/or Jesus and reconnect with one of the other settlements. The Kingdom, I hope.
Next episode should be really good.

That was one cold-blooded kill by Darryl. Hadn't seen him do something like that before. Michonne had a turning bad moment too. Guess they gotta toughen up for the conflict.
Glad that Spencer and whatsherface are gone. Whittling down the minor characters will make the show better.

Because he just found Rick´s penis in that guy´s belt!!! but most of all, his lost balls. "Here Rick, love you and all, but grow a pair"
Now TWD defenitely reminded me of that last scene in Downton Abbey, they all hugging and happy to be together I don´t mind if we going to killem all, saviors and walkers and saviors and walkers and walkers and... stuff because atat is right, we need less characters so we can have way more next season. And zombies. Oh and please, someone kill Negan´s chuckle. Next sunday.
I liked Carol´s scene gtfo y´all No explanation, no chit chat, just gtfo. I will never stop watching this show, no matter how bad it gets.

Things kinda took a turn for the dumb this week. The armored zombie was stupid. I suppose there is some backstory to "Winston" that we will never hear, but that little transfer station community was a bit much. I accept King Ezekiel's weirdness, it was explained to my satisfaction, but the junkyard crew was hard to swallow.
Interested to see how they get Tara to spill her guts about Sappho upon Potomac.
IT'S A SHAKESPEARE JOKE! zing

When last I posted, two episodes aired. Eugene seems to have made peace living with Negan's crew. Did he go darkside? Maybe. This is how he's survived this long. I am hopeful that when the time comes, he'll risk it all for his friends. Sadly, I don;t see Eugene making it much longer. I couldn;t stand him at first, but over time his character has become endearing. Especially when he isn;t doing his schtick and is being genuine.
Anyone catch the Narnia connection with Jadis of trash land? Wonder what (if anything) it means.
The latest episode was good enough, though they went a little overboard with the Rick dying misdirection. Less is more, people. No need to drag that scene out. We get it. Tara was predestined to spill her guts. Wonder how they are going to get close enough to Sappho on Potomac (c'mon, that's GOLD!) to deal.

It was satisfactory, mein Liebchen. I really should have posted last week because I expected King Ezekiel to ride in on a horse with reinforcements a la Gandalf the White to save Helm's Deep. It was going to be a really good post and funny. Sigh.
Sorry Sasha had to go. Shoulda been you, Rosita. Surprised they didn't kill more people. I woulda bet a million dollars that Aaron's boyfriend was going to get killed in the finale too. Guess they are saving his death for next season. Gonna be plenty of deaths in season 8 with at least one major character: Morgan and Carol are the most expendable of the original crew. But don't rule out Darryl. I think Maggie is pretty safe. Any actor not with the show since the farm are on the menu. Pretty sure Eugene is dead.
Can't wait for Rick to kill the shit out of Jadis. Nah, Michonne's gonna do it.

too funny. Also glad to read that my faves are still alive Carol and Daryl baby FTW! I may be an armchair fan but I'm a TRUE armchair fan. These two have some of the best OTP vids from TWD on the youtube. (A girl has to have some OTP to root for, you know?!)
I can't recall all TWD season finales but that must have been one of the worst. Like nobody saw the double-cross coming. "hey we never met you before but just have this bunch of guns and we'll open our gates to let you in" - always a recipe for fun times. And of course Carol's crew come in like the cavalry and Negan and the White Witch of Narnia get away. The Michonne fake death was frankly insulting. And Maggie's soppy speech was AWFUL.
And what is it with characters about to die getting these weird dream sequence things. Maybe it just runs in Sasha's family. (Actually enjoyed her explosion from the coffin. Good work Sasha. But of course she only takes down a red shirt. Bye Sasha, we'll remember you forever with all the other under-developed characters. Say hi to Beth for us... I expect Tara will be joining you soon. With Alexandria bloke's boyfriend.)
Oh well, at least we have weasel Gregory's death to look forward to. That will be nice.
God, isn´t this season really annoying? Can´t stop watching.
