Enjoyed that episode, the Rick moments were quite intense. Anyone else think that Dr kinda looks like Bill Hicks? Is Mullet is all forms of awesomeness.

My thoughts exactly, Cary. Maybe they're trying a little too hard with the "character development" now. I'm just grateful they didn't go with a romance angle. Yet.
exactly what I said and then I laughed my ass off. Daryl can lower his guard, that´s makes him Daryl... he eats squirrels and snakes and makes terrible noises when eating ().
Daryl´s crying is not character development! it´s treachery!

So glad I am not the only one. The episode felt like a chore to me. It's another example of why TWD needs to cut down to a regular 12 or 13 episode season IMO.
I also can't stand Beth so perhaps that's a big reason why I didn't enjoy it.

This. And Daryl mocking her was supposed to be dick, but it failed because it's what everyone on the planet has wanted to tell her since season 2. She's completely ridiculous.

"Just excuse me while I go off hunting for an alcoholic beverage, I mean it's only the zombie apocalypse."
I would be so pissed if I was that actress and got that script. "I'm doing WHAT?" I guess both Carl and Beth got their own teenage rebellion episodes this season. *disgusted*
I wanna try moon shine AND Daryl ... I mean come on ! I know you didn't want the romantic angle BaSi , but in the real world they would of shagged like buck rabbits !
AND another thing ... how is there sooo many zombies left ? They are in the country , not a heavily populated place and they must of killed 1000's over the time scale ... really ? they are still coming at them in hordes.

There's an image. Yes, they probably would have. And that's fine if that's all it is. I just don't want to see Daryl getting all mushy over that insipid girl.
Better than the previous episode as far as advancing the plot. But yeah, they could have accomplished the same thing in ten minutes. It's ridiculous that it's taking so many episodes to get anywhere. Here's hoping for a payoff at some point before the end of the season.
Was there a blonde girl at the beginning of the episode who wasn't there at the end? Who is she again? Maggie's sister? What? She's been on for 3 seasons, you say?
*pause, go do something else*
Beth? Who is Beth?

Much better episode this time but yeah the show has become extremely frustrating to follow. It amazes me how AMC treat TWD like shit yet it still manages to pull in these gargantuan ratings.
VERY strong episode, things that were set-up at the start of the season paid off very well.
It has a lot a to do with the actors, Carol ( Melissa McBride) who was nothing but a wallflower
in season 1 and 2 really came to her own and actually is one of my favorite actors on the show.
"Look at the flowers sweety...just look at the flowers".

If only the show was consistent each week then TWD could be up there with the best of them. Heartbreaking episode, quite bold as well to choose that route.
I'm going to buck the trend and say I was very much not happy with this episode. It was a cheap plot device. Especially the part where Tyrese goes all like, "It's okay that you kill people as long as you feel bad about it." What the fuck? That was some dumb shit.

To be honest TWD will have to come up with lots of new plot devices.
We discussed this in chat how the show has a narrative problem, their conflict is very one note.
Season 1, they have a camp...it gets overrun...they have CDC and humans fuck it up.
Season 2, they have a farm...it gets overrun.
Season 3-4, they have a prison...humans fuck it up and it gets overrun.
How much you wanna bet that Terminus either gets fucked up by humans and/or gets overrun?
The dramatic concept of the show is problematic and as the seasons drag on it becomes more and more obvious, and there arent enough good writers on this show to make it work well.

I finally watched the latest episode last night. It was probably the best of the character development episodes they've wasted the second half of the season on. I'm just hoping that they're done, and the next two episodes have some good plot development. The Terminus thing could open some doors for something that's finally different. Or it could be a retread of what we've already seen too many times. I hope the next two episodes are interesting enough to make season 5 worth watching, because most of season 4 so far has sucked.
I thought I saw Denise Crosby in the opening credits and wondered "Oh MY GOD what kind of sicko is she going to play," and then I wondered if I actually saw her name or not.
Then there she was. Thanks to all of you I am now completely suspicious about what Terminus is and the granola and herb queen that appeared at the end was no comfort. What's she cookin' up?
Spoiler
IS IT PEOPLE????

Not at all what I expected. I suppose they could have a few folks in sniper/overwatch positions, so the lack of guards isn't that disturbing. But the unlocked gates are just...incomprehensible. The woman not noticing a group of people approaching, also incomprehensible. The brainwashing vibe is disappointing. The cannibalism vibe is hilarious.
Finally an episode that focused on multiple characters, I was beginning to tire of just following certain individuals at a time.
Yeah as soon as I saw the BBQ grill my immediate thought was cannibalism. One thing I didn't like about the episode is the fact they left out the passionate sex scene between Glen and Maggie.....
That was a more subdued finale than I expected, good character moments but might it be enough to tide us over till next year? And I am sure they were eatin' people "the more people join us, the stronger we get"
didn´t know it was the finale... and to answer your question I think this episode was actually very very good, in fact, was the only good episode for me. The dialogues were awesome, like they are really trying to tell a story (at the end )
So l have to keep watching Don, dammit.
saw some ribcages and other human bones lying around, so probably left overs.
I can´t remember this Terminus place from the comics.

The Rick pendulum has swung again...good Rick, bad Rick, good Rick, bad Rick. Best episode of the season, even though that isn't saying much. I really liked it, except for the Hershel flashbacks. They were good, but felt out of place, and I felt like they really disrupted the pace. Overall, a fun way to end a pretty awful season.
The best episode of the second part of the season is still the one where Carol put down Lizzie Of Mice and Men style.
That finale was meh. The showdown between Rick and the dude from SOA was over far too quickly, although I did like the nasty way Rick took him out. I am sick to death of Carl going back and forth between loving his dad and hating/fearing him, enough already we've been there and done that. The flashbacks at the prison were a waste of time, nothing more than filler scenes to build up the cliffhanger. And where the fuck was Tyreese and Carol? or Beth for that matter? TWD can be such a frustrating show at times, the first half of this season was great but the second half has dragged along at a snails pace.
It amazes me how TWD continues to pull in gargantuan ratings when rarely does the show push the boundaries or go outside of Georgia. I guess zombies are still a popular attraction for the mainstream.
Also am I the only one who's noticed that Maggie has barely mentioned her sister in the last couple episodes? I know Glenn is a sex muffin but she's still your sister!
The Carol/Crazy Girls episode was really quite good. Especially the "watch the flowers" scene...so heartwrenching. The first three episodes of the season and the last three were decent, but the rest of the season sucked. There were good moments, but not much else to make them worth watching.
What annoys me most about this show is that there don't seem to be any immutable "rules" for how things work with the zombies. Their nature and their abilities change depending on convenience to the plot. Is there anything about this show that's consistent?
In hindsight the whole season seemed to be a course correction for the show, in all honesty the writing has improved a lot and the character moments do seem a lot more polished.
So I was wondering how a cable show like "The Walking Dead" can have some of the most gruesome violence on TV yet people can't say the word "fuck". This is an interesting read.

Yeah Rick's last line would of sounded so much more badass if he had simply said "They're fucking with the wrong people."
Great read Don thanks.
I remember Andrew Lincoln talking about a scene in season 1 where Rick was having intercourse with his wife and there was a supervisor standing closely by making sure it wasn't too erotic or filthy, but when it came down to slaughtering zombies he was given free reign to do whatever the hell he felt like
It's one of the reasons why I wish Preacher was on HBO instead of AMC, that series is extremely graphic.

It is a very puritanical American thing, no sexy time or pottymouths! But you go ahead and gut that zombie and pull out it's zombie guts for rotten squirrel! No problemo!
Priorities!

It's funny when American stars come over here to do chat shows and they hear all the British hosts and guests swearing live on tv, they're so shocked
