That was better, new characters bring in new energy...I could not quite place Aaron he had a familiar face, then I remembered him from this awesome parody video!

Hmmm I think the episode wasn´t as bad as the previous one, just that. An entire episode to tell about one guy´s trust issues. Please die Rick.
Thanks for that Donnie, couldn´t placed him myself either.

I guess it helps that I am not that hyped for this show as much so my low expectations can only be exceeded. They did a really good job at making this safe zone feel completely different than Terminus, eventhough the situation was pretty much the same. I like the new leader Diana, and the videotape segments were well done, especially loved that Carol lied about who she was ( tho the fact she carried the biggest gun in the group should've been a red flag).
The best part was Rick earning a well-earned shave, one of the rare, well done character moments that are too rare in this show.
I knew I recognized the blonde that gave Rick his haircut, good ol sexy Moira from American Horror story season 1!

Yup, this.
I guess it's different for me as well because I binged the first seasons in less than a month, so it still feels fresh somehow even when everything gets recycled. I don't know what many characters are doing there anymore, but oh well. There is a lot of potential, if they're brave and creative enough to leave the show's "safezone" behind.
Meh episode, but as always Daryl and especial Carol were the highlights. Her cookies and death monologue might be one of the best things this whole season.
Edit...some folks are calling this the "Cookie monster scene" oh internet, you are awesome.

this show needs to waste a whole episode or more than just one to build up just a horny Rick. Hilarious.

No spoilers, just speculation, but the Internetz seems pretty convinced Daryl is gonna bite it in the finale. Which would be good in a way, because then I'd be convinced I have no reason whatsoever to keep watching this.
Unless they kill Rick. Hmm, yes that could work for me.
Morgan is awesome, and technically he is a black male that survived since season 1, so a true exception, lets see how he fares next season.
Preacher dude should die, him leaving the gate open is an instant death sentence in my book, and douchebag in the woods that tried to kill Glenn ( 3!!! damn times) and Glenn forgives him?
No good actions go unrewarded....we shall see. Carol should've killed Boozy McWifebeatey while she had a chance, he was a terrible character by the way. How much interesting would he have been is he was not written in such lame, broad strokes?
A decent season, but the show is classic, two steps forward, one step back....they better shake things up big time next season, cuz they are runnin' outta steam.

Ninja-Morgan was probably the best thing in the entire snooze-fest of a season.
Are we watching the spin-off too? Lemme know, I can only function in a pack.
I watched it a couple of nights ago. It's mediocre so far. The characters are pretty two-dimensional, and the acting doesn't excite me. But it's only the first episode, so I'm hoping for improvement. It's kind of fun knowing how things are going to go while there's such confusion between the characters.
Yeah it's...alright, I guess. The Walkin Dead pilot was much better, but this one actually seems like it could make for a better show in the long run. Maybe I'll eventually come to care about the characters this time round. Problem is, it's eventually going to become exactly like the Walking Dead once the outbreak is over, unless they really try and shake things up.

Agreed. I'm hoping that they had a few great ideas for where to go with this series instead of a retread in a different location, but that might by wishful thinking.
Cliff Curtis is pretty great, then again I am a fan of him. I like the whole " world slowly unraveling" something the original series skipped past. But the characters don't feel very interesting on their own. But meh, what else is on anyways?

They missed the one where they held hands in the van on the overpass surrounded by zombies. It was the best.
Everyone knows Beth was the perfect first girlfriend for Darryl. A little young, but it would've made a sweet romance. Then he would be ready for Carol when the time came.
Darryl's a virgin, btw.

The Walking Dead spinoff reminds me of those online only specials they made. It is just so bland and boring, I swear I spent more time messin' around with my phone....bleh.

I binged season five this weekend. Not bad. Not great. I agree with the folks who thought the fire hose thing was dumb as hell, made dumber that the effects were bad. Although, they did give some zombie physiology lessons this season -- they get soft as time goes by. I suppose that's why it appears so easy to slice a zombie's head in half like a melon.
Gonna miss Beth, I thought she was a good character and a decent actor.
I disliked the Eugene/Abraham story line from the start. I always suspected Eugene was lying about having a cure, and when he talked about launching missiles from some control room in DC I knew it. Other characters should have seen through it as well.
I like Aaron a whole lot. I think he's an example of good writing: we didn't know he was gay from the start and he is a tough guy. The show needs more writing of that caliber.
They killed off a bunch of black characters. Pour one out for my eaten homie, Noah. RVA represent.
McGrady Hospital was a waste of time, but had some decent scenes. The shit cherry on that shit sundae was Beth stabbing Dianne for absolutely no reason. If the writers wanted Dianne killed to free Noah, the rent-a-cops were already trying to do it. Fail.
Morgan's back. Which is really cool.
Wondering why they didn't retake terminus once the cannibals were beaten. Maybe the thought of living there was too creepy.
Father What's-His-Face is a joke. Wondering what they are going to do with him next season. Seems like a pretty nothing character to try and shoe horn in a redemption arc for him. Pretty sure he dies soon.
I liked just about everything they did with Alexandria. They were obviously soft and needed Rick's gang in the worst way.
How long do people think Alexandria is going to last? Every safe haven has been overrun: the farm, the prison, Woodbury, Terminus, etc. If the place doesn't get overrun, what will motivate the gang to leave? I think they are going to be there for a long time and the next season will probably consist of them shoring up their defenses and finding another doctor. Look for a lot of character conflicts, flashbacks and not many zombies.

Yup, mentioned that since season 3, the show has a tiresome formula. The conflict is either with humans vs humans or humans vs zombie, and it is getting old fast.

I figured out what this season is going to be about. Zombie-fighting training montages! Rick's gang is gonna toughen up the Beltway pansies. That coupled with this season's Big Bad, the Wolf Heads, the potential for comedy is high. I swear, the Wolf Heads are on the junior varsity post-apocalypse squad.

Zombie quarry was dumb. Just shore up the road block and rig together a heavy duty garage door. That way, they can let a few out at a time and kill them off piece meal. Good way for the Beltway Babies to get some training. But noooooooooooo.

Yeah the start of the plot was a bit silly, and herding a HUGE herd of zombies like that is a bad idea. Still enjoyable premiere, lets see how the rest of the season holds up.

Yup, agreed. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Can they put someone other than Rick in charge for once? PLEASE? I also noticed that their car doesn't seem to have a horn or CD player. Why you being so quiet, Sasha? How about dragging some cans behind the car? Yelling? SOMETHING? Naw, we'll jump out of the car and bash whoever wanders off the path instead.
Meh. An interesting beginning at least. I'm happy to see they won't be spending the season hanging around their new digs planting gardens and crocheting winter hats. And Carol and Darryl are still alive and kicking. Maybe they'll find a way to keep it interesting. Then again, with their implausible new adversaries, a shiny new selection of black guys to kill, and the impending teenage love triangle, it's hard to be optimistic.
What I don't understand is why they keep making Carol play her I'm-a-harmless-little-mouse game anymore. It didn't lead to anything last season and by the looks of it, it won't be of any significance this season either. What's are the stakes in fooling anyone now, since Rick is clearly in control and it's not like the community could turn against them anymore, with that giant horde heading their way?
BTW, Fear The Walking Dead's finale was muuuch better.
Why don't the Wolf Heads have guns? Firearms are all over the place and yet they don't have any. Curious. And what's with the red A's that keep popping up? Most recently on Rick's porch railing.
Not a bad episode, but I still think the Wolf Heads are lower tier bad guys. We haven't seen the last of them yet -- one of them snatched Chekov's 9mm on his way out of Alexandria and we still don't know why they do what they do to the zombies. Maybe we coulda found out more if they had captured one of them, which they did and then Carol popped him. That's dumb, she's shrewd and knows information they might provide would be valuable.
Eugene has a love interest. Morgan got over killing people. Aaron's man might be dead.
We didn't see hide nor hair of the coming horde. Which is what TWD does so well: they make you want to see what happens next.
ETA: When the kitchen timer went off and Carl pulled the casserole out of the oven, I laughed. That was well done.

Good ep, kept the momentum going and it seems it might continue next week.
Lots a questions about the Wolf Heads, why attack in the light of day? Wouldn't a night attack work better? Esp since for some reason they don't have guns.
I was very worried about Morgan, I kinda thought he would get offed in the house and another poor black guy kicks the bucket on this damn show.

A pretty good ep! But yeah, the no guns thing for the W dudes makes no sense. Maybe they have guns, but foolishly burned through all their ammo? They've been portrayed as being that stupid, but I'm not sure they are.
I'm seeing a religious-type fervor with the W. It's the only way I can make sense of their actions...maybe they believe killing the rest of the living is God's work or something along those lines. Otherwise, randomly killing every person you see is just lame, and I'll be annoyed with this show. Again.
As for Morgan, his actions are completely inexplicable. Idealism gets you killed. Worse, it could get someone else killed. Isn't that exactly how his son ended up dead? He refused to kill someone he should have. And now he repeats that mistake? Doesn't make sense.
