ok, finally started with this show. Watched season 1 and now starting season 2. Loving it. Walt is such an amazing character, only caring for him of course, at least for now. Lordy, the rest of the characters are so good and so so annoying. Human nature, how selfish we can be, it´s disgusting and it´s so good because it´s tricky. The writer/s had all wrap up like is a  family thing blah blah... but it´s pure rampant selfishness, we just can´t stop looking at our own navel. I think you can see this very clearly in Skyler. She looks good and she seems to love Walt but boy she´s awful. Amazing actress btw. I want to grab her by the neck and choke her to death most of the time. "You can´t answer when I call you?" "Where have you been this time?" "Talk to me Walt"... climb out of his ass bitch, just 5 minutes. I wonder why Walt loves her and if he actually love her. The endless fights with her sister. Grow the fuck up woman.

I laughed and I cried like a stupid cow. So many great details, funny or dramatic. Impecable directing, cinematography, music (!) and script. Brilliant dialogues, most of the time without saying much. Great acting and characters. Hank, lol, what a dangerous douche.

I had no idea about the writers or directors of this series. Need some checking.

Glad you liking it Andi, this is one of the few shows that remain quality from beginning to end.

I'd easily now put BB in my top 3 ATG shows The Wire, The Sopranos and Breaking Bad. I still feel The Wire is the king though.

wow this show. Now I like Jesse too, took me a while tho, wanted to smack him everytime he opened his mouth. I really like how the characters, very slowly, show other aspects of their personalities. Season 2, ep 6 was such a gem. That wee dirty, messy ginger boy.

I keep hating Skyler´s guts tho and talking about women, do we know how many women watched this show??? because lordy, we are bitches here. It´s just like one woman with different hair color or age and all of them bitches.

Again, the dialogues are great, very simple but with so much going on underneath. Brilliant.

I freaking love the contrast between Hank and Walt and how much time they took to show that through these two seasons I watched and I guess they are just starting. "Where do they come from... criminals like the one you... What do you think it is that makes them who they are".

And the layer!!! Better call Saul. Who´s that actor? Amazing character, so well written. So real, terrible and funny.

Some scenes between Walt and Jesse are priceless. the blowfish scene, the scene in the RV when they are lost in the dessert. The robot wow wow wow.

Bitch is smoking and flirting now? disbelief  I keep waiting for Walt to explode but I hope that won`t happen soon.

loving this.

I´m out of wows for this show. So many goodies, funny shots after big dramatic scenes, idk, you can talk plenty about this. Gale´s scenes in his house, listening the italian or chinese music. So much detail in such short scene. Really great. I can´t believe the music in this show, so perfectly picked.

Just two things annoyed me for like 5 seconds, how the writer/s abused Jesse´s fuck ups to move the plot.  And sometimes Giancarlo Esposito seems off, I don`t know how to explain. But 5 seconds in 4 seasons (yes, there I am)?, nothing. The 3 last episodes of season 3 were probably the best so far for me.

Saul cracks me up. "lazer tags are good investment and you have the chance to shoot your kids".

Badger, oh lordy, such a tool but nazizombies , think about it people. "They won´t eat you for protein"

Oh and this, only one good woman (tho Skyler is getting better) and her name is Andrea. Must be the first!

ok, finished season 4. Have to say I had my jaw on the floor more than once but, despite all the unpredictable fun this show had to offer, especially in this season, I didn´t love it. Was thinking last night that reminded me of Reservoir dogs mix with whatever comic. It´s over the top fun comic book and that´s just fine but I prefer BB season 2. This season, or at least half of it, seemed directed and written by Robert Rodriguez. I mean, this:

Episode-413-GusFace-560.jpgc´mondisbelief. Is consistence tho, of course, Terminator Gus had to go to give birth to creepy Walt´s villain. While watching season 3 I wondered if Walt would turn into  a clever Tuco and I loved the idea, I just hope it won´t be so over the top like this season was. It´s real fun but something was lost along the way for me. I guess the writers were really excited

Oh another one I didn´t like was the cartel scene. Is not fair I know, but I couldn`t stop thinking in some scenes from The Godfather (mass murders). For some reason this cartel scene, although very well shot and blah blah was too much. But anyway, many scenes from this show reminded me The Godfather, mostly seeing Walt´s changes. Reminded me of Michael Corleone many times and I loved that and I wish they can go back to that subtlety.

But yes, sure, was amazingly shot and well written fun. Great tv.

Now i want to know, whur´s Mike?

Oh lol, I know you gringos probably didn`t notice but the spanish accents in this show are terrible. Not that I care for that a lot but  you know, a little research wouldn`t hurt Cubans and Puertoriqueños pretending to be mexicans, gringos with mexican faces pretending to talk perfect spanish (when diction is pretty awful sometimes) and not one and especially not Gus and his bf talking like real chileans. I get it, if you have Giancarlo Esposito you won`t hire a chilean actor to dub him, not saying that but  you know, why even talk about chileans, it´s a very particular accent. And if it was for the whole military coup and cruel dictators, every country in southamerica had more than one of those. So no, we are not all the same south of your border Vince Gilligan. We can tell the difference between a british, a northamerican, an australian or a southafrican. So maybe you can too.calmyotits

Season 5 here I go.

Total binge! Finished watching. Loved season 5, luckily very different from season 4. Enjoyed all of it, especially when Walt scared the crap out of Gretchen and Elliot.evileye Don´t really know what to say. Now it´s hard to keep watching some crap I was watching so, no more. That´s what great tv does to you.

But yes, still were a couple of over the top decisions like Mike´s death (bad bad scene) or Andrea (calmyotits) and of course the 9 guys from the list. But hey, it´s nothing. I wish GoT had some of BB the writers and directors.

So thanks to jap who made me watch The Wire and this one. smile

Wow...Breaking Bad is cleaning up at the awards shows this year. Rightly so.

Although I loved Jesse's maniacal laughter and drive off into the distance at the end, I always will wonder where he went with no resources. There was no Saul anymore and he probably couldn't go back to his house to pick up some stuff. I'm thinking that he probably had bags of money stored in odd places (from the blind drops & pick ups with Mike) but he probably had no formal ID. Did he use the relocation/re-identification guy as well? Did he pay one last visit to his brother and parents?

As others have said, it is really refreshing to see a show go out at the top of its game. The creative storytelling arc of season 2 stands out incredibly on a rewatch. Season 4's tension blew me away. For some reason, every time there was a scene with Holly, I was mush afterwards. Best use of an infant in a show ever, imho.

The final scene with Walt leaving a blood-stained handprint on the meth kettle was an incredible departing image as well. May Heisenberg rest in peace.

I enjoyed this show, but I think it's only on par with GoT and not any better. Deadwood, the Wire, the Sopranos, True Detective is still better. The acting was great at times, but many characters were annoying and I couldn't wait for them to die (Jesse, hank, Walt jr, hanks wife, Mike, and Jessie's GF (the first one, even though she was super sexy). I loved Badger and Skinny Pete.

The amazing thing about this show was how it maintained its quality throughout. Some scenes were too over-the-top/unbelievable like the mass poisoning and the robot machine gun, but those were few and far between. Not a lot of filler and it was the perfect length (five seasons) for a dramatic series.

Jesse was my favorite character and I was sure he was going to die. In fact, I believed he would because I mistakenly thought his death was spoiled for me a year or so ago. Don't nobody worry about Jesse: there's 70 million dollars laying around out there, he'll find part of it. I'll write the fanfic.

I forget when I lost sympathy for Walt. After a few seasons I just wanted him to die terribly and alone. Despite that, I was torn up a bit when he died. He did not redeem himself, but he finally had an epiphany that he was a selfish asshole who destroyed a lot of lives.

Finally watched all of BB and I have to say it was pretty good. Now I'm not zealous fan and I do have to say that I was sort of bored for the first few seasons until the Gustavo Fring plots started. I feel Skylar is similar to the family in The Sopranos...nothing but long drawn out depressing takes that made me want to drink.

Anyway, fast forward to a whopper of a season 4 and then to top it off, season 5 which has some of the best TV I've ever seen.

Would have to say my favorite scene is the cold open to Say My Name.

Glad you liked it At, I agree. I think this show is the prime example of a show that quit while it was ahead. I wish more shows would do that.
