Poor Alex, King of the Haystack, is not well. I think the heat was too much for him. Going to the vet in a couple of hours, and hopefully he just needs an IV. Never seen him like this.

As long as I go about it the correct way, and as long as the babies aren't right there, they usually let me get pretty close. I move very quietly, I keep very still, and I think there's a possibility, since I leave them blossoms I've carried back there, they may know my scent.

I just got a new dog this week! He came from Oklahoma. His owner died and nobody in the remaining family could give him a home. He doesn't quite fit into the pack here yet, but everyone seems to be adjusting pretty well. I probably didn't mention that in January I unexpectedly lost the pup who had knee surgery. The house has seemed so empty without him, so it's nice to have a new wagging tail and happy face around.
St. Bernards have that barrel beneath their neck with whiskey in it, good doggy!
