Is it possible that he's just been trolling us the whole time since ADWD and he's actually been getting his arse in gear and writing more than seems possible while he's been jaunting around and all his little projects?

Seems hard to credit where he could find time really to have a final draft ready even by the end of next year, despite the head start with chapters that were written for ADWD but held over..

That is my main problem with Meereen and Dany's "oriental" chapters in general. Too much stereotyping going around and poorly developed characters with overly complicated names that of course add to their "otherness". Poor writing overall, with a predictable outcome.

 The thing is, and I agree with Atreyu here, that even if by some miracle the book would be ready, no sane publisher would release TWoW so close to The World of Ice and Fire. And I don't think we can suspect Grrm of surprising everyone with an unexpected release. Remember, we're talking about the same guy that said AFfC and ADwD would be released only months apart.

Big "Lost" fan, I did not know Bender by name, but I looked up what episodes he directed and they have been the best of the show.

VERY excited what he brings to table, the directing slots look great....now who will be writing season six?

I'm not so much mad at Martin as I am disappointed that my TWOW prediction was wrong. What I am mad about is all those sycophantic taint snorklers who were rude to me and/or others when we said Martin's non-ASOIAF activities were interfering with his work on the series. Shawn Speakman, Werthead, etc. etc. Wish I could track down their "wisdom" and cram it down their fucking throats.

We were right all along.

 As usual, she's taking out her frustrations on random people.  I saw one exchange where she was doing her usual bitching about the show, someone pointed out the show put her on the map, asked her how TWOIAF book sales were going (the implication being the show majorly bolstered sales for that book, which, of course, bolstered the money she makes from it), and told her to stop whining.  Her response?  Stop breathing or put your head in an oven.

 

She was also whining about how, since she isn't a "regular" fan (love that), she couldn't just ignore what the show was doing (in response to someone telling her, if you hate it so much, don't watch).

 

Poor, poor Lindaaaa.
