Season One, early episode ( 2 or 3 ) ; The impact of " Lady " , Sansa's Direwolf near the Kingsroad and Bran waking from his coma at Winterfell. That scene played well with visual impact and feeling.
Cersei's elephant tears ( elephants do not cry ) to Catelyn about her miscarriage and Robert's sadness.She was relating to Catelyn's grief of Bran's near death fall. Later Cersei confronts Ned at King's Landing, telling him that she intentially aborted Robert's son with Jaime's help. I thought her willfully cruel while reading these passages, but onscreen spoke volumes.
The one that got me into Jon Snow and Game of thrones even more by episode 4:
"So I sat there, in the brothel, as Ross took off her clothes. But I couldn't do it. Becuase all I could think was, what if I got her preganat? What if she had a child? Another bastard named Snow. It's now life for a child."

I have said this numerous times over at WiC but my favorite line is Tyrion at the Battle of Blackwater. I didnt like the way they did it with the whole "Braveheart/Riders of Rohan" speech in the show but I guess its to be expected. In the book, Tyrion says to Balon Swan (I think, maybe Mandon Moore and Pod too) when he sees some of Stannis' men attempting to fight the Kings men on a wildfire covered ship, "Those are brave men. Now let's go kill them!" That line always stuck with me and it totally sums up Tyrions character for me.

In the book, its a great one liner by Tyrion. He is witnessing men risk death by wildfire in order to advance on an enemy. Tyrion is such and honorable character that he respects what Stannis men are doing. But then he simply says, "now lets go kill them" so matter of factly. It wasn't done nearly as well will the big build up speech. But thats just me. I have acted out this scene in my head and in front of my mirror many times.
