I know Ang said she was gonna post this picture of our meetup in Berkeley on Sunday, but I got impatient and wanted to show you all that we did in fact meet on Sunday! The first fleabottom meetup ever! More to come (Nymeria I'm lookin'at you.) !

OMG, Don...that is one of the funniest things I've seen since...
I don't know when.
Not that you didn't already have my love, but you now have my undying love forever, and ever, and ever...
I bow before you!!!
One teeny lil thing, though, at the beginning, it says it's by me. What you did is far, far too brilliant to inadvertently give credit where it is not due.
May I share that, elsewhere?

Those are some cool shots! Best I got is the pics where they filmed one of the Nolan's Batman movies... It's underground. And nothing older than 70 yrs probably. So nothing like this
Oh, Cary! So jealous . Trip of a lifetime. Looks like you two had a great time.

I went to the Game of Thrones Concert this weekend.
- My favorite part of the experience was seeing Ramin Djawadi in the flesh. On Twitter he seems like an amazing person and the way he treated the audience and smiled and reacted to our reactions, it felt genuine.
All the seats in front of my row were empty so I had a great view of the band and Ramin. The photo is NOT zoomed in and was taken before the concert started.
- The arena wasn't full but there were a lot of VIP tables. They were on the floor nearest the stage.
- I wanted to meet Ramin but one had to buy VIP + pay for the Meet and Greet. VIPs also got early entry and were allowed to sit on the Throne(!). Us peasants had to wait in line outside and stay behind a red rope once we got in. Also: costumes!
- I could see a lot of empty seats from mine but it was more than I expected and the enthusiasm made up for it. There were moments of "QUEEN CERSEI!!!" and "SHAME!!" and someone started a loud boo going when Ramsay showed up at one point and there was a collective "Awwwwww" when Hodor appeared in the Memoriam segment.
- Ramin ended the night by saying, "Go rewatch seasons 1 through 6 and get ready for 7!" That's what we were left with: a promise that s7 would be here this summer.
Overall, it was a "Blink and you'll miss it" experience that was worth the money spent (and probably worth more for the bonus stuff too). So if you get a chance to or it comes back around, Go!!!
- Each song had a montage, some songs had entire scenes played after them and Ramin would speak to us in between others.
- The Rains of Castamere was followed by him saying, “You know what that means. The doors are locked.” Then the Red Wedding scene played.
- The traveling band is about 10 people. Everyone else on stage with him were from the local chamber choir and symphony orchestra of the town he's in.
- Ramin played an instrument for five songs and each time was a different one. He'd even share facts like, "This is what I use when I make music for Arya scenes" and "This is a 14ft wind instrument that was introduced for the Dothraki theme”.
- The intro was the first song but here’s most of the second song:
I am deff gonna go if they do one next year, I wonder did they give you guys a program? I wonder what the playlist was.
We didn't get programs so I took notes during the show.
-*Cersei Intro “Lords, ladies… *cough* peasants…” -Intro theme -Houses of GoT medley -Stark theme -Greyjoys/Theon -*Ramin said hello and introduced the traveling band individually +local orchestra+ local chamber choir -Dothraki/Dany theme -Melisandre/Baratheon/Battle of Black Water -Rains of Castamere -*Ramin: “Now you have heard the Rains of Castamere, you know what that means. The doors are locked.” -*Red wedding scene* -Wights and the Battle with the Wildlings -Ygritte/Jon Snow -*Dany gets the army of Unsullied* -Dany is accepted as Mhysa -*Ramin: “We’re going to take a little break and we’ll be back with more.” Intermission. -*s7 trailer tease* -The Children – Stark montage -*Ramin introduced an instrument, “This is what I use for Arya’s theme and this is a song called Needle” -Needle - Arya's dance lessons to Hall of Faces -*High Sparrow intro* -*Bell ringing and audience members began to yell “Shame. Shame…” along with the Septa -Dany’s theme/Sons of the Harpy/Dragons -*Jon’s death scene and Bran meeting The Three Eyed Raven* -Battle of Hardhome/Bran/Hodor’s death -*Jon’s resurrection* -Battle of the Bastards/Sansa arrives -Maesters -*Loras and Cersei Montage with the septas* -Light of the Seven -*Ramin: “Thank you..” -Intro theme (with choir) set to a montage of final episode that included Rains of Castamere and Dany’s theme reprise -In Memoriam of EVERY person who died set to “The Bear and the Maiden Fair”

Muffin, thanks for sharing! I didn't think his traveling orchestra only has 10 going with him. It's impressive he's doing this with local artists on the spot. Gotta say: seems like there were lots of Dany fans in you corner of the woods they cheered for her pretty loud.

Yes! I thought the cheers for Tyrion were loud and there were a few "QUEEN CERSEEEEEEE!!"
The loudest was for Hodor's appearance in the Memoriam. There was a collective "AAWWWWW" and Ramin would smile or laugh at all of these outbursts. They didn't seem to bother him.
Donal - You'd asked for pictures of my gardens once the flowers started blooming, and I haven't gotten any, yet, but I did take a picture of my first "bouquet" of spring flowers from the garden. This one has snapdragons, scabiosa, a columbine, freesias, (gawd, they smell sooooo good) and a rose.
Actually, I did get one nice picture of my orchid blooming, but forgot to upload it from the camera to the computer when I uploaded this picture.

The perspective doesn't do it justice because it is laid out facing the camera. Note my hands are shoulder width apart, the monster's tail extends into the river and it's head was bigger around than my thigh. That's a bona fide citation channel cat, easily 30" long and well over 12 pounds.
(My brother caught it. I am not at all jealous. Not a bit. No sir.)
