To prevent spoilers, one can feel free to put Catelyn Tully in a separate thread.

Since we don't have the luxury of her POV it occurs to me that there are some definite facts to be considered here:

I realized that she must assuredly know that Arya is not in King's Landing any longer, becuase Beric and Thoros encountered Arya. I imagine she must also realize that Arya is not with Sandor any longer either, although that may be less clear. Since Brienne knows something about Sandor's eventual disposition, which does not include Arya, it must be safe to assume that Lady Stoneheart does as well.

Is there any reason to think that she knows about were Sansa is at this point?

Just goes to show that you can still surprise even a book reader. She is also referred to as "UnCat".

This, I was thinking about this as well, what will they have them do? Particularly Brienne... Since Sansa'll be there a while longer and Cersei, Tywin, the Tyrells all of them surely despise her and want her out of KL?

ps. I also think that in order for LS to work as a character later with Brienne and Jaime it has to be kept in the mind of the viewers so I do think they will have her killing random Freys at some point.

My theory is that we won't see her as her first book appearance, killing a random Frey.
We will see her after the Brotherhood captures Brienne, she will matter a lot to her story.

I don't remember who came up with Un-Cat. Don't remember it from the books, either

Uhm, so not for another season or more? Brienne can't leave KL for at least another season. I doubt it, I think LS needs to be set up as this embodiment of vengeance that she is way before that, if only for a short scene or two.

But honestly, if Jaime arrives in KL in Ep.10 this season (as suggested by the preview), this creates a massive clusterfuck for him, Brienne, Sansa and Uncat, so I have no idea what they have in store for these characters. confuse

I don't believe there is a Jaime-chapter after the bear-pit scene until he arrives in KL. Of course if Gurm had written aSoS in aFfC/aDwD style, we would have had 5 chapters of that beautiful trip.

What do you think about Bran-travels? They're slogging their way to the Wall while in season 1 Jon, Benjen and Tyrion got there in 1 episode (ok, they had horses and not a crippled boy in a cartwheel, but still). The sense of scale in this show is already fucked, especially after Littlefinger and his flying carpet last season. I'm not going to bitch about it though, it's either this or endless travelogue.

I'd even say it'll be more difficult on account of Jaime being there - let's say they can have Brienne locked up or something (though not for a whole season, that would be silly), but in order for Jaime to keep his credibility, they can't explain him being there and doing nothing to fulfill his vow to Catelyn for a whole season, then giving the task to Brienne once Sansa disappears.

I don't envy the show writers, they had Brienne and Jaime on their way to KL since last season. So dispite the delays ghe characters encounter, they need to arrive there sometime. They have to since other characters like Littlefinger can get from KL to anywhere in the realm in a single episode.

I am not certain Jaime will be in KL in the last ep, we saw a single shot of him cut with a Tywin line, that might simply be an editing trick to pump up the audience.

My memory fails me, but what *did* Jaime do after they left the bear-pit in Harrenhal?

It is an editing trick, because Tywin is clearly talking to Tyrion in that clip, however that door behind Jaime doesn't look like it could be from an inn or something like that, it's way too posh. Plus he looks embarrassed. They *could* end their arc with another cliffhanger, them getting captured by the Brotherhood (though that may be tricky) for example, but I think that would be pointless and repetitive. Maybe D&D really want to get him to KL earlier in order for him to interact a bit with Joffrey, who knows. We'll see. But the Brotherhood definitely needs to make another apparance in ep. 10, to further their storyline in some way, so it seems like Uncat is a given.

Japie - I found that imagining that the storylines featured in an episode don't actually happen all at once (and that each has its own chronology) has really helped me cope with the show's fucked up scale.

Jamie is not in KL yet. I agree that it was an editing trick to throw off the book readers. We know that the brotherhood is going to be in ep.10 for sure. They are going to find the stark bodies. I am guessing that this may be the first scene of the episode. But I have been called a crackpot before...

I wonder if this pic and this pic are from the same scene, even though the lighting is different. We've yet to see that scene with Cersei on the show.

Anyway, concerning Uncat, I'm not sure what to think on the whole "Mhysa track that could be used for both" thing. Because it doesn't sound right to me, the tone is completely different. Now I wonder if they wouldn't push the resurrection to Ep. 1 of S4, but I kinda doubt it. The impact just wouldn't be the same, not with the episode being sent to critics in advance.

Macha, what makes you think Uncat is happening in this finale? We are only halfway through book 3, Uncat didn't appear till the final chapter of that book. Remember the brotherhood still needs to find her, recusitate her, start kidnapping and killing Freys.

I think it would work best to let her death sink in for a bit and then bring her back in the S4 finale, what is the point of killing a major character only to revive them the next episode? The audience will feel emotinally cheated.

Don, I don't know really, it's more of a fandom consensus at this point. Personally, I would be happy if it never happens, because it felt awfully cheesy when I read it. But since it will happen at some point, I think the Brotherhood could use an ending to their season arc, and that they could end the episode with her resurrection - it would be a much more powerful moment than "Mhysa", IMO, and would bring a bit of hope for vengeance after the RW. Her resurrection in the books happens a few days after the RW, so they could show that this season, and have her kill one of the Freys at the end of S4. They already have a lot of big moments for the end of S4; on the other hand, there's only Dany to sustain the last episode of S3.
Oooor they could just show the scene with no previous explanation, like in the books, at the end of S4 but that may be a bit too puzzling for casual viewers. I don't really care either way.

Fandom consensus? The same consensus that was convinced that Talisa was a Lannister spy? evileye

The same consensus that was certain the PW was happening this season? bleh

The same consensus that Coldhands was gonna appear 2 episodes ago? calmyotits

Yeaaaah no.

I would just want that scene to see Arya warg in Nymeria in her dreams. People need to get some Stark-awesomeness and hope before they have to wait another year.

It's corny or cheesy, but I always felt that her anger, thirst for revenge, dust in her heart are somehow, stronger than death, calling out for some sort of state of being (much like Melissandre) to enact the same. Hence, Brotherhood and Nymeria.

I admit, I was wrong about Jamie, I am happy he arrived sooner, as it made no sense for him to take this long to get there.

But I called Lady Stoneheart, she will pop up in next seasons finale, mark my words.

Have to wait a whole year for LS? A plague on your household, Martin! Well, mayhaps he had nothing to do with it, but it felt good to say/type in any case.

Guys, guys, come on. ZombieTalisa would lose all of ZombieCat's interaction with Brienne, and motivation to go after Jaime. Which would probably make her the most pointless character in the history of this series. After Jalabhar Xho.

And what's with the Michelle Fairley Curtain Call over at WIC? Missed that while I was gone, WTF? Is she in for next season or not? Will we have LS? What is the skinny on this, anyone?

I don't think there's anything to worry about, Michelle F. will definitely return for S4. If WiC wouldn't have done the curtain call it would have looked too suspicious for non-readers. It's just a trick, a shadow on the wall.

She would not have been so evasive and ambiguous in her responses if she was not returning

When i read the books, she pissed me off. It felt like such a cheat the resurrection at first. However, now we're with the tv show i really want her to be there? Particularly for J&B's arc. It wouldn't be the same without her. And if she IS there, I really want it to be shown that it's nymeria who rescues her. But I honestly fear she's been axed. :sulks in a corner:

It seems I read somewhere, possibly at WIC, there was an extra who had texted or tweeted or whatever, about GOT stuff after he had gotten done with his role.  He mentioned RV, he mentioned the Battle at the Wall, AND he mentioned Lady Stoneheart would be making some kind of "appearance" by the end of the season.  Now, at that point we could go to the source and read it, but a day later, it was gone, so someone had admonished him.  For what it's worth, he could have been full of shan, but it was nice to read.

I was told that from an "unreliable" source. I thought it was a joke, but you have just confirmed it basically. Thank you I cannot wait to see how they'll treat Lady Stoneheart. I like Tir was quite upset for a while about Martin bringing her back to life, but now I'm very curious what this will be treated like in the show.

I saw a cast interview where someone asked if they would want to bring any GoT character back to life, who would it be and Michelle Fairley for a second looked uncomfortable and Lena Headey gave her one of those quick glances before looking at the audience member. Also in another interview they were discussing her "contract" and you could see she went into that cautious statement approach. Just hopeful observation I guess.

There's this...
web.stagram.com/p/703820290286423499_352398842

And also now that they've officially kicked off Brienne & Pod I feel very confident about an LS reveal, along with Sansa's episode 1 statement about the river. My primary concern is that it doesn't come off as cheesy. The "only cat" scene right before that is a good idea from the community as D&D love their scene segues.

I actually really like LS in the books because Catelyn always took big risks in the books and this is now, in a way, punishment for that by being a shadow of her old self, but at the same time stronger because she has nothing left to lose. It's a character I feel is meant for something...perhaps not nearly as profound as other major characters but she's still around for a reason that has yet to be unveiled.

I have had a hunch, because what else would be the best way to end Brienne's arch this season? With Nible Dick?

We shall soon, I hope so.

One thing is that means next season will be all ADWD stuff for Bree and we might just see where she is luring Jaime towards after she shouted her word to Lady Stoneheart.
