Well, no one has mentioned snow ... you wouldn't have a joust in winter and we all said how pretty Highgarden was ... I don't think winter makes sense at all Tir ... sorry.
Also , I may have got this wrong , but isn't it always dark in winter too?
-- Edited by YvyB on Sunday 3rd of March 2013 11:41:03 AM
i don't think it's dark in winter at all, not this far south anyways. I'd say a winter this far south is pretty much like a normal winter say in france, daylightwise. In any case, it is mentioned several times that the last few winters were very mild, and we've never been further north than Lannisport I believe. I think it could make sense that no snow has been mentioned yet.
About Highgarden being in bloom and hosting a tourney, I purposefully mentioned that it had a special microclimate that allowed it to bloom except in the hardest of winters, which this isn't.
The thing is, if it is spring, we're already in the near or at the end of Robert's Rebellion, with all what that implies, if it is summer, we're around the time of the Greyjoy Rebellion. And there's several cannon events going on in the year of the false spring that we'd have to ackowledge somehow. (see here for highlights)
Could we please settle the date once and for all so that if I have to change the end of my storyline I know now?
Here are the dates of the known past seasons for comparison.

If we're in 280, it's most deffinitely winter. Which is important to Aesty's story, so can we please keep it?

I'll write something this evening, but because I'll need to cover a pretty big timeframe, I won't advance the story that much. For now Potty and Aesty are heading to KL via the Rose Road. BTW, which season is it?
-- Edited by Macha on Sunday 3rd of March 2013 06:59:46 AM
It's still the long summer I would suspect. Although I'm not sure when the last winter was. In any case, we're down the warmer climes.

@Yvy, no it's ok. We can set up a different date, one that suits everyone, I just want to know for sure to match up the events and suchlike.

It's 280. It's whatever season it is in 280. Highgarden has a microclimate. Despite the fact there are no mountains around. Of course, the weather in Westeros defies science.
But it's 280. We've already definitively established that. Definitively. No questions.
It is known.

- He is traveling by the Roseroad to Kingslanding and then North for the treasure. - Has studied the imprint well and now has a wax copy of the original map. - what a coinkidink , Potty and Aesy are on the same road and Stranger/ Shadow recognized some old friends!
- I added a little change where he calls himself "Waemar Rivers", he does not want to draw attention to himself.

Potty and Aesty are traveling on the Rose Road for now, but they need a second horse.
Potty then remembers the night before he helped Aesty escape from prison, and how he met Marya who had found her horse. She helped him find a way inside the castle and while Potty was waiting for the guard to change so that he could get in, she stayed with him. Potty saw her tattoo, which resembled the description for the map leading to the frozen dragon eggs beyond the Wall. Unfortunately, Potty couldn't remember much from her tattoo because they were too busy fucking like rabbits. There!
In the morning they parted and she left Babieca with Potty, confident that they will meet again. As the flashback finishes and the chapter ends, Potty and Aesty hear the sound of hooves on the road - rider to be determined .
Macha wrote: Whooops. Done. Marya has too many garments. I hope she left some with Potty.
but yes old man, you have her blue headscarf and the bloostained handkerchief. This happens to Marya for making ñacu-ñacu with retirees bunnies.

And I would like to make a strong point that for those of us who might happen to be passing down the Rose Road through the Kingswood, that the Kingswood Brotherhood band of outlaws is in existence at this time. Just sayin'.

Although not being nobles we might not have too much to worry about. Except Fede. Who really isn't that noble. Just comes from a noble house in a poor Dornish estate. I imagine most of our characters would be more likely to sympathize with these guys than be frightened of them.

“Fear is a strange soil. It grows obedience like corn, which grow in straight lines to make weeding easier. But sometimes it grows the potatoes of defiance, which flourish underground.”
Waemar bonded with Potty about their love for Dornish things and joined our group despite Aestylla's reticence. They both spill all the beans about the map and the tattoo, but they're too drunk to make the connection, and Aestylla heard it all but was too mad and distracted to put it together because Potty was describing his daliance with the Septa and she got very jealous. Aestylla's now given Babieca fully to Potty and she's got a new horse called Nugget. On the road Potty realized someone had stolen his money purse. It's raining and we're somewhere on the Rose Road.

Wonderful! But wait, I'm confused, do Waemar and Potty know they're both after the dragon eggs? And where do we stand on the map issue? Waemar has a part of it on paper, and Potty has the missing part in his head?
Waemar talks in his cups about the map he found for some treasure up north. Potty talks in his cups about the map he once had and he loosely describes the missing part and the owl tatoo without knowing they are connected. The dragon eggs might or might not have been mentioned, it's not stated, so it can go either way.
So in theory, they have all the raw data and any of them three could scoot out and go searching for the treasure/eggs, if they were able to figure out the owl riddle and piece together that it's connected to the map. But none of them is aware of this. Yet.
PS I still have maliti's pearl necklace.

The only relics in our group are an improvised map for some rumored dragon eggs Beyond the Wall and maybe Aestylla's dragonbone dagger, tho I'm not sure if that's important or not. Oh and Potty has a monkey relic that's got magical powers, but nobody (including me) knows what that does yet. Don, I'm writing next, will post shortly.
Update & Summary:
- Potty, Aestylla and Weimar were on Lord Malus Fossoway's lands when they get ambushed by him and his guards. Lord Fossoway is tall, extremely hairy and in his late 30s- early 40s. He's sly and clever. Of course, he's an invented character, but mind you, these are the Green Fossoways, not the Red. Their seat is at New Barrel (book canon), and this is where he invited Waemar and Potty to dine with him, after hearing they're heading for KL - or reconizing Waemar. Or both. Who knows what his plans are?
- Because she was still riding ahead of them, Aestylla was not there when they met Lord Fossoway, but Waemar and Potty took a chance and went along with him to New Barrell, hoping that she was watching them and that she'll keep herself safe for now. For the sake of our story, and because nothing is mentioned in the books, New Barrell is at most half a day's ride from the Roseroad, close to Bitterbridge (see this map here).

Ok just did a little post ... Sele went for a free ride and got more than she bargined for . Will this cause trouble down the line ? Why was the boat stopped anyway? Will Marya find out she's pregnant ? Will Fede find his Hare? Tune in next week to Tales of Westoros ...

Can someone make a list of all the relics/items that have been mentioned and where they are at the moment? This includes pearls, eggs, horses. Because I can't keep up. Federyco needs to start hunting something.
And where's that baby?

So the two chum blabbers get snatched and Aesty's scot free, sitting in a corner, enjoying the view, eating crakers

Now hang on just a second. Babieca is not stolen, Potty won it after a night of hard labor.
hard labor? you curvy little thing.

ok, Marya knows where Babieca is now but she still knows nothing about her white owl. She had some little bag with some relic but she can´t remember what was there? And yes, Aesty still has her pearl necklace, which really belongs to the white owl.
What more?
