I didn´t see the movies on the list but, thanks to Japie´s suggestion, I watched "Beasts of the Southern Wild", just now. here

When I watch movies I take notes because my memory is no good sometimes. I won´t say anything though. Whatever stupid thing I say will turn this wonderful, beautiful movie into crap. Just watch it.

And now I will not care for any other movie for a very long time.

Full list of nominees here.

I haven't seen most of these yet, but Emanuelle Riva has to win for Amour, she was splendid.

Who are you cheering for?

What andrea said. This is breathtaking. Best movie I've seen in a long time.

Gods be good! How come I haven't seen any of these movies yet? Most of them haven't even been released here... *grumbl grumbl*

And your comments about  "Beasts of the Southern Wild"  are quite mouthwatering. Looking out for that movie, and "Royal Affair" the most. Please get screened soon! pray

So I watch Life of Pi... when I can collect my thoughts I´ll write some stupid thing about it, but watch this movie people. It is consistent and beautiful from the start.

I´m late to Oscar rage right? it´s good not watch the movies before the Oscars because you don´t suffer. Tried to watch Les Miserables... completely impossible, couldn´t pass the first "dialogue" between Crowe and Wolverine. Where´s the melody? couldn´t hear it. I shouldn´t watch musicals, I know I don´t like them but this was even uncomfortable for me. Sorry, Maximus, still love you.

Saw ZDT a few days ago, didn´t love it but it´s a good movie, cold, great acting, great characters. This woman knows how to work with actors and she always has good scripts.

"Searching for Sugar Man"... won best documentary. Completely amazing story with amazing people, great great guy to meet. Emotional and beautiful. Cried like a baby here and there.  Fantastic music and wonderful lyrics. Some shots are so good and clever. Editing is a gem too.

Completely in love with.

I am going to stick my neck out and make a prediction for the 2014 Oscars.

I think Mathew McConaughey is going to win the best actor Oscar for Dallas Buyers Club.

1) The Academy loves actors who make comebacks. Sure McConaughey didn't exactly fall off the radar but he was stuck in the Rom-com genre for a good couple years.

2) The Academy love actors who transform there bodies for roles eg Bale for The Fighter, Theron for Monster and Hanks for Philadelphia.

3) McConaughey is one fire at the moment. Ever since The Lincoln Lawyer Mathew has been giving us oustanding performances, just look at Killer Joe, Magic Mike, Mud, The Wolf of Wall Street and of course Dallas Buyers Club.

I just have a real strong feeling they'll award McConaughey this year but I'd be more than happy to be wrong cause this year that category is stacked with great performaces.

I think he would be lucky if nominated at all, no love for him from the brits: www.imdb.com/oscars/nominations/baftas . Still need to see Mud, it's high on my list.

Only reason Mathew wasn't nominated for a BAFTA was because Dallas Buyers Club isn't released in the UK till February, so it missed the deadline.

Aha, kind of weird they didn't go for the earlier release. BAFTA's are usually an important indicator for the Oscars, they lose a lot of momentum with that move.
