Sam the Slayer! Good job D&D. Daario is yum. Wedding was perfect. Cersei's line with Margaery, nice. The three blood suckers, scary. Gendry Hoooortence get my fan, and my smelling salts . Soo-soo episode compared to others, but hey, I'll miss it when it's over .

I am so thrilled that the leeches were in. Along with "The Usurper" lines.

The older gentlemen was...NOT Coldhands?!
*wookie rage*
Also Sam, you dropped your knife.

Loved how they shifted the attention to the Tyrells when discussing Rains of Castamere. The RW should really come as a shocker now.

The last scene was very well done, the only gripe I could have about it is that non-readers will link the crows to the White Walkers instead of Coldhands (will we see him this season?). Daario sucked as I expected, just fucking kill him already. And I'm also talking about the actor. Terrible acting in that scene with Dany and Daario, it's obvious she needs a strong actor (or awesome CGI) beside her to cary those scenes. I love how they switch the budget to the WW and Dany's dragons were suddenly nowhere to be seen lol. The leach-scene was perfect.

The ravens are still there even after Sam the Slayer did his thing. I think Coldhands is still out there.

Great episode, focusing on less characters made the story leap forward...nudity... violence...oh my!
Here we saw two very smart show decisions, making Sam the Slayer a wonderfully heroic moment for Sam, and Gendry at Dragonstone did work out well in the end. The show took a different path, but still reached the wonderful same place.

Gonna watch it in HD now. Cuz...ugh...no ep for two weeks! Well, at least I get to see the RW on my BD. yippie

Oh and did ya notice the moment Stannis threw the leech in the fire and said "Joffrey", the next shot was Joff drinking a glass of wine....I SEE WHUT U DID THAR D & D!

Not this season though. Remember, there was no casting for CH. So they'll just have Sam find the entrance under the Nightfort by himself then, I imagine. Ugh, bummer.

Macha, I don't really think they need to declare casting for Coldhands. After all, it'll be just a voice actor anyway.

Voice actors usually get announced just the same, and if he gets cast then at some point his identity will be revealed. If they go by book description, his scarf only covers the lower part of his face, so they'll make a big deal out of his eyes, IMO. He'll have to act with those. It will be the same actor, I can wager anything. But to reduce costs, they could be saving him for S4, since Bran's got nothing to do all season anyway.

I can't see the point of the crows otherwise ...

I agree, I can legitimately see them not announcing Coldhands if he's only a voice actor. I don't think there's any GoT precedence for voice actors, is there? And remember, the face shouldn't make any difference, it could be anyone.

Yvy, you look drunk.

The crows are there to torture Mr. Macha, and for nothing else. That's his take and he's sticking to it.

Maybe the crows/ravens are there to establish a connection with Bran? Fuck me if I know. Thing is, the crows are already linked to a character other than Coldhands, so he doesn't really need to be there. I just find it really hard to believe they kept the casting secret. If the guy playing the WW gets credited (and we knew about him since the beginning of the season), it doesn't make sense for the actor playing Coldhands to beleft out, unless he's really an extra and you only see him from behind or something - what would be the point in that? It's silly. But for the record, I hope I'm wrong.

So... Mr. Tir just flippin' figured out the Red Wedding. Unbelievable!!!! And he was soo convinced Robb's demise would come up after taking Casterly Rock!

But the other day, we were on the car and he was talking about how sweet Arya's smile was at the end when she realized the Hound was gonna take her to the Robb at the twins... and his voice trailed off... and almost stopped the car in the middle of the highway and said "OMG! They're gonna go medieval banquet on Robb! Of course! I can't believe I almost let him pull the wool over my eyes! Now everything makes sense!" He told me how Frey will kill them all (except maybe a few tullys, "one of the new lads has to make it at least") and Arya will arrive too late, and see everyone slaughtered. I laughed and gave my usual criptic reply but i can see now he's totally convinced, he said he's willing to bet money on it. Because "when you think about it it's the only outcome that makes sense. There was NO buildup in this episode. And the main event has always been on episode 9. If that was Casterly Rock, there would have been some buildup this episode. Besides, Frey's been letting such a huge slight go so easy? Don't think so. Getting a second hand marriage and giving him his men instead? And Catelyn has been warning us about him all along! And it's the classic medieval trick, 'come to the feast and we'll sign a peace treaty' and everyone gets slaughtered. No... they wanted us to think it's a stepping stone to the battle, only, there'll be no battle! There's no time. They'll trip in the stone. Everybody's been dropping casually 'We're going to the twins'. Even Bolton's going there. To betray them. He's got all the army, and the contacts, and was managing the ravens for Robb. He's in it."

I was astonished. Wow. He also thinks now that if it's not Bolton's son, it might be a Frey who's holding Theon, though he doesn't know for what purpose.

Tir has demonstrated why it's a mistake to take a week off. Not everyone is as sharp as Mr. Tir, but now they've got another week to puzzle it out.

I am impressed Tir! If I were you I would probably not have had such a good poker face.

If I had not read the books I probably have a bad feeling about the Frey wedding, expecting probably some kind of retaliation, but the entire slaughter of the Northern forces including Robb and Cat? No, not that.

Despite all the issues with the Robb storyline, I like Cat and Robb and it will still be a major bummer. I am really anxious to see how the non-book fans will react afterwards.

I tried! Don't know how much I succeeded. I console myself with the fact that in the books you also see it coming, and that doesn't lessen the impact. We'll see when it happens. Can't wait.

I don't think it'll lessen the impact, Tir. What he loses in terms of shock value he gains in being able to pay more attention at how the event is staged, the little details etc. Just like a book reader on a re-read.
