I can´t classify this show, not that I need to anyway. It´s terrifying and hilarious at the same time. The pilot is probably one of the best I watched. The cinematography is impecable, bright, saturated colors. Great shots. Very pretty to the point of being counterproductive (wut is this word by the way?). First scene of the pilot is excellent.
The plot is very complicated, you need to pay attention but if you like this kind of show you´d get sucked in very quickly.
Neil Maskell (Arby) is so good. Oliver Woolford, (Grant, the kid), is also great. Some characters could be annoying (looking at you Becky or Ian) or awkward (Jessica Hyde) but it´s part of the whole thing and it seems they have way more to give. We´ll see. Just 3 episodes for now. Perfect pilot, and two great episodes.
For now we´re only two watching this. Japie, your turn if you wish.

I feel obliged to post here. This show fucking rocks, and I would never have heard of if not for Andi. This show reminds me of Rubicon, Twin Peaks and I don't know. There are a couple of current shows that I absolutely adore (Justified, Breaking Bad, Treme, Mad Men) and there are shows I watch because I like them (Game of Thrones, Southland, Walking Dead, Boardwalk Empire). This one has flown right to the top of the chart, it's just perfect television and I can't explain why it's so good. You simply have to watch it, or Arby's coming to get you.
So, episode 4 and I have the same problem with accents as in Ripper Street. And this is definitely no good with this show so I´ll watch again with subtitles to see what I missed... BUT I don´t know if it was this episode or what but the shots were soooo pretty, like Tumblr pretty, that it seemed "too" composed... I mean, every goddam shot.
Is it me or Arby is the kid from the comic? btw, really good drawings there. I pooped a bit but good. And Arby is not Arby anymore but Pietri? He will be Arby for me forever. Pietri is just not scary.
Lol,yeah, kiss me while I´m pointing my gun at your head. Who doesn´t want that? It´s S. Valentine people, be original. Really nice Jessica´s weirdo.
Waiting for episode 5: Arby and Jessica Hyde together.

Oh my the little girl, she is fantastic. Where did they find her? Shooting people, freaking out, glazing stares, wonderful stuff. I don't know what Becky is up to, that bitch. Only 2 more episodes, is this a miniseries or will there be season 2?

siblings!!! crazy crazy siblings!!! Arby´s face when he´s eating with Jessica at that dinner... the happiness? lol. "I´m a fan" "it might be some noises"... he´s such a polite psycho. The way he walks cracks me up.
So, Becky will be a plant? yay? And Wilson a Harakiri? I think he was bad at it. I mean, no harakiri.
The politics of it all... the youngs won´t pay for the older ones... scary shit. And Michael? wtf???
Just 1 episode left? So the plot has a strange way to unfold... sometimes too much together, sometimes very little. But it is on purpose. Why?

Episode 5 was perfect, it actually ruined the Justified episode afterwards for me because I was so bloody giddy about it and I was trying to connect the dots. So Becky isn't a bitch? What the hell am I supposed to think now? All I wanted is Grant to run away! The scenes between Arby and Jessica are so perfect, I will watch this show again and again. Never had this feeling about a British show since Life on Mars.

aw Grant! that poor girl can´t stop suffering. No Becky is not a bitch but she´s annoying as hell.

Jap... the drawings were awesome! I change Spanish ham for manuscript.
So Becky is a hero. Who knew. She´s still annoying tho.
"Little Mary Miracle"... poor girl. She got a decent dad at least.
This piece of humor... I loved it so much... Anya was a CONTROL agent??? Was she Agent 99? TROLOLOL
Grant, mah baby... that was amazing. You saw his little face? How he played the fear and the sadness when Little Mary Miracle went away with his new dad. That scene where they hugg each other... they looked so small and endearing being the tough cookies they really are.
So fucking Mr Rabbit had to be a woman. Ok.
One little question... WHUR´S MAH ARBY???????

I loved this episode, but every second I was like:
ARBY, ARBY, ARBY, ARBY, ARBY WHERE THE FUCK IS ARBY.
I don't think it was the strongest episode, maybe mr Rabbit was a bit farfetched indeed, as was the blood-thing. I am going to need to rewatch all of it to let it all sink in, it was quite a ride. But yes, Grant, bloody awesome. Love those kids!

Watched!!! Surprising first episode. Was worried for 10 seconds then I thought it was great, ballsy move to start like that. This is an interview with Munden (director), very interesting. Rose Leslie was good but just playing what she´s playing, I don`t think she can do the same as the others. She seems always too tense to me.
Who the fuck is Christos? someone remind me please?
Then watched episode 2 Ugh, I enjoyed it very much, just watching Arby was a pleasure. The scene with the kid And the music every time Arby shows up, god,
And then all came, one after the other, very nice to see them all, annoying as Becky and Ian are, I didn´t cur. The way Becky treats him makes me laugh. She´s, idk, I have no words for that girl. Actress is great. And then Michael and Lee (without spoon this time)!
Again, the cinematography is awesome, some shots are so perfect. The contrast between all the imperfect (and terrible) people and the all too perfect nature. The script, the dialogues, the acting. All in its place for now. Loving it.
So, we´re harvesting the rich. Anyone?

I'm recording them all first for a binge watch later, I re-watched the first series and was surprised how much of it I'd forgotten in a year. I remember a reference to Christos in it but no more than that.

Goddamnit this show is the best thing since the invention of sliced bread. How come we are the only ones watching this??? That first episode was amazing, I love me some retro flashbacks.
Andi: Christos is mentioned quite a few times, he is Jessica's savior and mentor. When she is 10 he gets tortured and killed by a 15-year old Pietre. When Pietre and Jessica are looking for the manuscript together in season 1 Pietre brings her to the tree where Christos was tortured and killed, and tells her he wants her to know she was loved by someone, because Christos was willing to die for her. Arby explaining his reasoning to bring her there was one the 683 highlights in season 1.

you do realize this is the company that hired D&D right?
D & D use to be talented before their egos inflated. Fortunately Fincher is still the humble prick who insists on taking 12,000 shots for a single scene.
I still give them the benefit of the doubt because Fincher, but it's just utterly retarded that a show with such amazing production values, a hugely talented cast, great direction and topnotch storytelling in the same language gets a fucking remake.
Ye guys finally talked me into it and binged the 2 seasons.
Loved it, save for the bits of failed comedy with Ian. But all the Arby goodiness makes up for it.
The finale felt like a small bit of a copout though, felt like they were gonna finish it for good in two seasons and last minute decided to extend it due to popularity. Curious where they'll take the story from there and if it'll keep its freshness.

They still are. You can't imagine that delivering a show with such high production valueas and CGI and a consistently good cast is easy? You might think they're bad at adapting, and that's your opinion but they're definitely good at their job
