Really, 4 seasons? I remember him saying he was only aiming for two. Now Bryan Fuller's very creative and everything, but I can't see a way for them to end the season without imprisoning Hannibal, with the preview for the finale already hinting at the confrontation between Hannibal and Will. I expect that next season Crawford will go after the "The Tooth Fairy", and he'll get Will to consult Hannibal (who should already be in prison).
looool, talking about believability...you´ll go nuts Don. But you know I think Fuller doesn´t give a damn about plausibility/verisimilitude (don´t know which one you use) and I kinda like that and sometimes is just plain funny, like in this episode. "I can see you now" wtf
But Will´s vomit... bitch! you sick sick bastard. Aaaaand he made Scully eat

Nooooo it ended, waaaaaaaaahhhh! First, I disliked this episode right until the very last scene, which completely sold it. Brilliant! When I heard Vide Cor Meum as he enters the prison I wanted to scream, it was SO good! I see what you did there, Bryan. Second, I was a bit disappointed there wasn't any real "Eurika!" moment, I was sure Will would make the connection when he was in Hannibal's office because I remembered there was a black stag statuette somewhere. Oh well, the scene in Minnesota worked too. It was the first time when I thought Hannibal really looked dangerous. But they just had to stick Crawford in that scene, and ruin half of it. Because Laurence Fishburne was terrible throughout the season. Stiff, wooden, and just plain bad, with a personal storyline that led nowhere. Badly written, even more badly portrayed.

you ! shit how come I never listen!!! it´s like music can´t go through my skull sometimes I was just mesmerized with expression. "Mira mi corazón" that´s Alighieri! "Después la despertaba, y de este corazón ardiendo ella espantada humildemente comía..." lol. I guess the song (aria) was in one of the movies too right? oooh ugh the one with Gianini and his "delicious" wife? fucking memory.

I liked the finale, it had a wondefully twisted opening and the middle when Will's friends and colleauges react felt genuine.
Hannibal is truly a sadistic manipulator that loves playing his sick little game, and I enjoy watching him do so.
So I guess it's a given that the show will not follow the book and I wonder how it will get Will from this situation till where he needs to be at the end of "Red Dragon".

Yes, yes yes it's from La Vita Nuova, God how I love it. I have it here somewhere, wonderful translation too. Vide Cor Meum was featured in Hannibal, when he meets Giancarlo Gianini at the Opera with his wife Allegra, and he reads her Dante's sonnet. Hat's off to Fuller, I still can't believe he managed to squeeze it in.
So, does Scully know, or does she only suspect and she doesn't care?

Wow what a show. Call me crazy but I honestly find Mads' Lector just as interesting and sinister as Sir Anthony's and Brian Cox's versions.
My faith in network tv has been restored a little, I wish other networks would push the watershed boundaries like they did in Hannibal, they could air that show on cable and it wouldn't feel out of place.
Also what the hell happened to Scully? she's now being a mentor to serial killers now, Mulder would not approve!
I must say I was shocked the kissed by fire reporter survived this season, I thought for sure she'd get on Lector's bad side one day.
I swear I read at some point Freddie Lounds would bite it this season. I would say I even saw a pic but then you'd think I'm crazy. But if she gets an even cooler death scene than Phillip Seymour-Hoffman had in Red Dragon, I'll be more than thrilled.
"Just as sinister"? I'd make that "even more sinister".

So what do we think? From what it seems Hannibal gets found out. Maybe it will end with him behind bars and then we start the tooth fairy story in season 3?

Tell me, because I never ate sea urchin... it looks like tongue? because that was tongue curry to me. Lol this man. I like how Fuller makes horror funny. Clever, I guess that way he can have this show on this channel. And I want to buy a flounder (or sole fish?) as shinny as the one he was cutting. YUM.
It´s disturbing! all the food and the meat and death, but I love it. Talking about, that scene where Hannibal is pushing the ear inside the tube. Sick!
I probably said this already, I don`t enjoy luxurious or exhuberant filming that much but this guy left me really impressed with some shots. The scene in the woods with Will flyfishing and the deer and some others I don`t remember right now... wow, the cinematography.
I wonder what is all about with the black everywhere now. Like shadows? idk. Makes me laugh.
And the oriental forensic lady will turn into oriental forensic stew. Don´t be so smart.
That final shot? lordy, very disturbing eye. I didn´t read the books so maybe someone could tell me something about that?

I never read the book Red Dragon, but the whole "Will Graham goes to jail" bit was invented for the show, yes?
So the way Hannibal gets found out, they seemed to have replaced Graham with Crawford. Seems how it would work IMHO.
So what is up with Doctor Chiltern? Last time I saw him he was gutted with his organs laying outside of his body , seems the only thing he was left with was "being careful with my salt intake" lolwut?
Oh who am I kidding, I am all aboard'

I's funny how I started disliking this show and now I am completely in love with it. The cinematography is fabulous, the food is incredible and even though the special effects might seem low-budget sometimes, they're very beautiful.
Yep Don, you hit the jackpot, it seems like they might be replacing Will with Crawford. The part about Will going to jail was invented for the show, yes. I read the book ages ago but I don't think that Graham's backstory with Hannibal was too detailed, so they have some room to maneuver.
@maliti - Yep, still think Fishburn needs to go, to me he's the weakest actor there. But I doubt they'll do it, since Crawford is pretty much alive for Silence of The Lambs. Oh well. Can't have everything.
hahahahahaa this guy! he keptthe leg to make brased osobuco while playing Beethoven´s 9th Symphony. I thought he would cook a puchero... I could have died laughing. omfg I cook osobuco that way!!! I will nevuuuuur forget this. Hilarious.
Get a grip you stupid fishburne! she´s telling youuuuuuuuuuuu. I`m having so much fun with this show it kinda makes me feel ashamed of myself.
Bedelia du Morier is Scully´s name? why this name makes laugh so much?
Ok, the beginning of the episode was . God, this sick sick show.

I´m amazed how manly he looks when he zip up his fly , no really. So many goodies in this episode. His face when lawyer is talking... about him! he´s enjoying it too much, the sick bastard. and wut about that white and red tie? it had... paradise birds or wut?
Liked the lawyer, such a stereotype (sowy Basi). "I think I opened your mail" (because ear). For a moment I thought it was Scully´s ear!
At first I thought he was trying to be honest with Will but after the trial that went to hell apparently. Is just like with Jodie Foster´s character I guess. Sick love.
Lol? wut´s with Freddy? wut she´s playing at? that was a weird and quick.
Ugh, they do know how to make you . The ear cutting
Please man, just eat Chilton once and for all! he´s so easy to hate.

I love the game Hannibal is playing, is he just bored and likes to play? And what DID happen to Skully?
Did I read it wrong and did he already kill her?

You know, at first I thought he knew all along the judge wouldn't buy his testimony and that he did it specifically to mess with Will's defense. But then I saw the judge and...wow. I really don't understand. Does he want Will in jail or not? I honestly don't understand where is Fuller going with this dynamic but what the heck, I'm enjoying it too much to let that bother me.
Neah, I don't think anything points to him killing Scully. We still need to find out what happened between them, plus I don't think I'd like it if he would just go around killing everyone who thinks he's not what he seems.
Also, if they're sticking to canon, they won't be killing Chilton. Or Freddie, not until they do Red Dragon at least.
Didn't think it was possible, but this last episode gave me nightmares. Last night I dreamed I was running around like a headless chicken in Hannibal's basement and it was not kinky at all, ffs.
no kidding. It turns out that Mrs Crawford do have a *friend* with Jesus powers. Goddammit that man´s wickedness!!! To watch her die and wait just the right time to resuscitate her.
So humans can hear the ejaculation of the dronebee ey? , lol Crawford´s nerds are great. But the hive murders... wut´s the point? just to make Beverly realize that Hannibal is the killer? Nevermind, she will be chinese take out in next episode.
Chilton you stupid stupid cow... you no good for Hannibal´s dinner table.

Now is he gonna make sushi or stir fried rice of her? LOL sorry couldn't help it.
Why did he let Crawfords wife live? So she could suffer a painful death, or so Crawford could have her longer? It's Hannibal, so I suppose he didn't do the charitable thing.
That bee crime scene was up there with the mushroom, this show is both beautiful, gruesome and clever with it's crime scenes, they seem more like art installations.

well, first obviously because he´s a twisted bastard (we all love) and he enjoyed the power he had over her life and death but maybe also because he needs Crawford in one piece to help him prove that Will is not the killer... but Hannibal is so so disturb that I can´t be sure if he wants Will out. In any case Hannibal wants Will to know how brilliant he is. Who knows.
But, twisted bastard.
Yes, what you said, art installations.

Yeah, I think we're supposed to wonder about that. Obviously what he told her was a lie, that he couldn't do it. He could have done it just fine, and I think he admired her for choosing death. He doesn't wish for her to suffer, why would he? She has done nothing to him. I don't necessarily think it was about doing Crawford a favor either, I don't think he cares about him that much or that he really needs him.
Personally, I think it all comes down to his God complex. I don't think he sees himself as a bringer of death (I loved the symbolism with the coin), but as someone who chooses. And he can choose to give life, just like he did in S1 with whatshisface, the one with the open heart massage. I think him being a surgeon was also about that, having life in your hands and the power that comes with it. I think death is just a consequence for him, not his main purpose.
