Apparently, Tyrion will live out his days on a beach of bug carcasses. I still don't think for a moment that GRRM will kill Tyrion, but I don't know what that means for him. I'm a little surprised Tywin was so quick to announce Tyrion's fate. I'm wondering whether Tywin will find a way to spare Tyrion and reinstate the deal he made with Jaime. But there are some other possibilities. Margaery could use her (presumably) growing influence over Tommen to convince him to spare Tyrion. If they had shown her at the duel as they did at the trial, I would find it more likely, but since they didn't feel her reaction to Oberyn's loss was important, I doubt that will happen. Someone could pull a Davos and throw Tyrion in a boat. I'm having a hard time imagining Varys being that person, but it's possible he has uses for Tyrion in Essos. And of course you should never count out Jaime taking action and getting Tyrion to safety. So there are many ways Tyrion could survive, and I fully expect him to.
Final episode of season 4 is tomorrow! And I'm wondering about the exhilarating final scene that will end the season. I think we're going way the hell up north, where Bran is going to make a mind-boggling discovery. But what will that be? My guesses: a battleship-sized snowblower/chipper/mulcher; a hatch in the ground that leads to a DHARMA facility; or a frozen alien that comes back to life once he defrosts it. Anyone else?
HAHAHAHHA @ Basi with book 6 spoiler! Almost snorted coffee through the nose.
I think the surprise should totally be Drogon roaming to the Wall and melt it to the ground! And Jon marrying Tormund. Forbidden love should win the day.
