I think they want to give Indira Varma and the Sand Snakes more of a focus, which is lame at the expense of such a great character and her relationship with Doran.
It's possible that GRRM has planned for Aegon to die fairly quickly Al in TWOW, and therefore D&D won't bother. If all Arianne does is go to Aegon than die as well, than I guess that can be explanation for her being cut. But I still don't think she's cut.

If they cut Arianne I have a feeling Aegon might be cut as well.
Are you thinking grey scale is going to wipe out Aegon's conquest Cosca?

I think
Spoiler
JonCon's grey scale is Martin's balance for the Meereen plague. In fact he might unleash it from the North with Shireen's dormant grey scale. I know everyone thinks it is cured, but for some reason Val's reaction when she sees it makes me think it might not be so.
Still holding on to the hope Arienne is cast. I like her, what can I say.
Arianne is GRRM's best new character from AFFC and ADWD (alongside Doran) in my opinion.
Victarion is a dumb brute (his chapters are fun but he's not much of a character), Euron is a classic pirate villain (which is rather shallow in terms of character), Aeron is the most boring thing I've ever read, Areo is a glorified camera, Griff is annoying, Young Griff is a dick, the Meereen characters have infuriating names, the Sand Snakes are all talk, Brynden is a tree and Leaf is a hobbit. Arianne and Doran reign supreme for actually being relatable, interesting characters.
At least we're getting Doran (don't notch him D&D!).

@Angie: that's if you ever see this I didn't even notice your pick for Arienne! BUT.. My God! Janina Gavankar totally nails the look IMO. @Al: Rutger Hauer?! and yes,
Spoiler
it looks like the whole North plot will be nonexistent. If LS is not there to kill Freys, why would Manderly be?

I guess we need to put up a warning for the non-book folks.
About the casting, i think there are still announcements to be made, they cast Doran yet? I doubt he's cut, so let's wait.

I thought that Doran is in the process of being cast, actually.
