Who do you think will get the honor of being Samwell's proud father ?
I know he's maybe a tiny bit old for the role but I would love to see Brian Cox play Randyll. I could picture Brian as being the sort of person who would disown Sam.

Al, you are pretty good at this. He does look the part, but hell, we don't even know if we will see him. Though they did mention him on the show by name, and if they mention you by name in a previous season, odds are good they will appear later in some form.

Can someone remind me what he actually does in the books that's significant - I'm struggling to recall a single standout scene :O
He goes all bitchy mode with Brienne aaaaaand......that's about it. He could be important in the last books if the Tyrells take up arms against someone, other than that...
boohoo, Randyll lost his champion. Brian Cox is too good for this role, imo.

Al, I agree. When they drop specific names on the show, repeatedly, they do it for a reason.
To think of it, Randyll played a role in Brienne's storyline, so they might expand that a bit as a modification of her arc. If they do, adding a named actor makes sense.

I would like him for the role Al, but he's now in Showtime's Penny Dreadful, isn't he? If it gets picked for another season I don't think we'll be seeing him as Randyll Tarly in Season 5 (when I assume the character is getting cast)
There's no "may" about it, Al. I havemixed up my thespians. Not the names really, but the image. Simply thought I'm seeing Brian Cox for a split second there in the first trailer of Penny Dreadful. Let's put it on the after effects of last night's wine, shall we?
