Hmmmm, the cast is so massive lemme give this a go:
Best: 1. Michelle Fairley killed it in her final scene, I will truly be surprised if she didn't get nominated for anything this year! 2. Charles Dance owns every scene he is in as Tywin, his gravitas is amazing. 3. Nicolaj Coster Waldau, did the impossible making an arrogant prick into a reluctant anti-hero, he truly stepped up tl the plate and nailed it 4. Diana Rigg owns as the Queen of thorns that will take no sass, or lack of cheese!
Honorable mention: Christian Nairn, the man only has one line and can create the entire gamut of emotions with it, that impresses me
Good:
1. Natalie Dormer was a surprise breakout this season, playing the anti-Cersei, a woman just as ambitious that uses "sugar and spice and everything nice" to reach her goals 2. Iwan Rheon, the new kid on the block started as a convincing cypher and then one of the most fun new villains on the show! 3. Rose Leslie's amazing voice and eyes make her a treat, her final scene with Jon is all in the eyes and she impresses 4. Paul Kaye took the dry Thoros of the books and made him an instantly engaging presence.
Dissapointing:
Ciarán Hinds, while I think the issue has more to do with writing and limited screentime, Tv Mance is kinda bland and dry and not the charismatic leader that could unite all wildling tribes

Now that season 3 is over, let's rank acting performances for season 3. Maybe on a scale from 1 to 10? Grouped into The Good, The Bad and the Ugly? Whatever works best for you.
My fave : Dormer (she rocks ...)/ Farley (mum's crush)/ Dance (as always) / Riggs/ NCW (so many skills....)/ Maisie (cutie, i still want one for christmas)/ Thoros/ Christie
Good ones : Dinklage / little orphan shireen/ Missandei Daniel/ Alfie and Rheon.
Bad ones : not really, even Dany , because i'm french and in France, the lack of talent in acting is such an art that foreign performances usually look good to me.

Ranking is a pain to me, because I can never decide who I like more, but here goes a totally random ranking system. Many (like Maisie or Sophie) are missing, simply because I'm mostly indifferent to them in the show which makes it double hard for me to place them.
The Very Good Verging on Perfection: Liam Cunningham, Michelle Fairley, NCW, John Bradley, David Bradley, Iwan Rheon.
The Good: Lena, The Dink, Charles Dance, Paul Kaye (Thoros), Richard Dormer(Beric), Rory McCann, Conleth Hill, Diana Rigg, Tormund (sorry, name?), Alfie.
The Surprisingly Good: Natalie Dormer, Sibel Kekilli, Rose Leslie and Kit Harrington as a whole, and HODOR!
The Surprisingly Absent: Kate Dickie (Lysa). Can someone please bring this gem of a woman back?
The Better Luck Next Season: Ciaran Hinds, Iain Glenn, Anton Lesser (Qyburn).
The Bad: Emilia Clarke, Isaac (I'm sorry, I love you! I really do. Blame it on the voice changing and the weak script. See ya next season, kiddo.)
The Ugly: Ed Skrein (Daario).
Special Clint Eastwood Dirty Harry Award goes to Clive "Better than Edmure* Russell.
Special Clint Eastwood Facial Expression Award goes to Edmure "Can't Catch a Break" Tully.
Special S3 -to -Meme Award goes to Stephen "Nailed it" Dillane.
Special Flash Acting Award - Iain Glenn for his 2 seconds speechless bit in Ep.9
Special No Reason Award goes to Kerry Ingram (Shireen), future queen of everything.
*EDIT: I forgot, Jack Gleeson should also be up there on top. Fantastic guy.

Walder Frey-Bradley, a gem. All the rest are great too or good of course, but that man stole the Red Wedding and that´s a lot to say.
Bad: Danny and the whistler.

All about Michelle Fairley right now. Her S1 was great, the script for S2 and S3 are not book Cat to me. However, that being said, her sitting at the window and saying she'd never see her boys again and of course the RW, give her the Emmy, please

Aaaah shit, I always forget people. She's belongs up there in The Good, because of her great chemistry with NCW, but she's a little lower than everybody else there. I've yet to see her chewing a meaty monologue, or something like that, you know? I'd like to be able to judge her on her own. But I have my hopes for next season.

oooooh I love this thread! Gotta give it some thought.
Not even a mention for gwen, macha?

Gwen was much improved over last season, tho in season 3 her role was mostly reactionary towards Jaime. I do look forward for her to have her own adventure now.

It just hit me - I completely forgot to add Noah Taylor's Locke to the "Pure Perfection" category. And if I didn't create that category before, it exists now, just for his scenes in Ep. 3. "And your daddy ain't here...This should help you remember - SWOOSH!" + "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGHHHHH!!!" + *troll music* = best combo of the season.
Michelle Fairley (Catelyn), Charles Dance (Tywin), Stephen Dillane (Stannis), David Bradley (Walder Frey), Michael McElhatton (Roose), Iwan Rheon (Ramsay),
OUTSTANDING
Clive Russell (The Blackfish), Noah Taylor (Locke), Paul Kaye (Thoros), Conleth Hill (Varys), Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Jojen), Tobias Menzies (Edmure), Mackenzie Crook (Orell), Natalie Dormer (Margaery), Gwendoline Christie (Brienne), Liam Cunningham (Davos), Kerry Ingram (Shireen),Rory McCan (Sandor), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jamie), Jack Gleeson (Joffrey), Sophie Turner (Sansa), Iain Glen (Ser Jorah),
TIP TOP
Kristofer Hivju (Tormund), Richard Dormer (Beric), Maisie Williams (Arya), Rose Leslie (Ygritte) Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran), James Cosmo (Lord Commander), Lena Heady (Cersei), Peter Dinklage (Tyrion), Alfie Allen (Theon), Natalia Tena (Osha), Patrick Malahide (Balon), Kit Harington (Jon),
GOOD JOB!
Jerome Flynn (Bronn), Carice van Houten (Melisandre), Jon Bradley (Sam), Silbel Kekilli (Shae), Gemma Whelan (Yara), Kristian Nairn (Hodor), Richard Madden (Robb),
GOOD SO FAR, BUT DON'T FEEL I'VE SEEN ENOUGH TO SAY
Philip McGinley (Anguy), Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm), Natalie Emmanuel (Missandei), Alexandra Dowling (Roslin), Ben Hawkey (Hot Pie), Esmé Bianco (Ros)
Aidan Gillen (Littlefinger), Julian Glover (Pycelle), Hannah Murray (Gilly), Finn Jones (Loras), Oona Chaplin (Talisa), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys),
LAUGHABLY BAD
Ed Skrein (Daario)
Yes! Daario gets a category all for himself. However, given how much I loathed the character in the books, I kind of like how bad he is. It fits!

Another "short but sweet", Kerry Ingram as Shireen. She completely stole my heart in her appearance and her kindness towards Davos just made me smile.
I know I know oh oh oh. It's a pity Shireen never had any scenes with Gendry those would have been great.
Hear, hear! Kerry Ingram has mad acting skills for a young lady. I try to watch her and not bawl like a baby, and every time, jeez.

@Tir - Whoops, I think I forgot Michael McElhatton, I'm such a dafty. You're right, he was purrrfect. But only Good Job for Hodor?? His Hodors were outstanding throughout the season!
People like Clive Mantle's Blackfish ?? I kinda agree with the Sex Gods Elio and Linda that he's a bit thuggish.
Not having read the books, I have no idea what he's "supposed" to be like. But I like him just fine. He's pretty heavy-handed, but I don't have a problem with that. We can't all be about finesse.

He's hot for an old guy

I do like D&D's version of the Blackfish, but aside from that, I think the actor did a fantastic job with his scenes. He's made himself really memorable in that "larger than life" kinda way. His thuggishness is embeded in the script, the actor has no say in that, and what he was asked to do he conveyed it beautifully, imo.

I hated Edmure in the books and I love Menzies in the show... so fun. And I did love the Blackfish in the books, reminded me of my dad and all that and he´s a bit of a thug in the show yes but I love that too because he´s just the perfect contrast for Edmure. I wonder what BB is thinking about this.

See I dont see him as Brutus. He was exceptional in Rome, but he is such a great actor that he is not Brutus playing Edmure. He is Edmure. The same can be said about mme watching Omar in The Wire. I know him as Chalky White (since I watched BE first), yet I not once thought of Omar as Chalky because the acting is so good.

What is it about Sallador? I can't NOT be happy in a scene with him. He makes me laugh every time. "I was in your wedding. I was in four of yours"
