Well, I've only seen the two most recent ones, and remember watching the show looong time ago with my dad (the one with Patrick Stewart). And it was the two recent ones that got me into it. So boo to them.

Watched Into Darkness again on Blu Ray today and I am still baffled as to why those Trekkies hate it.

Star Wars Episode VII is in safe hands.

I wanted to buy the new BluRay but I hear Paramount totally botched the extras on it.

 I haven't checked the extras on my copy yet but I did briefly skim through the menu and saw about four of five mini docs about certain scenes. I take it you need to buy the 3D version for all the extras?

Nope, some extras are exclusive to certain retailers and the commentary track is exclusive to iTunes. What a mess!
While I am sure there might be a "special edition" around the Holidays with ALL extras in one place, it's still messed up.
