Many of my friends ragged on me to check out the series, I finally jumped in last month.
The first season was ok, it had funny moments but didn't blow me away, BUT the second season really kicked things off with just delicious lunacy, I am a fan.
Just started season 3 and I wonder what I will make of the 6 year gap between that and season 4.

The show really ended well at the 3rd season. The fourth season is really weak, especially if you watched the original show back to back.
The structure is bizarre, in this season they focus on an individual character each episode, which doesnt work well at all.
The original run had all the characters interact a lot more and their interplay was what made it work, so far the only episode I liked in S4 was the Gob episode.

agreed in every point. What worked was the interplay, having the characters split lost most of the fun, the story was too convoluted, and ending the season with a heavy dose of the most boring character (george michael), to quote Gob, "was a big mistake".

I thought the same thing as soon as Portia appeared on screen, she's had way too much work done.
Season 4 just felt off, there was moments of genius here and there but the way they structured it really hurt the show IMO. I liked the episodes with Gob, Tobias and Buster.
