Now my memory might be fuzzy, but the "virile Maester Pycelle" is a show invention, yes? I don't remember it from the books, I don't remember it being implied.
While I don't mind it, Pycelle *is* supposed to be VERY old, and even if he were faking, it would seem to be stretch for him to perk up *that* much.
Still, cool scene.
edit: so they advertising the Blu-rays already? I feel they are actually done FAR sooner than their lame Feb. 2014 release date implies.

Oh, this is the scene they showed at ComicCon, right? Completely loved it. I think one of the show's strengths are precisely these quiet scenes that were never even hinted at in the books. As for Pycelle's 'virility', he *is* found naked with a woman in the books when they cut out his beard, so I don't see it as a show invention. I think they're just showing more of it to build up his character, and because hey, it's HBO. And also because it's pretty hilarious.
