After much research we seem to have found a solution to moving our forum, we found a new hosting site.

What the new hosting site will do is look over our data and see if they create a forum for us that will have identical content, features but with much improved stability, customer service and mobile features.

I will update this thread as I complete each step in this process.

Cary, since people are asking what they can do to help with the new forum, can you give us some guidelines?
For example I'll work on this weekend on re-arranging the threads where they belong. What else is there to do? Should we work on editing our broken hyperlinks, for example?

made some moves with basi yesterday but I´m sure it needs more. Too many threads, some are the same (maybe some old Wildseed threads) and sometimes is not easy to decide where to put itwink

My understanding is that we're using Cary's website as a temporary place for the forum while we get all of the old posts into phpBB format. And then we'll be able to easily move it to a new host and launch it as our new and improved forum. Is that correct? And will we be able to get the data for the post-September 12 posts? And will we still be at wicgeeks.com when the new forum launches?

Do we have a list of pros vs cons? Seems an awful lot of trouble for something that may not suit our needs (based on what the rumors are)

Nothing is set in stone, Ry. But one of the main issues with the current host is:

1. The overcharge us like crazy.
2. The mobile issues are a giant pain ( and you know that best than most of us)
3. And when we do have problems these people drag their asses to get things fixed.

At least we are trying to come up with a backup plan.
