I'm hoping for a miracle here, but i'll keep in mind the internet's reaction to Heath Ledger's casting as the Joker and McConaghay in the first season.
I have faith they'll come up with another brilliant season, and that the director can coax some great acting out of Colin. Maybe it's too much to hope for, but I'm an optimist.
I was surprised at MM's performance! I had him pegged for romantic comedies and all sorts of action cheesy movies. Dallas Buyer's Club is on this month on HBO and I heard good things about it.
I have Dallas Buyer's Club DVR'd. I'm waiting for the right opportunity to sit down and watch it. I'm hoping MM gives as good a performance as he did in TD.
Everyone I know who watched it was impressed. I'm not going to wait though, I'll just see it on HBO go. Supposedly Jennifer Garner is not so bad herself.
He made WH and MM. I'm open minded as well. Not so sure about Taylor Kitsch....
Texas forever, that's all i have to say...
And seriously you all think Farell is such a mess for the part ? It's not a bad thing to be french sometimes cause our movie actors are so lame (there are exceptions but really french acting = blank acting) that i find him quite allright.

I watched that Google movie and man, does it turn me off of TD2. That guy is a rom com actor these days. Maybe TD will work its magic again and turn around his career.
The first two eps, Ry. Also expecting to see some famous female actress to join the cast by the looks of it. I'm betting for a female cop to balance the cast and team up with Ferrell's character.
Yeah I am ready to leave preconceived notions behind, HBO knew they had a good thing with season 1 and they are certainly not gonna gamble it away for season 2.

Goddammit, I thought they were about to come out with the show. Turns out they havent even begun shooting yet.
The show probably will air June of next year.

Sorry guys, I didn't realize there was already a thread for this topic, but thanks for redirecting me. It was brilliant. Agree with Rygar, this is exactly my type of show. Look forward to the second season. MM was brilliant and WH too.

You know I just realized it now. The reason why the first two thirds of the series jumps all over the place is beca se they are referring to past events. And like your memory, it's not always linear. Once they catch up to the present the style changes. Brilliant technique. I've heard people complain about the difference, as if the first 2/3 was better because it was stylistically different than the norm and then it just became a cop drama at the end. It's always been a cop drama. Lol.

But I thought that was understood, Ry. Where did you read such complaints? It was obvious the rhythm marked the change from flashbacks to different periods (some of them you could see in make up and clothes nevermind the actual storylines), to real time crime.

You nailed.it, Ry. lots of people were overthinking it from the start, me included. all those crazy theories, they were fun to engage in though, but i wasnt disapointed with the end, i liked the whole season.
What some people complained also, was Rustin change from pessimistic almost to the point of nihilism to an optimistic at the very end, they weren't convinced. Well, the way i see it, the near death experience caused the change, and that is enough for me. Not sure about the spoiler policy, so i ask the mods to please edit this with the spoiler tags if im breaking the rules.
I'll admit it. I watched it every time it was on after Broadwalk. It's just that good. I missed a few eps though. I might watch on HBO Go what I missed.
OMG totally late to the party for this one, but, Taylor? Taylor Kit? Oh, I am so going to be watching this with bated breath, unf.

Colin Farrell looks like he will pull some good stuff. I always liked him. Hollywood tried to push him as the "it" guy for a while and it never took off. Lets hope he brings his A game here.
